  • This song is magical. I first heard it in a documentary called Visions of Light.

  • The Simpsons don't deserve to have this wonderful piece of music on their show.

  • This is incredible! For years, I've listened to EPCOT background music, and thought that the music was mostly original works... Now that I come upon this and hear it in such a spectacular setting--- I don't know! It's beautiful!

  • i like this.

  • when i hear this song i think of a forrest with unicorns, trolls and fairies and shit

  • Love it, What an honor to be french =)

    Well Half-blood french.

  • this song is just... beyond beautiful. very nice representation of it

  • one of my favorite pieces. it's so enchanting and ethereal

  • makes my hair stand on end... amazing!

  • @mohchambers that sounds awesome.

  • This piece is used quite frequently in horror movies...

  • 10 over 6 bitches.

  • Reminds me of Fantasia 2000 for some reason.

  • @Silverflame702 It was part of the soudntrack

  • @kfmaster0 Oh, no wonder xD! Thanks for the information ^^ I appreciate it.

  • Does anyone else feel this song is also like the up and down emotion in life... highs/ lows/ plateus?

  • Bonita cancion!!!! // beauty song!!!

  • My favourite piece in carnival of animals!

  • it always remember me of disney's the beauty and the beast opening =)

  • Love this song - when I was eight years old we did a puppet show set underwater - we went into the Headmistress's office and she looked to find some music that was appropriate. She knew her stuff!

  • Saint- Saens era bravissimoooooo!!! I love he!!!

  • Magic!!!!

  • sounds better with a theremin!!!!

  • As I walked through the dimly lit hallway, musty yellow lamps came to greet me and led the way as clocks of all form whirred and whizzed, each with its own character as if they had no sense of time themselves. Then I stopped. My heart faded and I smiled too with the lamps, my footsteps became their own voice joining in with the chorus of ever ticking clocks, and I fell into the darkness never to be lost, but forgotten all the same.

  • are they your own words?

  • I have goosebumps every time I hear this...

  • Some of the most beautiful music ever composed & played !

  • There is a boys choir called Libera and they have made a really good cover of this piece that is called Lacrymosa. If you haven't heard if before I think you should do it now! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! YOU WILL LOVE IT! :-)

  • God, it is so beautiful.

  • Genialeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • beautiful!!!!

  • this is my fav. clasic music

    it so beutiful

  • me,too!

  • In facts, the composer of the music of The Beauty and the Beast from Walt Disney inspired himself from this song for the Introduction's music...that's why you thought it was the same =)

  • it sounds also like music for the harry potter movie---

  • where can i get the piano sheet music :/

    i cant find it anywhere

  • Try to find it in "Dover Publications". You can find the full and orchestral score.

  • thanks

  • The tempo of this interpretation is excellent; neither too fast or slow. Thanks for posting it.

  • Guys im sry but this is not a part from Beauty and the Beast i can asure you for that,

Its similar but not the same you have an explanation on some other video for this part of music.

  • no armonica?

  • The person playing the armonica is on the extreme left of the picture, behind a violinist. ;0)

  • I thought i heard this song in Beauty and the Beast!!!

  • yeeeeeeeesss me too!! :D i thought that was only me xD

  • The beginning sounds a bit like something out of the Harry Potter Movies. Is it used in them?

  • auch zu hören bei den Simpsons

    D-Titel: Der perfekte Sturm

    US-Titel: The Wife Aquatic

    P-Code: JABF03

    D-Premiere: 03.11.2007

    US-Premiere: 07.01.2007

  • BRAVO!!!!!! This is one of the most powerfull peices of music that I've heard, that get the emotion out of you and you close your eyes -- like in The Simpsons where Marge would see things that brought back great memories from her childhood.

  • @crashrocks1994 I agree this is beautiful but have to also give random props for using a very relevant Simpsons quote on a beautiful classical piece also!! :)

  • this spooky theme would be perfect for a haunted house.

  • Just right for an enchanted castle, like Beauty and the Beast :)

  • Even though this song was composed so far back into the past, this is the most moving way people of that time have reached us...I can almost imagine their lives...

  • thats a nice way to see it, i sometimes have that feeling also.

  • This piece always gives me shivers, in a very good way.

  • Featured in the game Bully

  • and burnout paradise :)

  • It makes me shed tears, for something that is so beautiful, lovely, enchanting that words cannot describe thus tears flow.

  • Perfect word for this... enchanting

  • Beauty and the beast teehee :)

  • I've heard "Aquarium" used as the main theme in the film "Days of Heaven"; in car commercials; as the main theme in the documentary "Visions of Light"; "The main theme in an episode of "The Simpsons"; and played it on piano myself--But not nearly as well as this small orchestra. I'm grateful for this CHARMINGLY PERFORMED video.

