I'd suggest reading a little bit of every religion before insulting it. Read the bible and the qur'an and THEN you can say your opinion and choose which religion you want to follow IF you want to follow one in the first place. I'd suggest watching the 'Comparing Christianity and Islam' video in the suggestions. Most of the facts are true, although I have spotted some smaller mistakes.
I personally think that it is irrelevant how many people follow a religion or a part of a religion. Since many people who are part of a religion don't agree with its teachings or participate in what they have to do in said religion. What I find is sad is how we are all insulting each other like enemies. Atheists included. I thought the first teaching in religion was to respect and to listen. Not everyone has to agree with you but that doesn't make them right or you wrong.
I dream of a world where all this will be irrelevant. I hope culture is retained, but a world rid of religion...beautiful. Take a look at Sweden, Finland, and Estonia, and you'll see what I mean.
fuck all religion!! all of you are killers, stealers ,corrupt. You all make the world a fucking shithole with no advances, we are dead in the water as a civilization and as a species!! The whole world would be a much better pace if religion was just gone or at least not so fucking retarded a extreme!!!!
i dunno what to say..i used to vaguely consider myself as Caotholic Christian
but as of now,the sole phylosophical/religious belief i would dig could be Buddhism...otherwise i can consider myself ,with a fair accurate certainness,as being Atheist as a whole, currently
the christian church count 2.1 Billion followers, but most of them like 99.9% of them sepecially in EU & America are not practicing, and they dont follow any religion nor they agree with the christian faith...
and many of them evin dont believe in God! but they show them selves christians, or record them selves just in documents....thast it
so Chrsitianity's memebers are less than 50 million...
Does it really matter which are the most wide-spread systems of expression of belief to the Almighty?
I personally believe that there is only ONE entity which we all call GOD. In fact, if all of you who so profusely defend your way of practicing the faith take a step back and see without blindfolds, you'll see that you (and I included) believe in the very same ONE
(Those who preach just diversified the way of faith, like all big corporations do with their products, to get a bigger market share)
@rashidkhan62 Don't forget that Islam came some 600+ years after Christianity and like you said it is growing faster than any other religion but the most important thing is that unlike the Christian religion, Islam is the most practised religion in the world and taken seriously.
I'm an athiest. My values are logic and human morality. I encourage other people to do so as it might make them open up more to the world. You do not have to though.
I am a christian but I think most christians were just baptized but don't practice christianity at all. I salute all those who practice theif beliefs :) Whatever religion we all have let's just be peaceful. God bless us all :)

Has anyone ever thought of how disappointed God must be with the human race for arguing, fighting, killing each other for centuries and even here on YouTube we do it, funny isn't it. Inshallah i will try to make myself a better human being and Muslim.
@alexokatana Perhaps I should've used an alternative word to brain, such as intelligence or free thinking, but then again it was meant partially as a tongue in cheek statement. From an atheists point of view, religion is always in your face, in the news and everywhere inbetween.
I am a little surprised by the numbers. I have no basis on which to doubt them, but I would have thought that given the number of people in China that either atheism or Buddhism would have had more followers than the figurs given here. Also, a lot of people in the West are baptised into Christianity as infants but as adolescents and adults never believe or practice it, but are instead atheists. I think very soon non-religious will be number one, if it isn't already.
@Xavi997 can you give me the link of your research then? oh wait. is that your research or the RussiaToday news research? thats not what you call research. its just sitting infront of a computer or a tv. hahaha.
@Xavi997 I have the right to have an opinion no matter what it is. I am aware of that some see my opinion as hate and I am ok with that, I don't care about what other people think of me or what I say/write.
HONESTLY, THE FUNNY THING HERE IN THIS WORLD, WE ,HUMAN BEING DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS NEXT., STILL WE HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO HATE, & A SMALL SPACE FOR LOVE. FORGET RELIGION,RELIGION IS BULLSHIT. JUST LIVE FREE, LOVE , & DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANYONE.
OUT OF THESE 10 RELIGIONS 3 ARE BORN IN INDIA AND 5 ARE HIGHLY PRACTICED!!!!!!! AND THE SIXTH (NON RELIGIOUS TOO).... REALLY FEELING PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN!!!!!
