You have a point, but then again, so does wasdpq. The event was poorly managed, but the others (athletes, officials, citizens, etc) did not see this. It is a backstage quarrel, where the performers don't see what the crew did to help them. Without them, none of the lighting or sound would be there. In fact no one would raise the curtain for them. Yet, the applause goes to the performers, not the crew. I am a backstage crew member, this is how i best express it. Hope you understand

Fuck YOG and LTA. You may ask us to give way, but by implementing a fine, you're not giving us a choice. I believe that by having a well-planned schedule and ensuring sufficient time is being allocated for travelling, then there isn't a need for such silly rules to follow.

@haikallp Im not against the YOG in fact I'm proud that our country played host to the world's first YOG. However there are too many problems and inconvenience created by the YOGOC which irks me. If it isnt for their lousy management, there wouldn't be so many complains spread across the internet and newspapers. Need me list them?

Oh sure, I got "national recognition" that somehow managed to bypass me and go to the ministers. I got food poisoning from the bloody fucked up melted food containers. Blacked out due to dehydration. Came back home at 2 am and got detention for being late the when I went to school, half dead, hungry and sleepy. Don't fucking talk to me about effort put in

@wasdpq I'd like to think that if you bothered to be involved with the YOG you would have weighed the pros and cons. Just because it's such a big-scale event doesn't mean you can blame the event for a personal problem. If you know the time and effort you put in will cause you to cut back on your studies/sleep-whatever-else-yo­u-do, then don't join the YOG. You don't mess your life up because of an event. You mess it up by lacking the personal responsibility to do the necessary.

Reading some of the comments really makes me realise why it is necessary for this kind of "nanny" rules and regulations. There are too many idiots out there who would would not give a damn of this if not for the FINE! Social grace really has a long way to go with too many people with 3rd world manners living in a 1st world country.
