Ouch, reminds me of the time I was riding shotgun in a '68 Mustang that began sliding sideways on a grass median strip at 105 MPH. We struck a tree with the drivers side wheel and bounced off. Bent the wheel 45 degrees. If we had hit 2 feet further aft, it would have cut the car in half and I would not be writing this. The tree did not survive the impact ;-)

only problem with that is when it comes to playin chicken, you never know which way the other guys gonna go. In most cases you would turn back into your own side at the very last second, but sometimes you cant. A member of my dads band was killed in an accident involving a drunk guy playing chicken with her. she had to take the ditch and ended up smashing into a stream. she was on her way to a jamboree..
