  • Tyical atmosphere at country gigs..so it seems...

    Better remain and BE REAL!

Nobody deserves someting else, so You do not spread it.

    Fun is REAL.

    Shit raises Anger!

    Bernard

  • lol.

  • @madmick499

    Cheers!

  • wot a group, out of this world, brilliant

  • nice to see don lamping the shit out of the drums. plug him into the national grid with the power hes got. our bills will all come down.

  • fanfriggintastic love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Magnificent!!!

    LLTMS!!

  • Teddingdonkey No I am not. You said Jethro Bull??? Hahaha "Thick as a brick". Lousy song, but very appropriate songtitle for you ain t it muppet loser hahahahaha

  • Teddingdonkey you are a fuckin frustrated factory worker yourself. To give you some reality here; The opposite of what you are saying here is the truth; Slade could NOT give themselves the right 'image' to be recognized as one of the greatest bands which they really were; the "Glam" image hurt their public perception and the media have been unfair to them; they were the most versatile band ever, however ridiculously underrated by their Glam image etiquette, try again, you ignorant idiotic twat!

  • Teddingconfused you are constantly talking about yerself. If you don t like it, shit your crap on another upload, don t you think that makes sense???

  • Rebellion...............come of it. Going down the pub and drinking yourself senseless before another day in the stinking factory. Thats the image you wish to project. This band of idiots were very good at producing an image. An image of barren cold shite.

They are passed................gone.............thank god. Music is much more heterogenious and far less tribal than in the 70's. Do want to be in my gang ( No I fu8king don not)

  • Super Song. In meiner Jugendzeit waren wir entweder "Sweet" oder "Slade".

    Ich war für beide :-)

  • Oh shit, music was fun back then. People weren't so bloody uptight and rock was about fun, rebellion and having a good time.

  • "great song, great clip four guys on stage singing, no dancers all over the stage, no special efects..."

  • It is England that spawned this shite. No doubt about that. In many ways it ranks as a war crime.

  • @teddingtontcu IT"S NOT ENGLA NO YOUR NOT REALING ME IN JUST GET TO FCUK U RETARD .SCOTLAND-ENGLAND-IRELAND-WALES THERE IS NO SHITE IN SLADE . RULE BRITANNIA. HOW MANY. TRACKS HAVE U LISTEND TO IT LOOKS LIKE U DONT KNOW VERRY MANY TRACKS COS THERE ARE NOT ANY SHIT TO THE ONES ONLY SLADE FANS LISTEN TO

  • The masters doing what they do best.

What an amazing live band they were.

    Keep On Rockin!!!!!!!

  • Proslade, I am Canadian and listened to Slade back in the latter sixest, early seventies. Slade was a big band here back than let alone knowing them today. It isn't Canadians or for that matter Americans that let Slade down from the roost they otherwise should have been put on. I honestly believe they are one of the most influential rock bands ever! It is Britian her self who under sold them.

  • Great !

  • Forget the outrageous outfits, this is pure rock'n'roll !!!!!

  • @tchitcharocks For most Americans and Canadians doing a bit scrubbing on these videos here and there, are completely misled and mispercepted about Slade. Actually, I can understand that it is a little hard to believe that these guys were one of the best bands of all time if you see the funny videos and outrageous outfits on youtube uploads!

  • @proslade Believe me, I know ...!

  • @tchitcharocks Yeah, you know, good for you, but there are still some ignorants across the atlantic over there...

  • Well said proslade, my thoughts entirely.

Slade were a far more versitile band than ac/dc will ever be.

    Keep On Rockin!!!!!!!!

  • This would have been a much better band it they didn't dress like retards :(

  • @umahdawg Should they have dressed like Angus? Only in a cheap boxershort? Are you kidding?

BTW Dress has nothing to do with musical talent and performance, you are lacking musical sophistication, but I suppose most AC/DC fans do IMHO.

  • Best live band ever "AWESOME"

    Keep On Rockin!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, absolutely love this version!!!

  • Cool! Went to see Slade in Glasgow Apollo early 80's and was completely blown away by the sheer volume and energy they blasted out!! I only went to gig for a night out with my girl... (Don't think she was too happy when I started rockin' out with everyone else..)! One of my favourite gigs (and trust me I've ben to many). Thank you Sladev for bringing back some great memories!

  • Back then when bands actually could play 100% live !

  • Slade ROCKS! I appreciate them and their music!

  • Yeah mama we`re going all crazy now....going out of my head......that good old stuff keeps us forever young........

