  • Why is it that the 90's has better music then this decade the 2010's?

  • 90's is my favourite decade

  • one more astronaut kicks butt

  • This was the 90's? Could be any day.

  • I love this song, it's sad to think that Edwin is now a bartender and living with his mom :(

  • @mattysavs you should see the newest member of the band........He works at a tattoo parlour in peterborough ontario........looks like a junkie......

  • 90's were the best!

  • Does anyone remember a small Canadian band that had a song called "On our way" or something like that? Their music video was the band sliding on tubes & crazy carpets in the snow. Please help!! It's driving me crazy!!!

  • @wggunter By Divine Right - "Come for a Ride" watch?v=JTh1foOWi1M (Oh the memories)

  • @mixxycan Holy shizzer! You are amazing! Thank you so much for the link. I kinda pride myself with having a nice collection of the not so popular yet amazingly catchy songs from back in the day and have been kicking myself for losing this one! I can almost smell the snow melting in the spring back when I first heard this tune. I am in debt to you! Now, I only have one more song to hunt down....and all I have to go on is an R&B bass riff from 1994. :-) Take care

  • @wggunter Glad to help! For some reason, I always remember that song and video, too. Also check out Feist before the fame!

  • I remember hearing this song in high school in the mid '90s...been trying to remember the name of the band for a long time. Glad I finally managed to dust off that part of my brain here in '11.

  • can't believe i'd forgotten about these guys!!! Awesome!!

  • Thanks so much for uploading! One of my fav songs from the 90s for sure.

  • thanks for uploading this Danielle!!! hope you are still enjoying the TRUE north, when ya coming back for a visit again??

  • you guys are good!!!!!!

  • yeah sorry for justin beiber and all other "stuff" like that ... IME rocks....bw.

  • great lyrics

  • F@ckin awesome song f@ck

  • hell no i won't forgive them for lady kaka

  • There are far too many Canadian bands from this period that where over looked in The States. Sucks for both the musicians who could have made a few more loonies, and for the Americans who never got to hear them.

  • whats the song by smashing pumpkins that sounds very similar to this one???

  • @Kompton187

    Cherub Rock

  • @Kompton187 Are you thinking of 'Zero'? It's the song with the line, "Wanna go for a ride".

  • @kingsdun yes

  • I always remember thinking the guy in the video was cute (not the singer, the dude walking around).

  • This Video is so funny!

  • Bring back LOVE/HATE!

  • Is Edwin not still frontlining Crash Karma? very cool sound from them as well.

    LOVE OLD IME!

  • What happened to this band? I miss 'em and I want more!

  • @Saintaw Edwin is a bartender in Toronto, and Jagori is working on new IME material. Brian Byrne said he'd record vocals when the band is ready to get into the studio again.

  • As crushed as I was when Edwin was booted out of the band, I'm glad it happened. If he'd stayed, they would have gone all gay like OLP because he was the big fairy who wanted to sell out. Brian wasn't as good of a frontman although his voice was just as good or better than Edwin but it just didn't work. I think it's better the way it happened because this way IME has two bookends and everything between those bookends was fucking genius. Man I miss the Canadian rock scene of the mid-90's.

  • This is a fuckin' kick ass song........been a long time since I've heard it.....thanks for posting!!!!!

  • @lookingforfun70 Check out "Rain Will Fall" by I Mother Earth as well.

  • Dear America, we are very sorry for justin beiber. I mother Earth is our apology. if you accept, we will forgive you for lady gaga. sincerely, Canada.

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 LMAO!..........well said, well said.

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 hahahahaha fuckin eh!!

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 Don't speak for my country again thanks.

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 Lady GaGa...I mother Earth....one and the same. Generic crap............

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 Don't forget Nickelback! I guess Our Lady Peace makes up for them a little.

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 pfff Beiber was our payback for Miley Sirus :P

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 LMFAO...awesome comment my friend,i definitely agree 100%

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 this America

    we accept your apology

  • This is when Canadian music didn't suck

  • @Canadianbassist Broken Social Scene's good, breh.

  • 90s >:C

  • I remember back when the rock station played bands like this! 90s were definitely the best time for radio music

  • @xasthurhead 90s where the best time for MANY MANY more things then just radio music lol

  • @Biberhofer, haha I definitely agree there.

  • @Biberhofer well said.

  • @xasthurhead Ottawas best rock The Bear plays oldies all the time

  • Is that the guy that's plays Dr. Doom in the fantastic four flicks???

  • @NaTaSBlood Yes it is. Julian McMahon.

  • I saw these guys in Shreveport WAY back. Awesome.

  • First music video I ever saw back in the day.

  • This video doesn't have enough views... someone should do something about this.

  • yup i was...my bad

  • It soooo pisses me off when people say good music doesn't exist anymore. Go look for it, fuck. It's out there.

  • Wondering why I'm here at all

  • Reminds me a little bit of Soundgarden

  • 13 people think beiber is cool

  • Whup...my bad

    :(

  • Scenery and fish is an our lady peace album, not IME

    just so you know....LOL

  • @Akragonus No, OLP did Happiness is a Fish You Can't Catch not Scenery and Fish. The uploader got the album title right.