@ExtremeEnergyForce Yes there are. But that doesn't necessarily mean that religion is responsible for the ills of society like many atheists claim. "Religion" is no more responsible than "guns". It's none of these faults. The fault is human nature.
But its curtain that organized religion causes problems in society. To say religion is no more responsible than a gun, is comparing apples and bananas. A gun doesn't tell you anything, nor are you indoctrinated to carry one for the rest of your life. It takes a organized religion to make good people do questionable or even plain bad stuff.
@metallica04100 True, but religion can make people amoral. They may make people think what they are doing is right, but really it's wrong. Religion is obviously not solely responsible, but it goes hand in hand with human nature. They compliment eachother in the sense that religion allows for people to justify terrible actions and well human nature creates religion.
@smallvillewanabe123 Just a curious question. If you aren't part of a religion (well you may still be spiritual), then where do you get your concept of "morality" or do you simply have an ethics? Because morality is objective. You speak of right and wrong as if there is an inherent right and wrong in the universe. The only way I can find these objective truths is through a deity's words of some sort or through nature (and let's be honest, nature isn't a "role model" of what is generally
@metallica04100 The morality that is professed in the bible is stoning disobedient children, killing those who work on the sabbath and forcing women who have been raped to marry their rapist. These are not moral. The only reason why these are ignored is because we have an inherent understanding of what's wrong and whats right at least to a high degree. I base my morals on rationalized thinking and treating people as I would want to be treated. We select morals from bible through secular reasonng
@metallica04100 People had morals before the bible and people have morals in spite of what the bible says. Another is example is that most christians do not accept gay marriage because their bible tells them not to. Most atheist do accept it because we rationally realize that it is immoral to hate those just because they are different. If God suddenly said you had to burn your first born child and that it was now moral, would you do it?
@smallvillewanabe123 Well without a higher good inherent in the universe, people can't have morals. They can only have ethics. Ethics are not inherently good in the universe. In an atheist's world (unless you believe higher good comes from somewhere else besides God), there is no objective good. Ethics are there to help humanity achieve a higher degree of flourishing. And if God was real and told me to burn my child, I would because the notion of an omnipotent, omniscient being suggests
@metallica04100 Holy shit!... then you need to see councilling and if you have children they should be taken away from you. And no we do not need something to tell us what is moral; there is a difference between absolute morality and morality. Morality is just our character and what we inherently believe to be right, that doesn't mean it comes from some being. Our morals can improve and change and ethics is just the reasoning and monitoring of our morals.
@smallvillewanabe123 Ok my other reply was when I just saw one of those comments. I also just read the one where you told me that because I disagree with you, I need councilling and I don't deserve to have children. Anyways, the reason for our disagreement stems from a definition issue so never mind. We pretty much agree but you use incorrect definitions so I got confused.
@smallvillewanabe123 But there still is the question of "what is good"? Where does, in your opinion "good" come from? Or is it just a construction by humans to help us form societies where we will experience more happiness than unhappiness?
@metallica04100 I didn't use the wrong definition and good just comes from with in. It isn't understood fully, but you have to admit it is silly to say you need another being to tell you what is good because atheists have moral. I'm moral and i'm an atheist and I do not rely on a God. The bible is not very moral at all. And seriously? you would burn your child if God told you to? That's terrible and I think id it came down to it you would use your morals, not Gods.
@smallvillewanabe123 I'm not really christian. At this point, I'm unsure between Buddhism and Christianity. But if I was Christian, and God (who knows EVERYTHING about everything) told me to burn my child, I would have to take his word for it that it is the highest good. Don't get me wrong. If the church or the bible (which are creations of humanity) told me to burn my child, I wouldn't because humans are inherently corrupt and not to be trusted. Atheists may have a set of (by your
@smallvillewanabe123 definition) morals. But these morals are not absolute. If you think they are absolute, please explain why. I think I've asked you like 4 times. And I think it's just arrogant to base my decisions off of my own will if I have a direct confrontation with someone who is all good and all knowing telling me the other thing.
