Well, it's an improvement on sitting in circles, beating on a drum, and it's more interesting to watch than Tai-Chi and films of natural childbirth. Tell me those yuppies leave their screeching infants at home while this is going on and you can count me in for a few hours every day.
amazing... did it twice last week. 60+ I walked out thinking if I die tonight it's OK. This is something everyone, fat, thin, old, young what ever should do. Don't dely. find it in your city and do it. its life altering.
Yes, I was afraid something was wrong with my computer, but I see others are experiencing the same problem with the audio quality? Beautiful concept, but I have to switch to something else. I hope the audio's breaking up can be fixed.
A friend recommended this to me in Australia. Ok, hate to sound cynical but if this if for everyone then why does this video only have people with exceptional looking bodies and above average looks and dancing ability? Have they spruced things up because this is a promo vid? Or if went along to a session, I'd find people of all sizes, ages, looks and dance ability. If so, then wouldn't it better to have a video that represents the average person?
@clumpft you might be right that it would be better to have a video that represented the average person but i went along to a class and IT IS a mixture of all kinds of people. Your looks, fitness etc couldnt matter less and after an evening of 'dancing your spirit' you'll find all people beautiful in their own unique ways. I have only been once but its a promise that it wasn't my last time.
@Mwayra6 ok, cool, maybe I'll drag my skinny-arse over to the next class in Melbourne then, ha ha, I've been looking for something to keep the Winter blues at bay.
@clumpft haha yeah get your skinny arse over there. You'll find you wont be the only one.. Im expecting the winter to be a lot worse here in denmark than down it is in Melbourne.
i love doing 5R classes - they have been life changing and profoundly healing, and the experience of sharing it with others is amazing.... if we all danced more it would be a much healthier happier planet!
Dear soulfuljourney, Gautama isnt around now but Buddha's are and they say it is an utter nonsense and a deep unconsciousness that trys to trademark dancing or meditation and shows a deep greed and ignorance. It's a money making scheme, it's ego power tripping - which are absolutely and categorically fine - it's just nothing to do with egolessness and truth.
Shame on all who trademark and copyright dancing and what is simply a good club night. Imagine if the first mixing dj trademarked the technique, or buddha trademarked his teachings? What a sad state of afairs that would be
she didn't copyright or trademark dancing. she developed a particular approach to it and a brand around it. dj's have their brands and names copyrighted and their particular mixes, etc... buddha didn't exist in a world where plagiarism and ownership was what it is in this culture or this time. or he would have likely had to copyright his teachings just for basic purposes. but a lot of that stuff can be stifling as well and the system may need an overhaul at some point.
I just have to say I really love this. I walk with crutches even, and your work taught me even I can dance. Seeing this reminds me to do it all the time, wondering why I haven't. Silly! Love it!
@fuckyoupop1 - you should try it sometime - it feels great! Let the ego/mind/ self consciousness go and just allow yourself to be free to experience the fun and joy of it. I guarantee you will feel good. Look for a class or teacher in your area that teaches 5 Rythms, and if not, then go to any ecstatic dance class/event. Or get a DVD and do it yourself at home. ( :
This Gabriel lady has certainly gone a long way with "how you look" considering that she says it's not important! As to the 'voice' . . . it sounds like she swallowed gravel and is so hoarse that maybe bourbon holds the key to what you Wolfgang calls "irresistable".
Allow me to finish with saying that I'm left with a feeling that I get from this woman, which feels controlling and whispy flaky in tone.
Otherwise, I wish her the best of luck . . . in a different venue.
I used to do something like this in my dorm room back in college to heavy rhythmic music. It gave me a natural high...and I lost weight and became more limber. I don't know how but my skin and hair became loads more healthy.

If you have problems with the sound try to switch to 240p, this worked for me. :)

The practice of 5 Rhythms is basically sound and eminently worthwhile.
But . . . this slick, wet-voiced, flowery-languaged, self-indulgent, visually over-produced promotion of it . . . is simply nonsense.
After watching this, one needs as antidote something like Johnny and the lads belting out "Pretty Vacant" . . .

A young man from Nigeria danced like this. After a week he started growing blonde hair. No Joke. The wave is powerful indeed.

it was cool. but why are the dancers so thin and the boys so beautiful if it doesn't matter? but it was really cool anyway.
