Changing the operators of the system, or changing the system (that runs the people, where all of us in the country are part of?)
Please, let's all face it, we Filipinos are all part of the system that runs us, and if there are various aberrations in society that we notice, are we really that self-righteous to say that it is this guy's fault, it's the leaders' fault, and so forth...and not "ours"?
Aren't we also a part of our so-called deteriorating system too? Why are we always looking for someone else to blame for the problems we're all experiencing to some degree? And worst of all, why are we always trying to assert ourselves that we have the right solutions, AND this are the only solutions that we must undergo?
Truth is, there are countless of factors (media, govt, history and even culture) why we view ourselves as "poor" (whether it can be backed up by statistical data or not), and it's really hard to pinpoint and eradicate the source of such swarm of problems.
Constitutional reform, however, is promising IMO; analyzing within the details of the system to identify the problems, isn't a bad idea at all.
The reform does not entirely promise us of a better life, but it's much more logical for me to change the system, in order to change the people, rather than changing the people, in order to change the system. Unless if someone else has a better idea rather than giving "false hope" to people by giving away tons of cash or prizes, trip to this and to that, and even charity sweepstakes to a handful of "lucky winners", wherein the "kumpadre, kinship and utang-na-loob" system remains rampant.

@jhacea IMO, I think the Catholic Church is not trying to tell about the teachings of God. I think they are merely using the name of the institution (well religion is just a social institution made by man, not by God actually.) to gain power over their followers. @jhacea IMO, I think the Catholic Church is not trying to tell about the teachings of God. I think they are merely using the name of the institution (well religion is just a social institution made by man, not by God actually.) to gain power over their followers. Furthermore, I respect all religions by all means, but I think God gave us the freedom to do anything as long as it doesn't harm other people. This is merely my opinion and I may lack some facts, but honestly, this is how I see religion

Isn't that putting the cart before the horse? Furthermore, correlation is not equal to causation. There are rich countries that are under a presidential system as well as poor countries in a parliamentary system. What good is a form of government if the people running it are the same?

Marahil nga ay may mga mayayamang bansa na parliamentary system ang form of government. At tama din na maraming bansa na may presidential system ang mahirap. Pero marhail ISA lang iyon sa mga dahilan kung bakit sila mayaman o mahirap, marami pang IBANG FACTORS ang nagdudulot nun. This is a weak causal analysis.
PS Bakit hindi niyo rin po i-presenta ang iba pang dahilan kung bakit gusto niyo ng consti reform.

@dingory in our current condition I think it's easier to change the mechanism rather than the operator. Lagi ko din naririnig the people should change not the government but we are not that wise and mature yet. It's important we keep an open mind and be open to change.

25 years... mayayamang pamilya(lopez, may hawak ng kuryente, media, express way, etc.) lang ang yumayan..... at ang mahhiirap na pamilya ang lalong naghihirap.. milyon2x ang kinikita nila bakit kailangan pa talaga ng mayayamang pamilya nayan na taasin ang presyo ng lahat ng mga bilihin/utilities... grabeh naman, lalo na ngayong part sila ng YELLOW ARMY, parang hawak na rin nila ang estado.... kaya naman napakabias ng reporting noong may10 elections.. abias cbn talga

@designpinoy I don't think a parliament would be better...since I compared the two systems...the parliament wouldn't work out for Filipinos (that have this...let's say attitude compared to other countries) It's the leader and his subordinates that need to change. They don't need to replaced if not necessary...but a just a change in...HEART. Also...the change should start within an individual and the world would follow. Impossible...but if you think about it...it can happen.

Napakababaw ng analysis. Ni hindi naisaalang-alang ang epekto ng Bretton Woods Institutions at Imperyalismo. May pahiwatig pa ng paghikayat sa Foreign Direct Investments. Mapanlinlang ang pagbibigay ng mga halimbawa ng mga bansang may gobyernong parlamentaryo at presidensyal. Masasabi kong mapaglaro ang imahinasyon ng gumawa ngunit walang 'factual basis'. Puro haka-haka at walang matibay na pundasyon ng mga patunay na susuporta sa mga claims na inilahad.

Ang masasabi ko naman ay dapat talaga nating gawing pangunahing layunin ang pagpapalinang ng ating sistemang edukasyon, dahil isa ang edukasyon sa mga institusyon na humahaligi sa isang bansa. Isipin nyo; kung palpak ang sistemang edukasyon, palpak ang karamihan sa mga mag-aaral, kung palpak ang mga mag-aaral, maaaring di na sila magpatuloy sa pag-usad o maging mga palpak na propesyonal. mga propesyonal tulad ng mga guro, pulitiko, manggagawa, atbp. ...At paulit-ulit na lang ang "agos ng ilog". Dahil sa mga palpak na propesyonal, ang susunod na henerasyon ay magiging palpak din. Kung gagawing pangunahing layunin ang edukasyon, gagaling ang mga mag-aaral, malalaman nilang maging responsable sa bayan, magiging mga propesyonal, at ang mga magagaling na guro ay ipagpapatuloy ang kagalingan. ang mga magagaling na pulitiko ay susuporta sa bayan. ang iba pang propesyonal ay tutulong sa paghaligi sa bayan. Hindi ba, mukhang maganda?