@metallica04100 No I told you that I don't have absolute morality because I don't believe in absolute morality. It isn't necessary; if our morals were absolute then we would still believe in slavery, inequality for women, and hatred towards homosexuals. These are absolute moralities in the bible. We reason and our morals grow therefore it isn't absolute and therefore we shouldn't have absolute morality. And even if I wanted absolute morality, making up an all powerful being doesn't doesn't mean
@metallica04100 that its true. Choose Buddhism if anything. They only have peaceful morals, and they as well do not believe in absolute morality because they constantly update their morals
@smallvillewanabe123 Depending on what sect of Buddhism you talking about. In several countries (like former China and Thailand), they have a figure to worship. Unlike, original Buddhism, which is a system of morals. Also, God (Christianity) had only asked Abraham to sacrificed his child but stop him from doing so. If, someone tell me to do something (which will cause me to break one of the ten commandants) in the name of God. I would not do it and let God judge me later.
@Normacly Well that's a much more acceptable answer, I can at least respect that. And in reply to the Muhammad part, I still think the Christian God would still be a monster for even asking that of him. And thank you, I didn't know about the figure for buddhism, but that doesn't sound so much like a supreme being that they would devote their life to.
@smallvillewanabe123 It is actually a supreme being to them. People tend to change a religion so that it will fit their culture. Also, Jesus meant a new era in Abrahamic religion. Judaism and Christianity have the same God but have different views on how to live.
@metallica04100 You have no reasoning to suggest that without a higher good in the universe then people can't have morals. As far as i am concerned by my moral standards and the standards of anyone who is sane, the Christian God is immoral.
@smallvillewanabe123 Morals by definition cannot exist without some objective good. I don't understand why it needs further explanation. If the christian god doesn't exist, than you and most people may find the christian faith to be unethical but it can't be immoral unless there is an alternative higher good. I'm just curious if you do believe in an objective morality but not a god, where does it come from? For example, a Daoist would say nature.

@nekroneko and according to your comment you´re not on that group
alexokatana 1 month ago
@alexokatana Perhaps I should've used an alternative word to brain, such as intelligence or free thinking, but then again it was meant partially as a tongue in cheek statement. From an atheists point of view, religion is always in your face, in the news and everywhere inbetween.

@nekroneko yeah, you´re right is annoying, but still calling people idiots for believe in what their parents taught them isn´t the best approach,

There are evil and sick people in every religion and what's even more sick is that they still claim to love and believe in God.
ExtremeEnergyForce 1 month ago
@ExtremeEnergyForce Yes there are. But that doesn't necessarily mean that religion is responsible for the ills of society like many atheists claim. "Religion" is no more responsible than "guns". It's none of these faults. The fault is human nature.
metallica04100 1 month ago
@metallica04100 Absolutely right can't argue with that.
ExtremeEnergyForce 1 month ago
@metallica04100
I do agree with ExtremeEnergyForce as well.
MrFosite 1 month ago
@metallica04100 True, but religion can make people amoral. They may make people think what they are doing is right, but really it's wrong. Religion is obviously not solely responsible, but it goes hand in hand with human nature. They compliment eachother in the sense that religion allows for people to justify terrible actions and well human nature creates religion.
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 Just a curious question. If you aren't part of a religion (well you may still be spiritual), then where do you get your concept of "morality" or do you simply have an ethics? Because morality is objective. You speak of right and wrong as if there is an inherent right and wrong in the universe. The only way I can find these objective truths is through a deity's words of some sort or through nature (and let's be honest, nature isn't a "role model" of what is generally
metallica04100 1 month ago
@metallica04100 The morality that is professed in the bible is stoning disobedient children, killing those who work on the sabbath and forcing women who have been raped to marry their rapist. These are not moral. The only reason why these are ignored is because we have an inherent understanding of what's wrong and whats right at least to a high degree. I base my morals on rationalized thinking and treating people as I would want to be treated. We select morals from bible through secular reasonng
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@metallica04100 People had morals before the bible and people have morals in spite of what the bible says. Another is example is that most christians do not accept gay marriage because their bible tells them not to. Most atheist do accept it because we rationally realize that it is immoral to hate those just because they are different. If God suddenly said you had to burn your first born child and that it was now moral, would you do it?