  • his name is neville...hes called noddy coz he nods to everyone

  • brilliant !!!!

  • Noddy is a slang nickname for Neville, his real name is neville Holder

  • Miss the "Ah Whew" at the beginning of the lyrics.Love Slade! Noddy,Dave,Jim and Don ; THANK YOU.

  • RANDY RHODES WHO IS HE??

  • randy rhodes=lead guitarist for quiet riot

  • great tune

  • I don´t want to drink my whisky but still do...

    Amazing :)

  • slade - unvergessen . wonderful song - lg gitte ;-))

  • As tight of a live performance as you can get!

  • Especially with balloons and ribbons falling all over you.

  • is it just me or does it sound like Randy Rhoads is playing guitar?

  • this live version totally kicks axxx !!!

  • Is it just my cmputer or does it play very slow, the video i mean.

Wish it was better cos the performance is awesome!

  • it is very choppy, you are right

  • Yuz rite lad. The well known Walsall quantum effect :)

  • It didn't used to be that way, but it's been doing that to me for the past few months. Errr okay I watch this video that much :P

  • The biggest selling band in the early 70`s ..got ripped off by management as they all did.....highly underated and the composers of some of the best rock tracks to date...a fantastic live band one of the best....

  • I don't think Slade got too badly ripped off, not like some of the others. Chas Chandler was the manager - Noddy is quite complementary in his biog.

I think our loss is that Slade weren't screwed enough!

That is what usually gets old rocker to stage a re-union, when the cash runs low ;-)

Noddy and Jim are just too rich to need the money!

Fantastic band, though. They were a great singles band, a great album band and a great live band.

  • bought their vinyl in '72...imagine my surprise when i heard Quiet Riot singing their stuff..

  • Saw them live in Green Bay Wisconsin Brown County Arena - Opened for Steppenwolf -- Steppenwolf put everyone to sleep -too partied out from Slade would love to see a reunion -- I too would find my way to England to see them again !!!!!

  • I saw them at teh Commodore in Vancouver-fantastic band for party rock. I couldn't hear for 2 hours afterwards.

  • Oh, Noddy Holder the mastervoice of partygohappyrock of the 70's. Luv 'em all...

  • I saw Slade at Derby many years ago, Noddy was dressed as an American preacher and Dave Hill stood on the speakers all night posing, fantastic.

  • Cool,

Where about's in Derby did you see them?

  • brilliant , r & r at it's best.

  • With all the reunions, WHY NOT! I would fly back from the US and A to see them!

  • They should do a reunion at least for a charity event like live aid

  • Pure knockdown-dragout R&R. What a kickass band they were!

  • Great! Thanks for posting stuff like this...

  • Wow! This is a great take. Drums and bass can't get much tighter than this.

  • They put on an awesome concert in the summer od 1974 at the Auditorium theater in Chicago with 10cc opening.

  • Rock Legends...I hear a nine inch nail song nowdays..and I want to projectile vomit...This Is real Rock...

  • magic! i watched it on tv at the time!

  • I was a teenager during the 80's metal/rock scene. I bought KYHOMPS when it first came out. Com on Feel the noiz was one of my favourite songs, both the QR version and of course the original. My oh my was on my "gonna get laid" cassette of power ballads. Living in Newfoundland I never got a chance to see any of the big bands when they were touring. Would have loved to seen Slade in the day. As was said, Noddy seemed like he was having fun, and isn't that what rock is all about?

  • what a superb band, takes me back to my youth

  • This video reminds me of when I saw them in 1981 - dry ice, bog rolls, mother christmas's (one of whose tits fell out on stage!), baloons - oh what at party it was at Hammersmith Odeon that night. The loudest and best rock band of the 70's and one who Def Leppard were stupid to follow at Reading in 1980 ---- oh dear! They did the best ever Christmas single, good ballads and a shedful of cathcy loud rock song .... what a band.

  • poor old Leppard;-) i saw Joe Elliot saying that they did NOt want to follow them, and with good reason!

  • This is a better version of of Slade's "Mama Weer All Crazee Now." No doubt. Teen Titans Robin: "Slade!?! Where's Slade!?! Where is he!?!!" Dog: "No,no,no Robin. Not that Slade, the rock group Slade. See. Look!" Points to Youtube. Robin(sheepishly): "Oops! Sorry about that." Robin walks out of the room, embarrassed. Great video! Five stars!

  • This song is a true classic.

  • What a fuckin' top band. Labelled as a 'glam rock' band.....but really just a balls out, hard rockin' band.

