  • this is a song, group & video that i'll never get tired of viewing & listening, cheers! x0]

  • A first-class sound .. congrats, a great upload ..

  • Without you My Dreams would Never Come True

  • Man that hair is so Davy and Goliath

  • The Putin Guy Looks Like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory.

  • This is great shit

  • I really like The Atlantics. And i like this track. It´s a kind of raw, smooth and honest garage rock from the 60s. My hobby is to rediscover all those great bands from that period that didn´t "broke throug". And, it´s a fantastic musical treasure. Listen for example to: THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". Really f.....g good with a bloody driving beat. THE GOLLIWOGS and the tune "Tell me". Check up the singer.....Yes...it´s him!!

  • @TheSunbau Hey, I'm actually trying to find a lot of music of similar time/style, could you pass your discoveries my way? thanks!

  • Best hair, very cool track! Great band, The Atlantics, their BOMBORA album is a treasure too.

  • Alien forms symbiosis with man, poses as hair.

  • Shit bags.

  • Very hard, raw, and way cooool!

  • Is that hairdo house trained?

  • I used to watch Tom Terrific as a kid...

Australia's best beat group and hairdo......

  • when i look at his hair, it's like i don't know what i'm looking at. pretty cool

  • bald at 20.....what a crime.

  • odd hair piece..very

  • Totalmente vacan la cancion.

  • bad wig.

  • Is that a hat?

  • where could we find these records?! so good.

  • Great Stuff!

  • i just love the way the song sounds. from the first drum wack to the cool solo....

  • 'C'MON' i think is the title of this song. Australian band 'Wet Taxis' covered this song on a 7" released in 1984, its a mighty fine version.

  • the title of the song? does anybody know it?

  • @yperia Come On by The Atlantics.

  • @yperia the name of the song is 'come on'

  • The singer looks like a young Donald Trump.

  • @geko104

    Urban Dictionary: lego hair

a particularly shitty male haircut in which the sides cover the ears and the hair appears to be "snap on".

    LOL

  • I"ve heard of this band! they are awesome..

  • I rang Theo to tell him i had seen this clip and that i loved the song and the silence on the line was deafening...he couldnt believe it

  • The guitarist is Theo Penglis...a fine human being with a depraved sense of humour...an evil bastard that sends me obscene but hilarious emails.

Now living in the Blue Mountains outside Sydney...he informs me that the look of "disdain" at the end of the solo is actually terminal boredom.

  • @Mrjkdguy : do you know where we can buy or download the song and others from that band? tx yves

  • Didn't the wet taxis cover this song?

  • his hair is mesmerising.

  • On the 2nd Nuggets box set.

  • Heavy.. good band heavy thick sound, clear vocals.

  • what's the name of the song pls?

  • The "c'mon part..sounds like deep purple space truckin...

  • doesnt that guitarist on the right kinda looks like Putin? LOL

  • @markwang1992516

    guitarist, KGB, judo master...

  • @markwang1992516 just a little bit, but they are really similar)

  • @markwang1992516 : I have it on reliable authority that it was actually Putin's father on a secret spy mission for the USSR .. here in Oz, helping the Chi-Coms to plan for the kidnapping of Harold Holt in a Chinese sub, not that long after, off Cheviot Beach, Victoria ... what better cover than to play in a late 60s Oz punk band ...

  • Who gives a fuck about the hair or the miming? This is simply a classic garage track that will float on top of the mountain of dross beneath it.

  • Saw The Hangmen do this song in 1986 (the Prince of Wales Hotel, St, Kilda) - Great performance, great band!

  • Love it.

  • Fantastic. Kinda The Who-meets-The Animals, with just a bit of Stooges in the playing. The singer's hair is unsettling, but the guitarist's disdain at the end of the solo is pure punk. Nice. Thanks for posting.

  • The Wet Taxis did this track on a 7" in 1984.

The B side was "Clock on the Wall".

Produced by Kent Steedman and David Connor.

Fortunately for you I have a VGC copy available.

    Dial Australia 0417-071-462.

  • @lonsktube I have that one as well. You can see it here fwiw

    youtube.com/watch?v=gozP_qt6WC8

  • what fancy finger work on the bass?lol

  • Looks like a 64 strat, could be mine.

Solo @ 1:30 bad mime. Ha!

  • awesome i dig this song every time i hear it....look out Ray...

  • Punk?. Sounds like dirtied up psychadelic to me

  • @addison1977 there's nothing psychedelic about this

  • @paintedship The way he sings gives it a psychedelic feel.

da da da da da daA da da

  • The hair is an artifact created by digitising the vid. Brilliant track!

  • Can't even buy this track on itunes, I doubt you'd have much luck finding it on CD. Wonder if it I can track it down on vinyl?

  • I think the guy's awful wig adds to the quality of the vid and song.

  • Chinese Basement FTW

  • What is this song called and what album is it on?

  • Very Catchy tune, Good Song-they dont make them like this today!!!!

