to clear things up the ELITE symbol around his character portrait was a ADDON back in wotlk which alowed you to have the elite symbol around yout neck. hope this sovles the problem once and for all.

There is a mount you can get from the zul'gurub dungeon though the swift zulian panther. You have to be level 85 have an ilevel of 345(I think it's that) and get extremely lucky with drop chance:)

There is 4 caves and it spawns in 1 every soo often and is only able to reach by flying in cata so good luck.
