Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
a great gig two weeks ago at the black box belfast. "sea of love" personal fave performance. the songs lost none of their impact minus drums and bass. this band still have alot to offer !
They are doing individual gigs every now and then. I think they played the West Belfast Festival last weekend. There is some talk of new material being kicked around but I could not confirm that
God I loved The Adventures. Send My Heart was my all-time favourite. I read they are performing in Belfast this very night (22 May) gutted I didn't find out til just now or I'd have been on the boat out there!
Simply the best band ever. try out the website at adventures co uk for further information. thanks terry, pat , paul, tony, eileen and spud for making a difference.
What a fine band. I remember hearing The Adventures on Radio Forth here in Scotland performing a live set, around the time of their last record. It was around a half hour long with (from my dodgy memory) Feel The Raindrops, Come The Day, Marianne, Washington Deceased, Broken Land and one other which escapes my memory. Anyway, thanks for the wonderful music!
After 19 years I'm in absolute awe that I find both of you posting on here, right beneath the one and only, Broken Land. I'm now 36, living in Orlando, FL. I have been a HUGE fan of the band since Broken Land in '88. I managed to beg the ITV Chart Show to play the song on their Video Vault in the 90s and I saw you all play in south London also around late 80s/early 90s. Terry spotted me in the crowd wearing a t-shirt I had made with the letters 'The Adventures'.
Hi Pat , hope you are well . Bump into terry every now and then . I was the bass player in spoonfed sofa. we supported the dead handsomes a few times. Living in london now, doing a little on the blues circuit, Try to make rabs thursday nite gig when I am back . With Christmas coming up, I will keep a jar with your name on it. keep making great music! regards Matt
Great Band. Great Song. Did pretty well in the UK...as did the album SEA OF LOVE. Too bad this band never fully broke, as they deserved to. I still love all of their CDs/Albums...and am grateful to actually find some of their stuff on youtube. Thanks for posting this.
Hi Paul, Great song. I bought the album-'Sea of Love'years ago. Mentioned in the sleeve notes was to look out in the future for Brian Kennedy. Is that the Brian Kennedy? Also any chance you and the lads would reform?
Yes it is The Brian Kennedy... great singer...as for a reformation...
doubtful....at least not with me...haven't spoken to any of the Irish mob for over 10 years, Tony, the bass player, and I bump into each other once in a blue moon, but thats been a while too....I havent lived in England for years.
hi paul, it's me pat. hope you're well. i heard you on a radio phone in a few years back going on about bloody Chelsea. i always think back to that great day you drove up to my place from yours and took me to watch Westham beat 'em 4-0. if only it could be like that again. nevermind, you're boys are doing great these days. love and best wishes. pat
I see Terry the odd time playing in Antrim which is in Northern Ireland.I would have a conversation the odd time but the only problem I have is that with too many beers in me.He does play around our wee country but no Advertures songs as a rule they have with each other,They have played a few times in the last few years. Cheers and "Trading Secrets with the Moon" is still a fantasic album but really hard to get on cd so if you ever need a copy give me a shout.
Send My Heart is around on YouTube, although it's been deleted a few times. The version off the US Release is the one on video, and I think it's better than the one off "Theodore and Friends".
There were a lot of songs written about the Northern Ireland conflict, and most of them were complete airhead rubbish (Belfast Child, Boney M's Belfast) to name but two. 'Broken Land' however remains the best and most heartfelt statement on what was euphemistically called the 'troubles'. I lived through all that period and this still brings a tear to my eye. Absolutely beautiful and the accompanying album has some great moments too. Pity this is only a clip but better than nothing.
Let me find the whole video and I will post it...as well as the others I promised...I have a live concert we did for Channel 4 has about 7 songs from the Sea of Love album and a couple from Theodore and Friends.
Great - I'd love to see that. Good album. Gonna dig it out this weekend. :-) 'Broken Land' was excellent, brings back a lot of memories for me of that time, and 'Sea of Love', 'The Sound of Summer'... Can't get my hands on the earlier album tho, doesn't seem to be available anywhere! :-(
I remember you guys appearing on a Saturday morning show at the time, was it 'Saturday Superstore'? If you've got footage of that anywhere (or anybody else) then please post it, I'd love to see it again.
It wont be soon, but it will be eventually, I have a DVD of all the best TV we did...I'll get it up when I have a mo... The 1st LP is available on CD through ebay and a few collector's, dont give up, its out there...there is also an U.S. version of the first album, different artwork etc.
The Adventures are one of my all time favorite bands. I practically begged Rhino Records to rerelease "The Adventures" on CD or put out some sort of compilation.
Cheers to Crowderville and friends for fantastic music.
Wow no way! Bunch of nice looking guys there, how long did you drum for them? Did you play with other bands - all I ever had of this song up to now was a tape from the radio in 1988, never heard the song again.
I agree, this was an awesome song, I can't believe someone had the video. The lead does move a bit like Morrissey - nice looking guy, interesting voice.
THIS IS PURE CLASS.

Good though it is, "Broken Land" isn't a patch on the first LP material! Despite that I have all their LPs on vinyl and CD.