  • it is in the beggining of disneys beauty and the beast i studied it and college

  • Actually, it is not a Disneyland song. It's a Disney World Song. Epcot, Paris Pavillion, to be exact. You will find it on the ride "L'Impressions des France"

  • It is featured in Beauty and the Beast (Disney version)!

  • actually, it's another song, that sounds like this one.

  • Sounds mysterious to me.

  • Comment removed

  • It's like a disney land song. but just begin.

  • indeed, much based on fantasy. it's one of the greatest songs ever composed.

  • this always reminds me of ren & stimpy

  • Love this!

  • where have i heard it?

  • Probably everywhere. Just joking. Seriously, it's the kind of pieces of classical music that's used in a lot in movies (which is not a bad thing).

You may have heard it in ''The curious case of Benjamin Button'' trailer. Or elsewhere, in another movie maybe...

  • If you've watched Beauty and the Beast, this is the underlying recurring music theme. =)

  • gosh...this piece is so beautyfull...

saint saens was a genius, I love his music.

  • It's also in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button!

Perfect for a movie thats so mysterious

  • Isn't this piece in Edward Scissorhands?

  • No, it's not.

  • Such mystery and beauty all captured in one piece of music. Ah, so lovely.

  • OMG please allow me to set the record strait....

This is NOT beauty and the beast!!!! that effin' pisses me off when people say that!! ....they sound completely different (go ahead and compare it if you don't believe me .. I dare you). They have similar aspects, but for christ sake please do not say this is disney.

  • beauty and the beast anyone?

  • The score for Beauty and the Beast was inspired by this piece so it's not the same as the score.... listen to the score for Beauty and the Beast and the two really are quite different....

  • im positive that its in Edward Scissorhands and Benjamin Button...

Whos comment were you replying to?

  • I was replying to you. It's in the trailer for Benjamin Button, but that's it. I own Edward Scissorhands and it's not in that movie either.

  • Oh okay. Thanks for clearing it up for me

  • it's in only the trailer for benjamin button but it's throughout the terrence malick's Days of Heaven. Great movie

  • just saw "Days of Heaven", amazing indeed, love the song :)

  • The fact that one man can dream up something like this is more than amazing

  • Just like in Harry Potter ;P

  • This is one of those songs where everyone knows it, but they don't know the title. It kinda drives you mad when that happens.

  • Chia-Lin Excellent job in Seattle Sept. 08

  • This guy truly was a genius. In the end, I'm always expecting some kind of kraken, or giant sea-snake to rise out of the water, and start raising havoc among the oceans. I think the fact that this is supposed to be part of a "carnival" themed composition is what freaks me out, because carnivals are done for pleasuring people who come and visit, but then you begin to question what goes on after hours when the mask of happiness is no longer apparent...it creeps me out just thinking about it.

  • This song is amazing, but I have to admit that it does creep me out. I envision a giant, naval blue sea that is larger than anything comprehended, with everything underneath mysteriously peaceful at first. It's like it's almost too peaceful...and so my mind turns the fantasy into a nightmare when I envision the water starting to foam, and get really cold, the sky clouding, and dark shadows from the deep rising. To add to it, creepy whirlpools form, and the seas get rough.

  • it's not a soundtrack music, it's a classical piece. Aquarium by Camille Saint-Saëns, un french composer between the 19th et 20th century.

  • i listen to this all day on burnout paradise

  • very charming. it's the best among the animals serious, i think.

  • I agree with you. Other pieces are more well known, or at least their titles are, but Aquarium moves me the most. And this is a really nice performance of it.

  • It's on everything

    even ren and stimpy

  • Is the sound track of Terences Malick's The day of haven. Great!!

  • this is the music from the bejamin button trailer. its so beautiful.

  • i love this such an under water feel to it, when i close my eyes i can see the fish in the great ocean he sure was a musical genius, i love the swan too

  • It´s great..nothing else to say!

  • Bravo!!!!!!

  • Amazing..!

  • wow... it gives you that ocean feeling...

    <3

  • so fairy feel.

    love it!!!

  • Fantastic Beautiful performance....

  • Amazing!

I love the positioning of the pianos! <3

  • also played on the "wife aquatic" simpsons episode---so surreal

  • Also featured in the 1976 film "Days of Heaven."

  • yes and wrongly attributed by some to ennio morricone

  • Who was a great composer in his own right

  • most definately

  • Not featured exactly, adapted is the more appropriate word.

  • Absolutely beautiful guys. You should be proud of yourselves!

  • Beatiful
