@bigal616 i recommend you listen to joe bonamassa also a blues guitarist probably a bit heavier but very highly skilled i love both john and joe, probably john's songs more but i think joe edges john on guitar.

It's funny you would say that because the crossroads solo he played here is entirely based off of the Clapton solo from the Wheels of Fire album. He takes some of the key licks, keep the arrangement, and the phrasing is very similar as well. It's great that he played it on a Gibson SG too, because that's what Clapton played that solo on. Very conscious homage to one of his heroes
