  • Ah, if only TV on Sundays was like this nowadays. The aging process is so heartbreaking sometimes.

  • speak thy spirit speak!

  • The music lent a very lyrical, melancholy atmosphere to this...wonderful stuff

  • RIP Robin Davies

  • The greatest children's programme of ALL TIME. (Did you see what I did there?) This series transformed Sunday afternoons! Geoffrey Bayldon's finest hour. He was the first choice to play the Doctor. Ironically, Jon Pertwee turned down the role of Catweazle! Both were to appear together a few years later in another children's classic 'Worzel Gummidge'. It' a strange world......Be seeing you!

  • "Art thou Norman?"

    "No, I'm Edward!"

Priceless! Thank you for posting this!

  • LOVE this series :-)

  • Love this - like a precursor to Merlin!

  • @consul1957 ~ "just sayin'" are you ?. Quite possibly the most irritating saying that's crept into the English language. "Just sayin" . What are you "just sayin" you fucking cretin ?

  • @RipCruncher1 You are mocking the mocker. Tis you that is the cretin!

  • @torquesport ~ Barely. I can speak English.

  • @consul1957 they didn't speak modern English either, something to look back on whistfully..just sayin, ya get me? Yes, I know the form...vituperation; I shall follow your inevitable imperative, right now.

  • Oh thank you for putting this up!

  • great spirits i thank you

  • THANKS FOR UPLOADING THIS GREAT FAMILY SERIES STARRING GEOFFREY BAYLDON AS THE GREAT CHARACTER CATWEAZLE WHO COULD ONLY BE PLAYED BY THIS GREAT CHARACTER ACTOR WHO MADE HIM IS OWN . BRINGS BACK ALOT OF MEMORIES FROM 1969!!

  • @DRAINPIPE57 it's the first time i have seen this since it first came out .

  • this was WAY ahead of its time entertainment wise!

  • yay, thank you, cracks me up every time i see it, cheers : )

  • Beautifully written and beautifully acted....Geoffrey Bayldon owns the role of catweazle, there can never be another

  • This was one of those superb, brilliantly acted series that was a "must watch" for all the family. There is a discussion on IMBD discussing who could play the part of Catweazle in 2011. I think the original, Geoffrey Bayldon, will take some beating.

    Many thanks for sharing this.

  • Geoffrey Bayldon would have made an amazing Doctor Who, apparently he turned down the role twice!

  • @Squidgington He did play an alt. 1st Doctor in the Big Finish audios Doctor Who Unbound

  • @SuperWolsey Funnily enough I found that out just after posting my comment. I hope to get around to listening to them at some point. Have you heard them?

  • @Squidgington Sure have. They're fantastic! Wish John Nathan-Turner approached him for The Five Doctors instead of Richard Hurndall (courtesy of Ian Levine's involement)
