THIS VIDEO MAKES ME SO MAD!! i HAVE WORKED FOR VECTOR FOR ALMOST 5 MONTHS NOW AND I LOVE THE COMPANY. YOU NEVER GIVE YOUR NAMES LIST TO ANYONE AND HAND IT IN. THIS LADY IS LYING TO YOU! YOU WRITE THE NAMES LIST SO THAT YOU CAN CALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, SET APPOINTMENTS WITH THEM, AND SELL THEM CUTCO. THIS COMPANY IS A GREAT COMPANY FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO FURTHER THEMSELVES AND GAIN EXPERIENCE. YOU ONLY NEED TO SELL 1000 TO BE AT 15% 3000 TO BE AT 20% AND 10000 TO BE AT 30%
@alyhad09 So why if you are an independent contractor does your "manager" get any percentage? You need to understand all the unethical practices Vector gets away with. Compare your job as an independent contractor who has to pay taxes later to that of Avon. You have no need of a manager and you should get your knives directly from the manufacturer.
@alyhad09 Hey, I just wsat training yesterday and they did want you to write down all your friends and families numbers and hand them to the manager, everyone did but me
I was called in for an interview but backed out. The problem I have with them is they expect you to sell a $500 set of knives in this economy!! Not only that but unpaid training, no reimbursement for gas, and you have to spend $200 on a sample set, I mean c'mon!! I'm not gonna call it a scam but unless you're a real pushy, extroverted person, which I'm not, you're not gonna get a good return on this job. That's why it would be a waste of time for me.
@FSM2786 It's easy to sell $500 sets of knives in this economy because people are tired of cheap crap they have to replace constantly. Your gas is tax deductible because you're an independent contractor. I'm not pushy or extroverted and I find I actually sell more than other people because my customers appreciate my low key approach.
i tried Vector Marketing for one month i made 45 bucks my first week and after that i made 5 sales and sold 5 sets...it IS NOT a scam, u can be successful at it if you truly drive for it and bust your ass but they expect ALOT out of their "employees" they monitor ur every move from the moment u wake up to the moment you go to sleep..if im making you a 3000 dollar profit and only making 10% of that i deserve better treatment thats the only problem i had was the over supervision they slapt me with
@templarmoney1 Do you understand that as an independent contractor they had no rights over anything you did? They had no right to call you early in the morning or late at night. An actual employer that pays taxes for social security and workmen comp can have that power over you. No Vector tricked you into having their cake and eating it too by not hiring you as an employee they saved themselves tax revenue but then rode you worse than any other real job-honestly because you fell for it.
@btcaulley i looked into the company before i started im not THAT stupid, i heard all the bad things but i didnt want to judge from a 3rd party perspective so now i had my experience i can tell you that i learned how to talk to more people on and off the phone...ive been waiting to find another job so i can quit this Vector bullshit and luckily today i found one so good buy Vector! and hello fat boys pizza...ur right though they get cheap labor and get all the profit its worth it tho no doubt
@templarmoney1 I made over 2 grand in my first month, working two hours a day. that's pretty awesome if you ask me. and if you bring in 3000 dollars, assuming you started at zero is you are making 20% not 10%.
@hickkid1 i was promised 10% and im not doing all the work and getting a minimal fraction of the reward...its a rip off, some people can be successful at it it all depends on who your selling to, i live in a poor neighborhood so no one bought shit from me, and i make 2000 a month delivering pizzas. i get paid to drive, listen to music and meet new people, i get phone experience, sales experience and people experience i make about 11 bucks an our and 17% commission thats MORE than vector promised
@templarmoney1 If you think they only promised 10% you didn't listen during the interview. During the interview they explain that as you sell more you make more. I make 30%, and a girl in my office is an fsm making 50%. Driving a pizza car doesn't give you sales experience, you are just the delivery boy, and I'll but you had to work way harder than I did to make your money.
@hickkid1 yea i would have to sell like 10,000 to get 15%...i make on average 150 bucks a day thats like the average sale if i was selling cutco...and i would only make about 15 bucks out of that...i leave with 100 bucks cash daily! i dont need to wait for a check and i dont have to sell 1000 dollars to get it...id rather work 10 hours a day like ive been than only work 2 hours a day...i enjoy work! work is fulfilling sales didnt do it for me, a 5pm to 3am does! and thats where im staying
The people in this video obviously didn't pay attention in the interviews. I run interviews for the company and all the things they complain about not knowing are addressed before they are even hired. the only people who aren't successful with us are the people who can't manage their own time effectively.
Look the people that buy the products do it by their own free will. They either want to help the sales rep or get the product or both. Besides the most expensive set is under three grand and it has that forever guarantee so you don't have to buy it again and again, and in this country 3 grand, that's not a whole lot. It's a fucking corporation. You think Vector is the worst one? No the one that runs your shit country and England and the Vatican probably is. Those fucked up Jews own every one.
@wharsmypancakeshoe three grand buys you three sets of knives and usually at least a hundred dollars of free product is given away. Also the knives have free replacement if they break and free sharpening. Forever.
You guys aren't too bright are you? the fact is nobody has to buy shit, and so what if some people WANT to buy it, they either do it to help the sales rep or they really want the knives or both. Anyone who buys it has FIFTEEN fucking days to send the shit back anyways... how could that really be a swindle? It's a fucking corporation... just like the one that owns this country, if you don't like it then don't work there or buy the shit.

