As usual though this is fantasy. I've been on a thousand late night trains in Perth without guards and never faced this- mainly because not only will people handle it- the train driver would just stop the train- he can see al that on cameras.

i lived in midvale for a stint, perth is a funny city. it got rather gnarly at times where i was living. been in hairy situations on trains that remind me of this film, as late at night there aren't that many people on the train and if you get stuck with some random nutters well your stuck with them!

With respect .. it might just be going a tad too far to say that this is the best piece of Australian cinema that's ever been made. Especially as it's a low-budget job. There's nothing wrong with quality in creative art, of course. And this film does indeed seem to possess some interest. But, when the broad spectrum of wonderful Australian cinema history is considered in its full & proper light .. with adequate experience of same .. then I think the opening statement is shown to be 100% valid.

This is a brilliant movie and a must see. Didn't know when i first watched it that i'd end up driving Transperth Trains a few years later. And i have driven an actual last train to Freo (And wiah it had the same weird stopping pattern the movie train had - get home earlier).

i had the pleasure of spending a fair slice of my life traveling around queensland playing in a band with the writer and he also is the director of this movie. reg cribb back in the early 80's he was the singer. thats some great memories

This is an awesome film that deserved far more international acclaim. They didn't need to spend millions of AU$ creating dramatic stunts or visual effects. It's just straight forward excellent Aussie drama that works just right.. Highly recommended if you haven't seen it :)