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 Well without a higher good inherent in the universe, people can't have morals. They can only have ethics. Ethics are not inherently good in the universe. In an atheist's world (unless you believe higher good comes from somewhere else besides God), there is no objective good. Ethics are there to help humanity achieve a higher degree of flourishing. And if God was real and told me to burn my child, I would because the notion of an omnipotent, omniscient being suggests
metallica04100 1 month ago
@metallica04100 Holy shit!... then you need to see councilling and if you have children they should be taken away from you. And no we do not need something to tell us what is moral; there is a difference between absolute morality and morality. Morality is just our character and what we inherently believe to be right, that doesn't mean it comes from some being. Our morals can improve and change and ethics is just the reasoning and monitoring of our morals.
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 Ok my other reply was when I just saw one of those comments. I also just read the one where you told me that because I disagree with you, I need councilling and I don't deserve to have children. Anyways, the reason for our disagreement stems from a definition issue so never mind. We pretty much agree but you use incorrect definitions so I got confused.
metallica04100 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 But there still is the question of "what is good"? Where does, in your opinion "good" come from? Or is it just a construction by humans to help us form societies where we will experience more happiness than unhappiness?
metallica04100 1 month ago
@metallica04100 I didn't use the wrong definition and good just comes from with in. It isn't understood fully, but you have to admit it is silly to say you need another being to tell you what is good because atheists have moral. I'm moral and i'm an atheist and I do not rely on a God. The bible is not very moral at all. And seriously? you would burn your child if God told you to? That's terrible and I think id it came down to it you would use your morals, not Gods.
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 I'm not really christian. At this point, I'm unsure between Buddhism and Christianity. But if I was Christian, and God (who knows EVERYTHING about everything) told me to burn my child, I would have to take his word for it that it is the highest good. Don't get me wrong. If the church or the bible (which are creations of humanity) told me to burn my child, I wouldn't because humans are inherently corrupt and not to be trusted. Atheists may have a set of (by your
metallica04100 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 definition) morals. But these morals are not absolute. If you think they are absolute, please explain why. I think I've asked you like 4 times. And I think it's just arrogant to base my decisions off of my own will if I have a direct confrontation with someone who is all good and all knowing telling me the other thing.
metallica04100 1 month ago
@metallica04100 No I told you that I don't have absolute morality because I don't believe in absolute morality. It isn't necessary; if our morals were absolute then we would still believe in slavery, inequality for women, and hatred towards homosexuals. These are absolute moralities in the bible. We reason and our morals grow therefore it isn't absolute and therefore we shouldn't have absolute morality. And even if I wanted absolute morality, making up an all powerful being doesn't doesn't mean
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@metallica04100 that its true. Choose Buddhism if anything. They only have peaceful morals, and they as well do not believe in absolute morality because they constantly update their morals
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 Depending on what sect of Buddhism you talking about. In several countries (like former China and Thailand), they have a figure to worship. Unlike, original Buddhism, which is a system of morals. Also, God (Christianity) had only asked Abraham to sacrificed his child but stop him from doing so. If, someone tell me to do something (which will cause me to break one of the ten commandants) in the name of God. I would not do it and let God judge me later.
Normacly 1 month ago
@Normacly Well that's a much more acceptable answer, I can at least respect that. And in reply to the Muhammad part, I still think the Christian God would still be a monster for even asking that of him. And thank you, I didn't know about the figure for buddhism, but that doesn't sound so much like a supreme being that they would devote their life to.
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@smallvillewanabe123 It is actually a supreme being to them. People tend to change a religion so that it will fit their culture. Also, Jesus meant a new era in Abrahamic religion. Judaism and Christianity have the same God but have different views on how to live.

smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago
@metallica04100 You have no reasoning to suggest that without a higher good in the universe then people can't have morals. As far as i am concerned by my moral standards and the standards of anyone who is sane, the Christian God is immoral.
smallvillewanabe123 1 month ago 2
@smallvillewanabe123 Morals by definition cannot exist without some objective good. I don't understand why it needs further explanation. If the christian god doesn't exist, than you and most people may find the christian faith to be unethical but it can't be immoral unless there is an alternative higher good. I'm just curious if you do believe in an objective morality but not a god, where does it come from? For example, a Daoist would say nature.