@xsavagedrummerx i wish i heard about this ....i don't want to go around to sell people stuff that i don't really believe...i'm on my first day of training
@hickkid1 I think there is something wrong with you...i have those knives at my house too~ they don't really stay sharp that long......Anyway....i just saw them at my school..today...i need to talk to some authority about this
if you all think the company is shady, it is nothing compared to what it was like 10-15 years ago. they used to have the applicants pay to be interviewed. however, now, almost none of that applies. just about everything is explained in the interview and now they do not charge for the kit. i worked there for about a year and a half. i had a great experience and learned many life skills. the only thing i don't like is how people who work for the company can be very condescending to everyone else
lol the job isn't even that hard...and now the knives are free...the interview explains the job completely and if you follow the program you can grow as a person and learn to positively effect people. CUTCO is replaced FOREVER for FREE!!! that's doing your friends and family a favor, saving them a lot of money instead of having a drawer of 3 dollar knives that suck...people who have poor work ethic tend to fail at vector because you create your own paycheck. if you want something, go get it
They're a bunch of fucking slumlords. Your family and friends wind up paying your "enormous" checks. Just skip the vector middlemen and ask them for money. Its just as good.
vector is not a scam; The University of Calgary would not put their rep on the line for a "scam"
Take it from someone who has been successful in a town of less than 100,000 people. People will buy; not everyone will buy, but its true that the product's value is worth more than the price and if you cant get that point across, then you arnt doing a job that suits you.
I remember being given a job with Vector Marketing, 5 years ago. They did not divulge their intent as far as what your job would actually be (door-to-door sales) until you were "hired"! They promised that I COULD make hundreds of thousands of dollars and showed me checks of people that made such ridiculous amounts of money! All in all, I'm suprised that they are still in business after the 30 years they've been scamming kids... Its a shame indeed
Vector is a JOKE! They target naiive college students and mislead them into thinking they will be making big bucks. You are basically selling cutlery (knives) to people AT THEIR HOMES. You even have to pay a "up front" for a demo set that you'll sell with. Now you tell me who on earth in these hard economic times is gonna pay a salesperson good money for a set of cutlery these days? Unless you are the type of person who can sell snow to Eskimos then maybe, but for the average person??
my manager was an asshole to me i told him me and my family were broke and simply could not afford the $150 kit to use in demonstrations and he said "well if you want the job bad enough you will FIND the money"
I have had the same experience here in the UK with a similar company who only pays based on commission which is good for anyone who loves working in that kind of environment. But for me part of the job involved giving away your soul or morals as one would say because for example I would never sell my products to the elderly, disabled or unemployed as I know it is morally wrong in taking advantaged of people who are vulnerable so for me it is a scam in that aspect.
I don't really know what's up with all this. My branch has been pretty clear on the way the job works. Yes, the ad for the job was somewhat cryptic, but since then they've done a pretty good job of explaining everything. Also, with the list of friends and family, they just had us compile the list for ourselves and manage our own contacts (also clear from the beginning), so the only time the company gets their numbers is on order forms.
Just to clarify, I guess you would give out the phone number and address of the people you visit when you turn in your qualified presentation report, but I've been doing so much in commissions that I haven't had to turn one of those in.
There are many opinions on whether the job is good or bad. We all have different tastes but.... the ad said: $16.75 an hour. What the f>>ck is that? The truth is, it's $16.75 per APPOINTMENT, which you need to set up yourself, drive there and all that stuff. An HOUR vs per APPOINTMENT is a lot different, isn't it? Maybe they do give you a good percentage from sales, but if the ad was saying per APPOINTMENT instead of per hour, I would think twice before applying for the job !!!!
This video is funny to me because all of these things they are saying are lies and the not the whole true. I'm a Advanced Sales Advisor for vector, 30% commission. And to yes when you start you by your own sample kit for $150 but the truth is that you use this kit as a tool to sell cutco for training to you family and friends first. People who care about helping, therefore will buy from you. And as a result of this training they give you referrals to people that could be potential buyers.
you know what you are? you are a poser. what r YOU really doing w/ your life? u effin swindle your friends and family into buying mediocre kitchen knifes using pity or peer pressure. this company takes ur insecurity and others' trust in you and uses it for a simple profit. you are disgusting. i dont care how much money you make, ur no better than an insurance man. what you call "determination", most would call unethical-selfish-motivation. i hope you look back one day and regret this.
and who are you? iv dealt with this incestuous shit company. and i know what it takes to become successful with these people. and personally i think crackwhores have more dignity than these people.
