  • thanks mate!! this realy helped me

  • thx!!!

  • swag

  • next time show what notes are being played please!

  • Hey I got this issue with wav loops. When I put it in piano roll it speeds up the notes when going to higher notes and goes slower the lower the notes I play. How can I make it so it just pitches the notes?

  • Comment removed

  • is there anyone that can help with edison its not letting me drag anything from edison to the playlist or the step thing or do what he is doing i have changed a setting or something idk when ever i try this it shows a ....circle with a slash like a no symbol some please help

  • thanks.. appreciate all you guys tutorials

  • wow maybe i missed sumthing, all i wanted to knw is how do i get the piano rolll to follow the notes so i dont manually have to scroll along, it gets highly annoying when ur making or editing metal drums

  • ur tutorials are so boring dude. but good job

  • Cannot stand this guys fucking voice, omg, grab another cigarette please.

  • @jior6 You are obviously a no-life asshole. do you go up to people in real life and say that kinda shit?

  • Everytime i load something it won't wont play it i mean it will but no audio is coming from my speakers what am i doing wrong?

  • I am wondering if there is a way to chop an audio file and then use it on the piano roll.

I've watched your tutorial, but im wondering if you can make it become an instrument in itself.

The main thing im trying to do is, to be able to slice up vocals and beats, and then be able to play sections through piano roll.

Any advice? Thanks for your time.

  • Once i was using the speech plugin, where it puts each word/syllable onto a piano roll note. I accidentally did something which sliced them up into smaller portions on a piano roll. I was wondering if you could slice a .wav file somehow and import the notes into the piano roll, without putting it into another instrument

  • can I make this with normaly wave songs?

  • Wow! GREAT!

  • thx, really helped a lot

  • good tutorial, is it possible to change the scale of a song. if a song is in A, you convert it to F for example

  • Does the sample file always got to be a WAV data or can I also converts Mp3 files?

  • pls help me! everytime i open up the edison i get no sounds - my sound thingy is set to ASIO and still i dont get any sound every time i open the edison - any explanations for this?

  • @Magneticz13 i dont know but you can use the vst newtone now :)

  • fucking kick ass

  • does any one know how to clean up or pitch vocals on fl 9, i tried edison but i cant seem to figure out how to clean up or repitch wave voice

  • @discipleofhoudini youtube search 'FL Studio Guru - Noise Reduction with Edison' for pitching up use newtone

  • my notes is getting broken when its going to piano roll ;/

  • Is something like this avalible for pro tools

  • why does no one else take the time to do this, geez, instead they have are just fancy terms, modulator this or overdirve that, thank you NFX

  • does it work in fl7 because when i click in tools i dont even have that option its does have convert to mono? can you help me?

  • @kingod615 why do you have fl7? its up to 9.1 (stable) or 9.8(beta) now. if its a pirate version... why? imageline is such an awesome company that offers this powerful software for a reasonable price with lifetime free upgrades, buying it is a no-brainer of an investment, even if your not so serious about production. if you dont have the money, get your lawnmower out and go cut some grass or something.

  • @fakiir thanks 4 answering my question i guesssssssssss? lol if anybody else knows the anwser holla at me thanks

  • God bless you, man!

  • great tutoriall

  • Is FL Studio able to do the inverse: use a MIDI file to play chunks of wav files with adjusted pitch? I want to replace electronic instruments with e.g cat meows, but not sure if this is beyond the scope of this program. Audio synthesis is completely new to me.

  • @HiAdrian It can be done easily. The meow sound could be loaded into a sampler and then you would play the melody (or have the MIDI play the melody) as if it were any other sample.

  • This is a killer way to save money on buying a bass guitar. You can play your guitar, and again no chords, record w/ Edison and drop it in the channel with your fav vst bass plugin. I enjoy your channel, thanks.

  • thanks

  • love u nelson ;) the man!

  • OMGAWD THIS IS AWESOME!!!

You know, it is not trying to find the notes of a melody for me,

it is the rythme the notes are in. I can deal with fixing timing or off notes.

I wish i saw this when this video it was made!

Because of FL i have learned to use Major, Minor and 7th chords in the piano roll

on a keyboard and guitar. Im starting to memorize my scales now and soon i hope to play full songs without skipping beats. =]

  • Hello. How do you import beats made from another source into Edison?

  • go to 2:30 and watch until 2:40 There, i just saved you 6 minutes

  • WOW!! It was that easy thank's for sharing!

