Review: P.O.W. Prisoners of War PSN/PS3/PSP

This is one of those forgotten gems from SNK right before the Neo Geo release, you can see where they are heading (greatness). The NES port of this is good too and had to axe the two player mode, so most of us who know this game should be used to that by now.

Great choice - I loved this game, quite a stiff little scroller with those crunchy punches in the face *KAPOOSH!!*

Just a few words of caution to anyone considering buying minis from SNK on PSN:

-2 player co-op is NOT included, even if the exclusion ISN'T MENTIONED in the description on the PSN store.

-These games do not run in full screen mode on Standard Def TVs. They are forced into a letterbox 16:9 format. You can pixel double, but there is always a black border several inches thick around the image.

Yes, I know they are budget priced minis. Just know what's missing before you drop your $3.

@wip3outguy7 Good point I should have mentioned that it's only single player. I think the main market for these is the PSP so that's why it's only in 16:9. I mean what kind of joker is playing ps3 on an SD tv in 2012? :D

The PSN store does make it clear that it's single player only.

@DragonHunterG I actually have a pretty nice HDTV, but it is the "family" TV. So I have to wait in line to play PS3 on it. I gave up that battle a long time ago and moved the PS3 over to my late 90s Tinitron that all of my other gaming stuff is hooked up to. I keep that TV around because it has a beautiful picture and older systems look like ass when hooked up to an HDTV. And if I did spring for scan line generators and up scalers to better the image, I would still have to deal with lag.
