Does anyone remember a small Canadian band that had a song called "On our way" or something like that? Their music video was the band sliding on tubes & crazy carpets in the snow. Please help!! It's driving me crazy!!!
@mixxycan Holy shizzer! You are amazing! Thank you so much for the link. I kinda pride myself with having a nice collection of the not so popular yet amazingly catchy songs from back in the day and have been kicking myself for losing this one! I can almost smell the snow melting in the spring back when I first heard this tune. I am in debt to you! Now, I only have one more song to hunt down....and all I have to go on is an R&B bass riff from 1994. :-) Take care
I remember hearing this song in high school in the mid '90s...been trying to remember the name of the band for a long time. Glad I finally managed to dust off that part of my brain here in '11.
There are far too many Canadian bands from this period that where over looked in The States. Sucks for both the musicians who could have made a few more loonies, and for the Americans who never got to hear them.
@Saintaw Edwin is a bartender in Toronto, and Jagori is working on new IME material. Brian Byrne said he'd record vocals when the band is ready to get into the studio again.
As crushed as I was when Edwin was booted out of the band, I'm glad it happened. If he'd stayed, they would have gone all gay like OLP because he was the big fairy who wanted to sell out. Brian wasn't as good of a frontman although his voice was just as good or better than Edwin but it just didn't work. I think it's better the way it happened because this way IME has two bookends and everything between those bookends was fucking genius. Man I miss the Canadian rock scene of the mid-90's.
Dear America, we are very sorry for justin beiber. I mother Earth is our apology. if you accept, we will forgive you for lady gaga. sincerely, Canada.
The more you download pirated music, the less we see good music. Stop stealing and then complaining about the quality of your stolen goods. If you like music, support music. And no, I don't work in the music industry. I'm a child of the 90s where I saw great music being made, and now I see very little of it. Stop the bleeding.
Downloading has nothing to do with the disappearance of "good" music. People download lady gaga and justin bieber just as much as anything else, but that's the music that sells the most so that's the music that is made. That's why it's called "pop" music, because it's popular.
@airehk Think you're pretty much on the money there - the music right now is so trashy and disposable (certain almost unheard of artists like Porcupine Tree, Anathema and Opeth notwithstanding).
SOPE the new band outa Mississauga Ontario is covering this at marcellos bar and grill in streetsville. I'm the lead singer and boy is it fun to sing! Love this tune
@johnnybj2k that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Edwin was a chump that had a pretty voice, the drummer wrote the vast majority of the material and the musicianship is fantastic. Edwin was the only expendable member of the band.
@Baruchio654 I see your point but still... being able to sing and have a good character while singing is not expendable. The sounds of Edwin's voice is exactly what gave this song its edge.
As Much as I like I Mother Earth, this is the biggest single of their entire career. when Scenery and Fish came out on CD back in 97, i was one of the first to get it. The whole Cd is pretty good, but this is the best song on the album. Edwin went on to do a solo career and I Mother Earth found a new lead singer from Canada.
The generation that came before will always think the next generation sucks. People who grew up in the 80's probably thought the 90's sucked. The 90s had a lot of good grunge bands and alternative bands, but the late 90s also yielded the likes of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys.
Free energy technology exists! But the big oil corporations don't want that technology revealed,Get the blueprints for a real Magnet motor free enegy machine at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Start the energy revolution!
i saw IME perform their 2nd last and final concerts together as a band with Edwin. 2nd was in my home town in Kelowna BC and the last was at Edgefest in Vancouver the next afternoon. What an awesome 2 days of music.
i hear mixed things about edwin. according to jagori and christian he was just a hired singer and they did all the songwriting etc. but other people say that edwin was the soul of IME. thoughts?
@RamboSechs I think they say that because he had more success without them than they had without him... and like '4through6strings' says just listen to his past solo stuff and now, and you will see more consistency on his end then you will see on IME's end
@hthjason so? saying "And im a led zeppelin and pink floyd fan" isn't needed. i just dont get why you had to say that. im a zeppelin and floyd fan myself and when i say i like a band i dont include that i like zeppelin and floyd... its completely irrelevant
I've had the honor of taking Edwins pic repeatedly over the last few weeks. Coolest rock star I've met yet. Him and Crash Karma are pretty damn awesome. Not the snots you'd think stardom turns you into, rather great guys to meet with and have drinks with. When Crash Karma plays this one live, crowds erupt. They ever do a Tea Party cover. Great live show!
I picked up scenary and fish back in the day after seeing this video on Much. the album had some multimedia functions on it too. I used it on my Mac Performa!
@steverzilly There is no real difference between the 90's, or any other generation of music and now.