  • is there any way to "detect" the notes of the melody of a song (with chords and many instruments) in case you can't by hearing?

  • @seleonikios yeah. with your ears. You can follow music theory to an extent, or even use fl studio's 'detect scale' feature in the piano roll helper menu, but those are just guidelines. You have to create your own melody, for the most part.

(also, follow the circle of fifths for help)

  • Plz help. I want to get vocal ( singing ( acapella)) from mp3 i dont want music behind it just singing. how i do it? anyboddy?

  • @iohnoh you can't unless you have an a capella track w/o instruments. An mp3 is like a picture of a song; it was all the sounds, but it doesn't generate the sounds...so you can't "pull out" one sound out tof the others. If you're good, you can get most of the background out with EQs and filters, or if you can imitate the background music you can use that to cut frequencies behind the vocals, but that usually doesn't work very well.

If it's a well-known song, just google for an acapella track.

  • nice tutorial...and little shout at the end too, keepin it real...ha..1 love

  • my edison don't have a "Analysis" part with "convert to score and dump piano roll"

  • Comment removed

  • shiit NFX,that helped me alot, just today i made a sampled with this techinic...thanx man.keep the good work,n fight the system.Peace from Portugal.

  • lol that was from tengen toppa gurren lagann

  • But how can I extend a note so it lasts a bar, and not just a 16th?

  • Thanks anytime, not just for this tut, but for Warbeats and nfxbeats. When i get to the top of the game i ma holla too.

  • OOOOORRR< you could just drag that shit into the piano roll and call it a day, lmao.

  • I've been using FL Studio since it was called FruityLoops and I never knew this existed! You just made my life a whole lot easier.

  • Every time I watch one of your movies it blows my mind! Even when I see the same stuff on other forums, websites, etc... Bravo NFX!

  • Thnx alot :)

  • great video thank u

  • Hey i got a problem so if anyone can help that would be much appreciated, when i go to record with my keyboard it just records it into the step sequencer and not the piano roll...

  • this is bad ass. thanks!!!!!

  • voice so bassy

  • how would i do this for a multi note sample, to get just one of the notes in piano roll

  • fl studio, what a great tool

  • you should better convert this bull crap into real music, bro!

and for this kid... buy a better computer and a ASIO compatible device. Or you can start to think and just export the mixer channels or patterns one by one as wav files and putting em together in another DAW or even in this retarded FL!

  • aight nfx and other fl-fiends, i need to take piano roll data and convert it into .wav data to make my project less bulky!!

when i loada project n its got a buncha instruments n various effects thrown into the mixer playing a complex series of notes, i think my comp cant handle loading all of em at once and the CPU usage goes to 99 and fl studio stops responding. i wanna convert to .wav files so its easier for my comp to handle!! please help homies

  • @itsMBWAAA hey bro .. i got the same problem.. did u find out how to fix it/? lemme no thansk

  • @siKnaStyProductions sorry my man no luck. i actually did get some patterns into .wav files but when i put em in my playlist they didnt play very fluidly. there was a bunch of pauses and parts where the patterns werent playing in sync. it just got all jumbled and i just gave up on the whole project. sorry!! hopefully we will get this thing sorted out one day

  • thats very usefull man thx a lot :D

  • wow i LOVE your tutorials!!! simple to understand lol!

  • Once again the knowledge you have dropped is very valuable to my production. I appreciate it!

  • I use Edison all the time and never noticed this o_O thanks for the info!!!!

  • The word you want is "homophonic".

  • Whoa, that's a cool feature... I've only recently developed the ability to recreate melodies from samples with synth bass or keys by ear, so i'll probably keep doing that rather than have the program do it for me, but i wish i had known about this in the past, would have really helped when it came to composition.

  • lol at the end I thought I was at an AA meeting.

  • Great tutorial once again..i didnt know this was possible with FL Studio...thanks to your videos i can do a lot more with the program than i did it just over a year ago

  • no1'z touchin warbeatsz.............

  • Amazing! Using FL over 6 months+ and didn't know this. (Have yet to read the manual) I will make good use of this information. Thank you, and subscribed.

  • Thank you for this great tut

  • my edison doesn't work it doesn't let me load samples or mp3s

    can anyone help

  • yea i cant get any of my songs from itunes so i found out limewire will....well i use it for songs not on itunes or for samples to put in edison cause u just load it and its in

  • very usefull

  • hey how do you get fl 9 if you have 8

  • Try to get an MPC to do that. LMAO!!!!