  • his hair sucks!!!:S

  • i cant decide whats cooler...the fancy finger work on the bass or that fuckin' hair doo ? or hair don't in this case.....

  • @Afafa0das0Usurper

Yeah, it's quite a sculpture! Looks like cake icing!

    great band anyhoo!

  • @Afafa0das0Usurper im with you there, the hair looks like Action Mans haircut when he'a been on leave for 3 months..

  • All these stupid geeks upset about a haircut? They have spent far too much time online, some listening to crap from muscials, and have forgotten the importance of The Atlantics to garage music? Probably... Sure the clip was probably mimed for a TV show, which was the nature of the beast at the time. Switch off your PC, buy the CD and listen to the music. You would be pleasantly surprised, as are original, talented, and ahead of their time.

  • I think the singer (hair and all) is Johnny Rebb??

  • Im convinced the singer is wearing a wig, just look at the thickness of the 'hair', its a syrup!

  • This is a fantastic work!, but if it's in '67 as the title says, then it's about a year too late. It's kind of a '66 sound, which would explain why it didn't catch on.

  • What about this song says Garage, Punk, Classic, or even music for that matter. The singer and band are clearly not even playing. Terrible song, terrible band, I know you Aussies are great, but this is a load of BS.

  • this is awesome, what's it called?

  • "Looks like some varmit crawled up on his head and took himself a nap." - Jed Clampett of The Beverly Hillbillies.

  • One of the band members is Chicano, who knew this?

  • Great garage number, real nice to hear some music from down-under!

  • He has a dead cat in his head I think

  • The object on the singers head seems to be head gear for some Aussie sport.

  • hey, they are pretty good

  • Wow. This IS a classic.

  • Nice to put faces on a rare 60s gem like this. I had the 45 single of this for years and only recently got it on a cd compilation THANKS!

  • great song ....had the orig 45 years ago... got it on cd nice to hear a cleaned up recording.no it's even greater putting a face to this 60s gem THANKS

  • great song!

  • love the song but the singer look like asshole

  • @blindantepodean Just hold on there dude and this is for the record. Lots of people make the mistake that there was some neat transition form the sixties into the genre of punk or garage punk. The sounds simply got heavier (Helter Skelter of Beatles fame) Any one who played raw music and was condemned to play in garages recieved the American name garage punks. The work punk meaning not a punk rocker but simply a piss ant that hadnt made it yet. That meaning completely transformed much later.

  • he's wearing green beret, guess he's commando or something

  • Awesome sound. Long live garage punk!

  • the Atlantics weren't (or even aren't) garage punk. They wrote the lasting surf instrumental classic Bombora. Some of the most recognised early punk bands are: the Saints (Aus), Radio Birdman (Aus), the Stooges (US) and NY Dolls.

  • @blindantipodean I heard from Triple M's 'get this' that Radio Birdmans singer? ( maybe wrong) was a US airman? and he was the inspiration for the 'iceman' charactor????

  • Great song and band but the singer had a bad hair(piece) day..he he he...

  • that hair.. dear god its beautiful

  • pre-Nirvana

  • @jerryru Shit you're right

  • @Rockero: There's a australian band called Radio Birdman, maybe it is what you were talking about. But it was not in the sixties...The guy has the longest hair i've seen in rock'nroll!!!

  • umm i have a question, one time i heard a punk dude listening to this like this psyco genre i never heard before and it sounded like a lady screaming, but it wasnt hardcore punk or street it was something different, anybody got any suggestions of what genre or band that can be¿

  • @TheRockero17 It can be a lot, but the first thing that comes to my mind is grindcore. It could also be powerviolence or noisecore.

  • Punk comes from 60s music. Romones where "The first punk" band that created their style from the early 60s Mod and 50s rockabilly.

  • TRY TO FIND LOS SAICOS DEMOLICIÓN

  • I don't think this would be garage punk...

    THIS ISSS!! 1964 FROM LATINOAMERICAA!!

  • This song fu*king rocks!

  • wtf....no guitar cord at 1:30

  • @HelmutVonSphincter

    Probably audio recorded separatly.

  • Is that thing on that guy's head alive or dead?

  • this song still Kicks my Heel man! x0D

  • WOW WOW WOW WOW!

holy shit! thanks for posting this! i have never heard this before! 5 stars!

  • Great! I was in Sydney in 1968, but The Atlantics were not as huge hits as were the Beach Boys in the USA at the same time. Promotion and air-play was probably the difference. Well done for The Atlantics! BTW, in this video the singer's head had a ceramic image of human hair attached with epoxy cement to his skull.

  • Great song; no wonder the radio stations ignore it.

  • didn't know kevin neeland could sing so well

  • Thanks for putting this one up!! Not only is this a great song, it inspired me to fashion a sea sponge or some brain coral into a wig!!!!

  • Mad hair,or is it a carbon fibre hat???

  • Great song!! hes scary and hypnotising haha.

  • Big Jim Hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the name of this song?!?!?!

  • Come On.

  • Great!!!

