Great little pocket blade! Got one, and it's like a Razor Blade with a comfy little 3 Finger handle. Just a Heads up to my Left-Handed Brutha's and Sista's.....for a leftie, the chisel grind works to your advantage. ; )
@andris4 It depends on the steel and grind geometry. Chisel grind is easy to sharpen because you spend less time sharpening the flat side of the blade. It will dull quicker than convex grind but it is sharper. Your question seems simple but it is complex. You will need to understand the difference in steel composition and blade geometry.
@elbowroomtube I rarely carry knives for EDC purpose (mostly defensive purpose) But I highly recommend it if all you need is small/light knife to do office tasks. This one is very offensiveless.
@oromoto Thanks oromoto. I appreciate your recommendation and I enjoy your reviews. You cover all of the critical points of knife reviewing with well thought out commentary. Very helpful.
Just picked one of these up. Thanks again for the review... You should do a comparison vid to the Spyderco Dragonfly. The blade length and even shape are pretty spot on. Obviously different blade steels, grinds, locks, but whatever. I'd actually be curious to see how the Leafstorm compared in size to both of those!!! Sue
oh damn. i just saw this one online and now you have one. cool man. you are always on the cutting edge of knives. you always have the new and best thing out in knives. thanks for sharing your collection. i love the blade shape on this baby. isnt that a crappy law. they have to have a two handed opener. well it has to look that way. most you can still thumb open even with no thumb stud. that blade is thick isnt it? compare this baby to a stainless dragonfly. love your comparison vids.
@oromoto I dont know man. You could texture the handles, skeletonize the liners and refinish the blade. I find that small knives are easier to refinish.
@100eyes Is there such thing as left and right hander chisel grind? I didn't know about it. But I have seen many custom right handed Striders with the same side of grind though...
@oromoto With the tip pointing away from you, if the flat side is on the left it's right-handed.
I believe it comes from Japanese chef knives, where the flat side is leaned against the hand holding the food down and gives it a straight cut, while the bevel on the opposite side causes the sliced food to be pushed aside and fall over.
@100eyes Ahh... very interesting! I read it some where also. Although I think with the flat side on the right gives you more precision when you are cutting/shaving though because you always see the flat side (for right hander). I am just being picky actually lol :)

Since this blade is so easy to sharpen, will it quickly become dull again?

@oromoto Thank you! I have been looking to buy this knife myself, and the chisel grind seems okey :)

Are you still carrying this Nopal? Do you find the bladeshape useful; effective.
Overall would you recommend for EDC?

I was totally into this little thing until you said it was chisel ground. Why on earth would anyone do that to a nice blade like this?!
evilsquirrel56231 10 months ago
@evilsquirrel56231 Yeah I am not a big fan of chisel grind neither, but think of it this way. It is much easier to sharpen and it is razor sharp.

I just bought 2. Thanks for featuring them!

Cool. I think I will pick one up. I dont like the design, but for 30 bucks it looks to be built quite well. Looks to be a good modification platform.

@EDCgearreviews It's build really well for $30 bux, not much room for modifications though.