  • Your tutorials have helped a lot to learn stuff in fl studio, I'm still a huge noob to it though, but keep them coming.

  • this is the best tutorail ever, man, keep 'em coming...that's amazing

  • hey i just wanted to say i like you're vid's and you got a real talent i was just suggesting that you should put a video '' how to make a horrorcore beat '' i got some horrocore songs if u never heard of it it's dark beats and wicked lyrics u should check it out.

  • this is how you get drum sounds or custom noises like sodacan hits and loud bangs into music

  • WHOA!!

The part at 2:43 really had me dumbstuck. That's awesome!

  • another great tip thanks :-D

  • Wow I didn't know you can do this.... Pretty Cool

  • WOW THANKS

  • hey could help me someone, please?

Is this ability also possible with FL studio 7?

    thx for help

  • How about you go and try it instead of wasting time asking here? You must have FL7 since you asked about it and the answer is yes. Next time you watch a tutorial, please try doing the same thing yourself and IF you have any problems, THEN ask for help.

  • lmao!!!!

  • whats up NFX i Have a Problem I am Working With Fl Studio 8 XXL Producers Edition and my mixer (idk how to use it very well) but when i load a sound it doesnt automaticly load to the mixer it just addes with the masters insert but if you can could you tell me how to get it to another insert i think your the best on youtube and thats why im asking you about it think you and your answer will be helpful -thanks again, Jbrizzyrecords

  • It is very useful tutorial. Thank you

  • can u make a westcoast whisle tutorial?

  • Just use the 3xOsc and use a high octave when playing it.

  • im a noob at that idk what is 3xosc :(

  • just look through the packs colored in red words

  • i found out how to do that a week ago :D but thanks anyways

  • your channel is awesome. thank you very much

  • you should do a atmosphere style beat

  • on the original WAV strings.or WAV file...

does anybody know hat kind of strings are thos??..does anybody know the nameof that string??..not the fl keys but the one that he played from the original track??..

  • This option is not on FL Studio 7 which verison is this.

  • 8 XXL i think.. Unsure.. lol

  • It's either 8.5 or 9. I can guarantee that. Since NFX has lifetime free updates, I'm guessing it's FL 9.

The play button in the step sequencer gave it away. Plus, the new PR interface :)

  • It´s Great Bro...

  • i appreciate this, but this feature will make beatmaking too easy! part of the fun and talent is finding that melody on your own, now people can sample, find the melody on the piano roll, and paste a bassline or synth line to match it in a matter of seconds, Next thing you know, 9 year old kids will be making professional sounding beats. in a matter of 2 weeks practice and put real producers out of a job

  • Real talent will reign supreme.

  • It's a long road from a midi file to a good sounding track!

  • nononononono.

you don't "find out" a melody. you CREATE a melody. What people do not get, is to produce or even to be good at FL Studio, you have to have some musical talent! You cant just be some computer geek who created a cracked version for fun and plays around on it. It's not like that. If you don't know what you're doing, it all fucks up. And no 9 year old has this ability!

  • bwaaahhhhahahahahahahahahaahhaha!!!!!!

  • @AnarchisticLemmings i beg to differ my Daughter is 3 yrs old and cuz Daddy uses FL she will actually sit there with me and i promise you by the time she is 6 she will be using FL i might still have to help but she will be able to do the basics..... plus i agree you do need musical talent to make music or it just sounds like pots and pans

  • @Prophetz17

That's probably because she does have talent, and that you're nourishing her talent at a young age. I'm sure she'll start playing an instrument when she's older or something. And that is partly my point, but my main point is that people think if they know the methods of making music they will get amazing results from it. But you still need talent or atleast the ability to create a nice melody.

  • @AnarchisticLemmings well said

  • @AnarchisticLemmings Thank YOU!

  • @AnarchisticLemmings exactly. thats why hip-hop has gone so far downhill these last 4 years in particular. look around on soundclick, etc. its all 15 yr old kids making the exact same beats with little to no talent and/or originality

  • @AnarchisticLemmings I don't know how many people got offended by your opinion, I sure do. I seriously think most of the people who even think about making music, have a soul - or whatever you want to call it.

That's enough to make a new exciting sound.

