Ghostbusters is one of those projects where you need great comic performance that walks hand in hand with 'appropriate' effects.I'd say, give it to Kevin Smith to Direct and Johnlandis/RobertZemeckis to exectutive produce. If it comes across as 'Amazon Women from the Moon meets Tron', you might have gone too far? This may be something that has a lot of material, like Chriton's 'Timeline', but the effects stunk. Personally, I'd love to see 'Ghostbusting' balanced with Characters who have grown.

I thought they said Sigourney's character broke up w/ Venkman shortly after GB1, got married and had a kid, and has split w/ the guy shortly before GB2 began. Anyway, Bill Murray isn't going to do GB3, from what I've heard. And I hope he doesn't. They should just realize the first two are classics, going back now could only be a letdown.
It's great that Bill Murray really backs Ernie Hudson in getting alittle more scrrentime for a 3rd film. He got decent shine in the last 2, but really could've gotten a bit more! I love that man Bill Murray, he's so cool! :-)

If a Ghostbusters 3 is going to be made, I want the same actors playing the main characters. There cannot be new actors or else this movie is going to be shit.
Bill Murray isn't really going to be in Ghostbusters 3. He said himself that he may have a small part in the beginning of the movie and then they are going to kill him off in the first scene.
Dude, the story HAS to change! You can't honestly expect four fifty-something actors to bring back the same old routine and expect it to be a success. Of course there are going to be new(younger) characters, new concepts, and new effects. Nobody wants to see a sequel(that no one in this generation can relate to) unless it appeals to the type of film experience todays audience expects. The original films are so lacking in contemporary appeal now that they barely get edited by cable anymore. HINT!

NO! We need new "cadets" I agree with everything you said apart from that. The original cast are just too old, think about it would it really seem real or more exiting if it were the older cast. The movie just wouldn't flow. Of course have all the original cast members in it.. "passing the torch" as they have said. It works. Yes it wouldn't be the same. But it will never be the same as the first two films. even with CGI, the cast have changed as people since the first. it makes sence.
One thing I'm worried about would be Hollywood's tendancy to over-use the CGI. I hope it's not gunna be all blue screened. Heck I wanna see puppets again, not just actors pretending to fight CG animation. I'm sure the effects would be amazing anyway, seeing as tho it's gunna be made now, but just be subtle about it. In other words, keep George Lucas and Michael Bay well away from the project!!

From the sound of it. Their basing Ghostbuster 3 off of the extreme Ghostbusters cartoon series, which am OK with. due age of the actors. The extreme Ghostbusters was made back in 1997. It was alright, but it wasn't near any where as good as the original ghostbusters.

Well all I can say is I hope you're right. If they put entirely new people in Ghostbusters 3, it would not even be qualified as a Ghostbusters movie whatsoever. The most important thing is that the 4 original characters are playing the Ghostbusters, because that's how it started in the original. If the whole movie was CG, it would not look like a Ghostbusters movie. Both the previous Ghostbusters movies were ALL Live-Action. It's about the characters, NOT special effects.

The TMNT CG Movie was good. It has implements form the novels, comic books, live action movies, and cartoon. But since none of you were true fans and can't usually read, they hated it.

Interesting thoughts on the third movie. However, I'm not a big fan of sequels in general as they are almost always a letdown. G.B. is one of the best films ever made and one of my all-time favourites. It was never intended to have a sequel but Harold and Dan were pressured into it by the film studio and it showed. I hated G.B. 2 and have no interest in seeing the third. Besides, you can guarantee that about 90% of it will be C.G.I. whether we want it or not.
I'm Also 100% agreed to your opinion, we really don't need anybody to do this, plus the third installment should be the ender of the ghostbuster series. no offense to anyone who wants to keep the ghostbuster legacy going, I myself is a huge fan of the ghostbuster and I would love nothing more than to continue the legacy, but eventually has to end and I think The Ghostbuster 3 would be the best time to end it. since the main cast is not getting any younger and neither i am.

From the sound of it. Their basing Ghostbuster 3 off of the extreme Ghostbusters cartoon series, which am OK with. due age of the actors. The extreme Ghostbusters was made back in 1997. It was alright, but it wasn't near any where as good as the original ghostbusters.

Well all I can say is I hope you're right. If they put entirely new people in Ghostbusters 3, it would not even be qualified as a Ghostbusters movie whatsoever. The most important thing is that the 4 original characters are playing the Ghostbusters, because that's how it started in the original. If the whole movie was CG, it would not look like a Ghostbusters movie. Both the previous Ghostbusters movies were ALL Live-Action. It's about the characters, NOT special effects.

The TMNT CG Movie was good. It has implements form the novels, comic books, live action movies, and cartoon. But since none of you were true fans and can't usually read, they hated it.

FYI, in case no one told you this before, but Oscar was not Venkman's son. Oscar was the product of another relationship after Dana and Peter broke up. Look back at Peter's dialogue in the 'stool sample' scene in Ghostbusters 2.

Interesting thoughts on the third movie. However, I'm not a big fan of sequels in general as they are almost always a letdown. G.B. is one of the best films ever made and one of my all-time favourites. It was never intended to have a sequel but Harold and Dan were pressured into it by the film studio and it showed. I hated G.B. 2 and have no interest in seeing the third. Besides, you can guarantee that about 90% of it will be C.G.I. whether we want it or not.

I'm Also 100% agreed to your opinion, we really don't need anybody to do this, plus the third installment should be the ender of the ghostbuster series. no offense to anyone who wants to keep the ghostbuster legacy going, I myself is a huge fan of the ghostbuster and I would love nothing more than to continue the legacy, but eventually has to end and I think The Ghostbuster 3 would be the best time to end it. since the main cast is not getting any younger and neither i am.

Rick morranis retired from acting. Also, that Idea for the 3rd movie sounds great! Its the logical way to continue the story after the game WHICH IS PART OF THE OFFICIAL SERIES. Also, its not realistic to do your idea. Bill Mury is unlikely to do a major role and harriold ramis is way too obese to be likely to act and be believable. The end of the ghostbusters game (the voice over during the credits).

I didn't read all the posts but I will. In response to this video, I agree that yea no new kids and just keep it original. But as for Ghostbusters 1 being better I disagree. I like two better because it had better music On our Own and Lifting me Higher among the original song. No Marshmellow man but it had Giant Statue of Liberty Nintendo stick operated ha. Vego was excellent. Jeneen got hooked up with Moranis. I own the movies i'm going to watch them tonight. Ah I hope they are redone in 3D!!!

During a press junket for Avatar, Sigourney Weaver let slip that Bill Murray's character Peter Venkman would feature in the movie as a ghost and that Oscar Barrett (the son of her character) would have grown up to have become a Ghost Buster himself.