  • The more you download pirated music, the less we see good music. Stop stealing and then complaining about the quality of your stolen goods. If you like music, support music. And no, I don't work in the music industry. I'm a child of the 90s where I saw great music being made, and now I see very little of it. Stop the bleeding.

  • @oriondg

Downloading has nothing to do with the disappearance of "good" music. People download lady gaga and justin bieber just as much as anything else, but that's the music that sells the most so that's the music that is made. That's why it's called "pop" music, because it's popular.

  • The only IME song available on itunes.

  • CANADA! w00t

  • Is the lead singer Edwin?

  • Och aye the loo

  • man's having a bad day, aye?

  • @airehk Think you're pretty much on the money there - the music right now is so trashy and disposable (certain almost unheard of artists like Porcupine Tree, Anathema and Opeth notwithstanding).

  • SOPE the new band outa Mississauga Ontario is covering this at marcellos bar and grill in streetsville. I'm the lead singer and boy is it fun to sing! Love this tune

  • I HATE RADIO EDITS

  • I like that all the other Suggestions over here ---->

Are also from 90s Muchmusic Big Shiny Tunes compilations.

  • amazing amazing song I wish they were still together..

  • @airehk big time!!

  • oh to be 16 again....nah feck it! Still loving this track!!!!

  • Love all their music

  • I mother earth was nothing without Edwin!

  • @johnnybj2k that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Edwin was a chump that had a pretty voice, the drummer wrote the vast majority of the material and the musicianship is fantastic. Edwin was the only expendable member of the band.

  • @Baruchio654

actually it was the brothers that wrote everything.

  • @Baruchio654 I see your point but still... being able to sing and have a good character while singing is not expendable. The sounds of Edwin's voice is exactly what gave this song its edge.

  • @Baruchio654

And yet nothing memorable has really come from them since he departed. Stupid, no just fact.

  • As Much as I like I Mother Earth, this is the biggest single of their entire career. when Scenery and Fish came out on CD back in 97, i was one of the first to get it. The whole Cd is pretty good, but this is the best song on the album. Edwin went on to do a solo career and I Mother Earth found a new lead singer from Canada.

  • edwin was slinging drinks in a bar like a year ago.....

  • This was first band i ever seen live they opened with this song and totally rocked it. miss the 90's

  • yep IME proves that there was solid 90's rock bands.... does everyone love it ? no but it is what it is , good musicians kicking ass.

  • 10 people were beaten out for the position of that one more astronaut.

  • The generation that came before will always think the next generation sucks. People who grew up in the 80's probably thought the 90's sucked. The 90s had a lot of good grunge bands and alternative bands, but the late 90s also yielded the likes of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys.

  • Free energy technology exists! But the big oil corporations don't want that technology revealed,Get the blueprints for a real Magnet motor free enegy machine at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Start the energy revolution!

  • this guy's having a bad day

  • I cant believe this is so old and I only heard it for the first time a month or more ago.

  • friggin awesome shit

  • Does anyone know what that video and artist is?

    - woman wearing yellow and blue. a band small and she picks up a small piece of the microphone at the end of the video?

  • Ahh, 90s Canuck rock. I miss it.

  • add him to facebook, edwin edwin

  • fawk i seen crash karma perform this song at rock on the range canada as edwin says before singin it that it takes him way back fuggen love this tune

  • i saw IME perform their 2nd last and final concerts together as a band with Edwin. 2nd was in my home town in Kelowna BC and the last was at Edgefest in Vancouver the next afternoon. What an awesome 2 days of music.

  • i hear mixed things about edwin. according to jagori and christian he was just a hired singer and they did all the songwriting etc. but other people say that edwin was the soul of IME. thoughts?

  • @RamboSechs just listen to edwins solo stuff you be the judge

  • @RamboSechs I think they say that because he had more success without them than they had without him... and like '4through6strings' says just listen to his past solo stuff and now, and you will see more consistency on his end then you will see on IME's end

  • ya whatever

  • This vid was made in a time when we still thought videos where special.

Little did we know how goofy it would seem IN THE FUTURE!

  • What is Edwin up to now?

  • @LaurenJustinKisa

    Crash Karma

  • @LaurenJustinKisa check out his new band Crash Karma

  • one of the better bands to come out of the 90s

  • @Love4SK check out his new band Crash Karma

  • i always cringe when i see the dudes bleeding toe heh heh.

  • i jizzzed!

  • I have this album sinc the release, and this song is one of my favorites

  • Refreshingly EPIC !!!! : ))

  • martinf74

did u check him out with "the pressure"...great cd

  • a very underrated song!! and band! this band should every person have more eyes on!!:D

  • shit....i just found out today my neighbor is brothers with the guitar player and drummer of this band !

  • ...bad video incredible song...

  • @Ippiti88 great video incredible song

  • One of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time.....and I'm a Zeppelin, Floyd fan!!

  • @hthjason ok? whats the significance of that?

  • @SoKrItIcAl Simply because those two bands have produced some "of the greatest r & r songs of all time".