  • @bobalazs

    lol ok.

maybe someone who buys fl studio will

but most of the people who download fl studio have no musical talent or innovation whatsoever which pisses me off because i see the same stuff on youtube all the time.

  • @AnarchisticLemmings umm i started when i was 10. i can show you what i made when i was that age and see if you have the same opinion after :)

  • @AnarchisticLemmings some melodies can be found by accident, most do start from some inspiration though.

music is math, it is a skill that can be learned by most if they put in the time to master the concepts. talent comes into play with composition. but that talent cant function without the skills learned in mastering the basics.

  • @AnarchisticLemmings But, I'm a computer geek who created a cracked version for fun and plays around on it, and I actually make

    good music ;)

  • @AnarchisticLemmings seems to be working for me. cry about it.

  • @AnarchisticLemmings It's just a feature and something to experiment with/learn more about music with. Of course you need flair and creativity to make good, original electronic music, but for beginners and intermediates this stuff is really important.

  • Thank you man!!! A LOT!!!

  • is it the same for fl studio 9?

  • yes, it is

  • thanks man i would never find this out by my own

    this is sick

  • Wow. I must upgrade

  • That sweetens the deal...

  • FL Studio 8.2 XXL Producer Edition Has this option.

  • You're cool, Nelson.

  • COOL!

  • And what version of Fruity is this in. My V7. does not have this. Im assuming this is in 8

  • version 9 is already out :D so judging by the date its prolly 9

  • I doubt this is version 9. I have version 8 and 9. I haven't tried this in either, though.

  • Where do i find Edison on FL ?

  • Mixer, Scroll in the effects Channels.

  • Comment removed

  • wow this is great fruityloops never fails to amaze me somtinmes. great video

  • cant believe!!! 0_0 is it real???

  • holy shiznicks

  • Coolest thing ever!

  • Because NFX is the mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

    Warbeats Forevaaaaaaaaaa

  • wow -- insane

    thank you NFX!

  • wht wld yu use this for?

  • u would use this 4 cooking spaghetti faster

    lol:|

  • One thing you might use this for is humming your own melody into FL and converting it to notes so you can use it on an instrument.

You do need to have a good pitch control on your voice unless you use auto tune or GSnap to help you out.

  • wow this is great!!!!!

i've been looking 4 sumfin like this 4 awhile thnks so much!!!

  • wow.. thanks, for the 50th time lol.. nice tutorial

  • Damn! Thank you NFX!

  • yo nfx your the man I didnt even know this was possible

  • damn i had no clue it could do this

  • i didnt knew dat exist lol gr8

  • that's sick, i didn't even know that existed

  • nice, i had some richard mars songs on my comp. and i put the pinao on edison and voila i had the piano :D

  • awesummm !!

  • i cant find this !

  • thank u man, love the quickshots

  • keep'm coming, dude! PS-How in the world did you become such an expert on FL Studio? You know practically everything about it, dude!

  • nfx is coming late... i found that out few weeks ago... and shit works horrible... u can get a better result in reason 4

  • maybe you're not doing it right.

  • no srsly u can get a better result on reason... and didnt u hear him say it doesnt work when 2 notes come together... u can do it with the melodies u make in fl studio and save it as wav file...

  • thank you hater!

  • hey wtf man... im not hatiing nfx why everyone takin this personal? its just the truth... i like nfx's tutorials alot but you can try this with a regular sample from songs and shit and see how fucked up the results are... god damn it you people, just try it then start hatin on me

  • I thought I was very clear in the tutorial that it works best on a monophonic sound. Anything that has multiple simultaneous sounds will of course give worse results because there is too much going on.

  • yes i know my friend... and this is what im saying u cant get good results with regular samples... but if you convert a regular sample in reason u can get a wayz smoother result

  • wow, had no idea that FL had anything like this, thanks alot

    keep them coming

  • hank and keep going, i see you from argentina

  • GO WARBEATS FOR THE WIN!!!

10x for the turtorial, really helpful!!!!!

  • how annoying... i don't have the Edison XD

is there any way i can get it?

as far as i know myself it weren't in the Fruity Edition right?... dam...

  • it's in fl studio 8,9...

  • why did my comment get one thump down? :O

  • :O! wow

  • wow damn nice!

  • wow

  • Yeah, this is awesome! I use Sonar 8 (pro), too. FL Studio blows it out of the water in so many ways.

  • holy shit! I didn`t know FL had those capabilities. Priceless !
