When you fight on the street (in real life situations) its best to take your top off before fighting in-order to stop people from grabbing your clothes and using it as leverage to throw or hold you. It's 1 of Street fightings fundamentals.

Depending on the situation of the fight, the ground your fighting on, the location of the fight, and how cold it is, it maybe better to take your top off. After all the best thing in a street fight is not to go to the ground because its not a ring and when people fight one on one they tend to grab and throw opponent to the ground.