totally. or maybe being determined and willing to go out of your comfort zone is undignified?just it doesn't work 4 u doesn't make it a scam. i worked my ass off in my first month and made just base pay :( i went to meeting's and conferences, made key staff and i'm drowning in success,CPO,and cash. this jobs isn't for negative, lazy people. there's no such thing as a free lunch and no such thing as easy money
This job is not easy, damn people are so dumb. THEY DONT LIE, THEY TELL YOU EVERYTHING. YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR OWN APPOINTMENTS! IT IS UP TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what some duesches! im an assistant manager in huntsville alabama and i make comma checks everyweek!! yea it really does suck workin only like 10-15 hours a week and makin soooo much money i really just hate it! someone tell me what i need to do to start makin like 200 a week again i mean i dont wanna make almost 70k this year! i need help getting a hard job cause this one is tooo easy! 2000 dollars a week is too much for me! oh by the way all yall haters im 18 years old! yea it sucks!!!
dude all of my paychecks have been over a thousand dollars each week... this stupid knife job. Man,I hate making more money than all of my friends! I wish i could be mediocre and waste all of my time complaining about how bad vector is, when i could be using that time to try and figure out how i can make more money this summer. NO SCAM PEOPLE. HOW CAN IT BE A SCAM IF PEOPLE ARE SELLING AND MAKING SO MUCH MONEY???
Man, I dont know about you guys, but im tired of being scammed... i made 9500 in the past two weeks... screw this... lets continue to post hate websites.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
my first 2 months working I made $6,000. If you put this much energy into making this video, you could have put a little in actually doing the job and moving forward in life. This job have changed my life and I dont have one bad thing to say.
I had a somewhat similar experience. I got the job went into one day of training. They told us we needed to have the money for the sample knife set the VERY NEXT DAY OF TRAINING! Which was $150!!!! They make their money off of their employees! I called the office that night and told them that I was declining the job offer. He said some fake BS like "I don't wanna see you give up on yourself" or "I disappointed in and for you" that's how they try to reel you back in. They are LIARS and SWINDLERS.
Yes. Liars and swindlers for requiring their employees to pay a deposit of 150 on a 500 dollar set of knives. What moral corruption, because I'm sure no one has ever left the company without returning their sample set.
Quality knives are expensive. Shop around. Look at Wustofs. Asking for a $150 deposit for an 8 piece set, especially when the check is never cashed, is a good deal, and just good business sense.
i'm going to quit vector in person.. i been to three days of training(hoping i can get another job) you're right, it's like you're paying to work!!! and selling stuff to you're family to make income off of them....what will happen when you run out of references? they might cut you lose. ElegyOfAutumn i see what you're saying
this is the dunbest shit i've ever heard. you guys CLEARLY did not pay attention intraining or at the interview. those of you whom made this video can continue to be stupid and live a dumb life.
Whoever posted this comment obviously did not pay attention to the video because it is about candidates being mislead by managers in hopes of making the managers a quick buck.
I do plan on being dumb and making more videos about corrupt businesses exploiting the public.
I actually think the people that fell for Vector's training as normal business practices are the dumb ones.
@smartykangster um im said this b4 to you suckers who fall for this shit! whatch when something happens to the economy, you think people are gona give a fuck about a knife???? get a real fucking job with an education you fucker!
you guys are fucking idiots. go apply for edward jones as a financial advisor they will ask you to sell to your family and friends as well. there are several sales jobs out there that are very respectable that ask you to generate your own business.
To all the people that are for what Vector is doing. I would just like to say thank you for making my point all that more clearer by swearing at us and calling us unintelligent because we have an ethical line we will not cross.
But you go ahead and get that money by working people over strangers or family and friends and keep on believing your smarter because of it.
You just make the job of exposing people like you that much easier. I hear Haliburton is hiring.
@btcaulley woooooow you act like we are coming into peoples houses and raping their kids. we ask if they would mind if we come over , cut some stuff up , show them the knifes, and then if they want them good , if not I still get paid. This job is not for lazy people with no desire to work in sales. All the cutco customers I run into are extremely happy with what they got. unmotivated, people who cant manage their time when left to their own devices need not apply to this job
well u dumb ass !! how many people knows about vector .. comparative to edward jones and on the other hand they dont have any sort of complaint centers or any Controvertial websites!! why dont you just say ur a fuckin Vector marketing Employee !!
Vector Is not a Scam , But it is The pyrimid Sceam
Cutco Sells its Self , But Vectors a Bunch of Assholes
Straight up i love Cutco, but i Hate Vector Why is This ,
Because The Way Vector Markets Their Cutco
Is they Tell you Your Going to Peoples Houses That are already interested in the product
When really the Reason Why their interested is becuase there your friends and family wanna beat the Fuck outta My boss