    5 Stars

  • The music is all right, but this hair is a shit. Some plastic helmet or real?

  • Are these the same Atlantics who recorded Bombora?

  • Bugsweed: Yep, same band.

  • That guys hair is righteous.

  • Lead singer's voice is kinda Eddie Vedderish, : )

  • Never thought I'd see a clip for this absolute Oz '60's punk rock classic - FANTASTIC!! THANK-YOU

  • Why call this "Garage Punk"? It's excellent. I agree that Australia has had its share of great musicians, and I particularly liked the Easybeats. You could also have added the 1980s group "Men at Work" to your list of great Aussie musicians. And I wouldn't dismiss Rolf's contribution, either...

  • @Galericulus

I can't believe you. Are you about 14? He calls it Garage Punk because thats what it was labeled. Lester Bangs called it Punk Rock BEFORE Malcum McLaren. And yes I know I can't spell. And yes I also Know I Am Old.

  • Labelled when, and by whom? I have never seen this label before. And I am probably older than you are. And who is Lester Bangs?

  • @Galericulus

Google him...No you can't be older than me and not know who Lester Bangs is. I was Born Sept. 2 1962

  • @duanerichardson. Looked up this Bangs character on Wikipedia, following your polite and charming invitation. Can't see that I have missed much, or that he has anything to do with either this group or this song.

  • @Galericulus "Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung" was a 1971 essay by Lester Bangs, later collected in a book of the same name. The essay, which talks about what would usually today be called garage rock, contains the phrase, "...punk bands started cropping up who were writing their own songs but taking the Yardbirds' sound."

This is believed one of the first uses of the word "punk" to refer to a type of rock music.

  • I don't believe any bad Rock + Roll came out of Australia

  • What is with AC/DC? And after the 50s was almost everything better outside th USA .

  • if you had ANY sense of humor you'd of realized i was clownin but nah after the 50s their was SO much good music, are you serious?! that doesnt even include hendrix and theirs a lot more cold shit than that. your a clown. America created 20th century culture worldwide.

  • @benympls

You are the hugest NOB in the universe!

  • @chrisradano how often do u hear of ne bands from australia tho

  • @chrisradano Agreed!

  • @chrisradano what about Ac/DC!!!!!

  • @fortoate wtf, they aren't bad ! fuck you !

  • @chrisradano

_ and you live on what planet?

    U r a fuckwit then!!!

  • @OzPedro123 Excuse me, why such a harsh reply for a complementary comment? Do you understand what I wrote? A lot of people responded to my comment, I'm not sure any understood what I wrote. FU to you too, sir.

  • who knew Aussies could rock so hard?

  • Yeah!

  • This is actually kinda Devo, if you know what I mean.

Especially the singers hair, check out Devo "NewTradionalists"................

  • What is that on the singer's head??? Is that his hair??? :D

  • Lego hair!

  • @Natvagyok

If you like this Hair check out The Monks (The Band....Song...It's Monk Time!!)

  • It's Play Dough.

  • @wakamano it looks like lego hair!

  • @wakamano It looks like a Sea Cow or something. Maybe its a helmet pretending to be a sea cow.

  • @h0b0ch1c Helmet :D Dangerous... :)

  • @wakamano, his hair is a result of a boomerang injury.

  • @wakamano Ground beef?

  • @wakamano

    rock and roll android hair

  • These guys could've been so huge in the states...

  • Hes got a possum sitting on his head!

  • Dead Beaver

  • good animation good music good hairstyle.

  • i like the hair do

  • C'mon have a guess at the title!

  • wats the name of this song

  • Nice hair hat, dude.

  • this totally rocks man. i'm like totally freaking out. mate.

  • Its a wig!! Did he think we wouldn't notice??

  • to slammerworm1, fuckin'funny stuff, from an Aussie!!!!

  • Cool song, but sadly overshadowed by one of the worst wigs of all time. The guitarist in white pants bravely didn't bother, and the the drummer's hairline is a bit nebulous too (sorry, but the wig had me checking all of them). Speaking as a Kiwi, it does seem as if a remarkable number of Aussie rock musicians have been bald. There's one in every other band; it must be in the genes.

  • Where's the baldy in Acca Dacca? They're all still rockin the long hair

  • True. Then again, have you seen Angus without his hat on lately?

  • Haha very good point. I was hoping you wouldn't bring that up actually ;)

  • I suspect the hair of Kiwi rock musos is preserved by the lanolin-rich wool of their groupies.

  • Touche, Priscilla.

  • Who is singing "come on" in the background? The band isn't, maybe they have back up singers behind the stage.

  • Hee! At 1:00, the bassist on the left MOUTHS, "Come on" after the "Come on-ing" has stopped.

    Wonderful song!

  • what'sthat Playmobil haircut ?

  • LOL the hair!!

  • Oh enough with the hair already! Stop stating the obvious. Besides, this is a great song. Anyonw know the name of this tune?

  • "Come On" by The Atlantics. You can find it on disc 4 of the Nuggets 2 box set.

  • Thanks so much!!
