read:THE COLONEL...THAT BOOK SAYS HE MAY HAVE MURDERED A YOUNG WOMAN in Breda Holland...he left that country on a ship the very day he was seen arguing with a young lady who was found murdered that afternoon. read the book and see for yourselves that parker was a swindler and only cared for Elvis' money!!!
money grabbing greeedy lier . he stiffled elviss creativity lookin for money for himself when he took that away from him ...... well you just have too look and listen to elvis to see the effect it had.he couldnt have met a worse manager. even his mother knew this
@grabar20 how old are you? must be to young or dumb to think "if it was not for parker elvis would not be the star he was* heres the reality check for all you numbnut parker lovers. elvis would have been a bigger star without parker. he wouldve had more money and lived longer
@colvis5 Hey i dont like parker,so come on,do you think Sam Phillips,would have made him,dont think so he sold his recording contract to RCA Victor Records for $35,000 in 1955 to relieve financial difficulties,if it was not for parker,sun Records would have gone under,elvis put sun on the map,only when parker took over.Please read books it will help you with your very backward education,oh and one more thing,elvis could have got rid of parker at any time,there was no gun at his head.
@grabar20 yep your right on that one. but still bugs me that a man of such potential was wasted on lots of poor songs and films.Over 30 years of reading books and watching docus thats the opinion ive formed. T C B
@colvis5 yes i think the same,the movie years where a waste(the 60s),that is,but what a voice that man had.All the best,and have a good 2011.............
i always felt colonel parker didnt approve of elvis being a product of black culture. he probably felt it was a gimmick that everybody used at sun records. that was why he tried to commercialize elvis by taking him away from his black roots. elvis never forgot where he came from and always showed respect to his black peers cstanchik
great video. you hear loads of weird stories on tom parker. one i heard was that the colonel nearly had a stroke when he found elvis gambling away his money which he had made from one of his tours. another one is he was a psychopath and cold-blooded buisnessman who exploited elvis, the other is that he never left his native land at age 20 becuase of a murder he was supposed to be involved in.