And as a result of this training they give you referrals to people that could be potential buyers.
shadybiz1nctje 3 years ago
so basically paying to work when buying the sample kit
tm11111111 3 years ago
I just started at vector and I didn't have to pay for the sample kit.

you know what you are? you are a poser. what r YOU really doing w/ your life? u effin swindle your friends and family into buying mediocre kitchen knifes using pity or peer pressure. this company takes ur insecurity and others' trust in you and uses it for a simple profit. you are disgusting. i dont care how much money you make, ur no better than an insurance man. what you call "determination", most would call unethical-selfish-motivation. i hope you look back one day and regret this.

I'm a college student making more money then I ever have and gaining valuble work experience. Its not an easy job, but its a good one.
and what makes a cutco sales rep undignified?
the fact that they want to do something besides flip burgers between semesters?
xcloudxs 2 years ago
totally. or maybe being determined and willing to go out of your comfort zone is undignified?just it doesn't work 4 u doesn't make it a scam. i worked my ass off in my first month and made just base pay :( i went to meeting's and conferences, made key staff and i'm drowning in success,CPO,and cash. this jobs isn't for negative, lazy people. there's no such thing as a free lunch and no such thing as easy money

I got accepted at Vector and quit after the first day.
My manager called me and asked why I havent participated. He then accused me of being lazy and not motivated.
Being motivated is one thing, but Vector is not a proper place to apply efforts.
The managers present themselves as nice people. And they say they'll help you in life. But in the end they brainwash people to make profits.
loafingsmurf 3 years ago 17
I had a somewhat similar experience. I got the job went into one day of training. They told us we needed to have the money for the sample knife set the VERY NEXT DAY OF TRAINING! Which was $150!!!! They make their money off of their employees! I called the office that night and told them that I was declining the job offer. He said some fake BS like "I don't wanna see you give up on yourself" or "I disappointed in and for you" that's how they try to reel you back in. They are LIARS and SWINDLERS.
ElegyOfAutumn 3 years ago 9
LordBaruch 3 years ago
Not only that, it being a deposit you can get your cash back at any time as long as you return the knives tip top shape.

i'm going to quit vector in person.. i been to three days of training(hoping i can get another job) you're right, it's like you're paying to work!!! and selling stuff to you're family to make income off of them....what will happen when you run out of references? they might cut you lose. ElegyOfAutumn i see what you're saying

this is the dunbest shit i've ever heard. you guys CLEARLY did not pay attention intraining or at the interview. those of you whom made this video can continue to be stupid and live a dumb life.
smartykangster 3 years ago
Whoever posted this comment obviously did not pay attention to the video because it is about candidates being mislead by managers in hopes of making the managers a quick buck.
I do plan on being dumb and making more videos about corrupt businesses exploiting the public.
I actually think the people that fell for Vector's training as normal business practices are the dumb ones.
btcaulley 3 years ago
@smartykangster um im said this b4 to you suckers who fall for this shit! whatch when something happens to the economy, you think people are gona give a fuck about a knife???? get a real fucking job with an education you fucker!

you guys are fucking idiots. go apply for edward jones as a financial advisor they will ask you to sell to your family and friends as well. there are several sales jobs out there that are very respectable that ask you to generate your own business.
RAY113522 3 years ago
To all the people that are for what Vector is doing. I would just like to say thank you for making my point all that more clearer by swearing at us and calling us unintelligent because we have an ethical line we will not cross.
But you go ahead and get that money by working people over strangers or family and friends and keep on believing your smarter because of it.
You just make the job of exposing people like you that much easier. I hear Haliburton is hiring.
btcaulley 3 years ago 7
@btcaulley woooooow you act like we are coming into peoples houses and raping their kids. we ask if they would mind if we come over , cut some stuff up , show them the knifes, and then if they want them good , if not I still get paid. This job is not for lazy people with no desire to work in sales. All the cutco customers I run into are extremely happy with what they got. unmotivated, people who cant manage their time when left to their own devices need not apply to this job
