Eat that, Taylor Swift!!! She can sing live and her voice is UNPOLISHED (I mean, it doesn't need to be since it is already polished naturally)... She doesn't use crappy auto tunes or engineering... ALSO, she NEVER lower the key of her songs when she sings it live.. In fact. she sings it BETTER than the recording version (but then both recorded and live are AWESOME)

Funny thing about this song is that isn't actually about a person (from what I have heard and read.) Her record label came to her and told her that her next single needed to be a love song and she was supposed to write one for them. She came to them with this. If you listen to the lyrics its really fairly obvious. that it is not about a person but her label.

Actually not that hard, really. From my experience, I think it's more of an "either you can or can't" thing. It's just a type of coordination that's impossibly hard to learn. So if you can't do it...yeah.

Obviously studio recordings sound better than live versions... that's the whole point! Otherwise, artists would just record their live concerts and turn them into CD's. Regardless, from this live clip, it's obvious this girl can sing well. Most people with a decent ear for music wouldn't say she sounds "pretty bad" as you say.