  • @hthjason so? saying "And im a led zeppelin and pink floyd fan" isn't needed. i just dont get why you had to say that. im a zeppelin and floyd fan myself and when i say i like a band i dont include that i like zeppelin and floyd... its completely irrelevant

  • @SoKrItIcAl Hey aL....you ARE critical. In the great scheme of things...you sure do get upset about trivial things!! Really....who cares?!

  • @hthjason im just pointing out that liking this song has nothing to do with liking another band.

  • @SoKrItIcAl Hey aL....you ARE critical. In the great scheme of things...you sure do get upset about trivial things!! Really....who cares?!

  • I've had the honor of taking Edwins pic repeatedly over the last few weeks. Coolest rock star I've met yet. Him and Crash Karma are pretty damn awesome. Not the snots you'd think stardom turns you into, rather great guys to meet with and have drinks with. When Crash Karma plays this one live, crowds erupt. They ever do a Tea Party cover. Great live show!

  • I picked up scenary and fish back in the day after seeing this video on Much. the album had some multimedia functions on it too. I used it on my Mac Performa!

  • should check him out in Crash Karma now alot of their songs have this sound to them either way awesome song

  • this is when people actually thought about the music they were writing and not just trying to pump out shit singles to make money

  • @steverzilly There is no real difference between the 90's, or any other generation of music and now.

Yes there are alot of great bands from the 90's, however during that time we had heard these songs so many times on the radio that they blended into all the crap that was also produced during the 90's.

Time is the ultimate test of great music. In 10 years, people will be looking back at the great bands of today, and saying the exact same thing!!

  • @canmoore I remember in people in the '90s sayinjg just how much the music sucked that was coming out and that (insert decade) 's music was better.

  • @steverzilly believe me...there were lots of people just pumping out shit singles back then too just as has been in every era.

  • @steverzilly I absolutely agree with you. I wish more music sounded like this.

  • @steverzilly i totally agree with you on that

  • @steverzilly cough* Bieber

  • @steverzilly Most people dont realize that these lyrics hold a message, a message of great imortance, they were way ahead of their time. More and more people are able to understand these lyrics and also Morcheba have the same kind of lyrics, brilliant.

  • @steverzilly This is mindless nostalgia faggotry.

  • @Havermayer what does that even mean?? country fan are you?? that explains it.

  • @steverzilly sounds like a shit single to me

  • blackwater64 i mother earth came out before sum 41

  • What does that have to do with what he said SHAW?

  • I like I mother earth, however I didnt care for Edwins solo career.

  • reminds me of a mix between smashing pumpkins and sum 41 (sum 41 mostly cause how he looks, but pumpkins for the sound)

  • man i love i mother earth. just recently got into them. i love their style! gotta love the 90's!!! i wanna buy this album!

  • Rock on Edwin.

  • That was a great album..

  • Fuck the leaf man...

    PLANET EARTH.... ; )

  • u play modern warefare2 for ps3?

  • @ChronicDNA lawl no i play mw2 for xbox :P although i do play like lbp and uncharted on ps3

  • I wanna take this song behind the middleschool and get it pregnant!

My name on xbox live is OneMorAstronaut

My name on PS3 Network is OneMoreAstronaut

  • @RoyProductions101 you play halo?

  • @Agati93Raptors nah bra, the only game that i really play is kawd and not often at that

  • This is one of my favorite songs ! I wish more songs now a days sounded like this !

  • good song...shit video.

  • ok spielberg

  • funny u should say that, i just saw stp in kingston on the 21st, and crash karma opened for them, i thought that comment was just cool after that

  • edwin was canada's weiland back then lol, except he just didn't move like scotty!

  • I mother earth is awesome !!! scenery and fish i got that album :)

  • mmmm, a blond edwin...so amazingly hot!

I love IME...with both edwin and brian. both amazing singers.

  • ya he is super hot . i mother earth

  • I think that "Arnold looking guy" is in another sunday music video.

  • songburst & delerium might be their most talented song of all

  • In hinds sight I see how incredibly cheesy this video is. Song is great. Great band with BOTH singers.

  • edwin never shouldve left; the rest shouldnt have hired that other clown. this and dig are some serious fuckin albums!

  • i lovede this song back in the 90's, and still love it! Edwin rocks!!

  • first big shiny tunes???

  • cloud pump is their greatest song yet!!!! well actually now its more like ever lol

  • I liek Raspberry a lot more but for some reason this song did better, IDK

  • I feel the same about Songburst and Delerium.

  • Yes, it's the same guy.

  • i know edwin now, and he looks ALOT different!

  • Is this the same dude who was in Another Sunday, because he looks really similar?

  • dig was one of the most musically talented ( that sounds weird but you get the idea) albums ive ever heard production was an amzing bass song their drummer and guitar player are godly

  • the beginning of this song kind of sounds like audioslave's cohise

  • Wouldn't you mean Audioslave's Cochise sounds like the beginning of this song?

  • Comment removed

  • The 'big three' are in a new band TOGETHER. Edwin (IME), Mike Turner (OLP), Jeff Burrows (Tea Party) and my buddy Canadian buddy Amir plays Bass

  • I know ! how epic is THAT line up !!