  • why can you tell aftrer that????!!!! just MORE!!!!!

  • I would have given anything to see Slade back in the day they were one of the few bands I missed that I really wish I had seen.

  • AC-DC got it all from two bands: Slade and Humble Pie. Slade is one of the most under-appreciated bands in rock history. Those pricks Quiet Riot made a career out of ripping off Slade.

  • Damn right- I couldn't stand Quiet Fart back in their MTV days!!

  • Something in what you say mate.

  • @wnorcott I cannot agree more!! Would ya believe that 3+mil have viewed their sh*t version of 'Cum on' - inclulding me - and I just see how, why, if or but: SLADE are the boss rockers of the 70s. None of ya 80s soft rock cr*p for me: I'm a hardcore 50yr old nan, who loves to go back to her teens in London!! Slade were wot being a teenager woz about!!!

  • @1960gal Ha! Lucky you to have been a teen in the golden age of rock! My kinda gal....;o)

  • @1960gal im a 1960 fella & slade gotta be the best live band ever! & slade alive the best live album.watched slade in flame again the other night(great movie)

your right about them & bein a 70's teen.oh the wonderful memories.

  • @1960gal hi babe just want to say slade where the best band ever ive also been a fan for over 35 years ,thanx

  • @wnorcott so right myfriend,,so much talent they were the masters by a country mile, bet they could still kick ass,

  • @wnorcott DON'T EVER COMPARE THESE RETARDS TO AC/DC!

  • @umahdawg You do realize don't you that AC/DC asked Noddy Holder (lead singer of Slade) to be their singer after Bon Scotts died? Angus Young has a much higher opinion of Slade than you do, eh?

    Bill

  • Comment removed

  • @umahdawg Twat! Listen to 'In like a shot from my gun' (1970) and you will know where AC/DC had their roots! Slade were much more sophisticated songwriters, constantly evolving to new sounds and genres during their entire careers. AC/DC have only played monotounous hardrock and it is becoz of simple, prejudist people like you that they are still selling their droned crap. Find some publications and you will discover that Brian and Angus confirm that these 'retards' are among their inspirations!

  • @carlphone i agree with u ac/dc just made a load of noise the thing about slade they sounded even better when they played live then they did when u listen to them on record my mate had tickets for a ac/dc live gig asked me go with him as u can guess i refused do not like there music these arseholes u mention above are sad pricks who do not know good music when they here it should just listen to the crap they like

  • @umahdawg AC/DC fans are so retarded that they think that it makes a difference for the sound quality if the band would dress differently. Most AC/DC followers are lacking musical sophistication, and are pleased with listening to monotounous, droned hardrock crap and you are just another stupid follower. FYI these retards still sold 60 Mio records!

For one thing I agree; you cannot compare one of the most brilliant and versatile bands ever, Slade with the monotounous shitty AC/DC.

  • @proslade hey now...dont diss AC/DC there a great band you cant argue that...as long as we dont like the new shit i think we should all just get along and say hoorah to both bands eh?

  • @80srockforever I was just picking up on some comments that Slade were "retards".

In sales records, AC/DC are a much greater band than Slade, but honestly, I like the melodic "softrock" of Slade much better, they have played much more popgenres, engineerd unique gospel/anthem style music in the eighties etc. I simply think Slade were a much more talented, influential and diversified band, but that is just my opinion. I do like some of the new "shit", but not much of it.

  • @80srockforever I agree with Proslade and Petehawk, I am sorry!

  • @proslade That AC/DC-guy stole his hats and trousers from Noddy.

  • @umahdawg COME ON... AC/DC IS GREAT...BUT CALL SLADE RETARDS IS INSANE...SLADE IN AN AMAZING BAND ,PURE ROCK...AND IN THE STILE NODDY KICK BON'S AND BRIAN'S ASS EEEASILY....LOOK AT" GET DOWN AN GET WITH IT" LIVE OR JUST A LITTLE BIT...IT'S SCARY...BRIAN AGRESSIVE VOCALS ARE VERY GOOD,BUT SOUND LIKE A LITLLE GIRL COMPARING TO NODDY,GUESS ANGUS IS BETTER THAN DAVE THOUG.THE NODDY SINGS MOVE OVER BY JANIS IN THE SAME KEY EASILY.THE MAN HAS NO LOMITS

  • @beroth77 Fully agreed, Slade are a much more sophisticated and versatile band than AC/DC who can only play hardrock, one style. Slade created real tunes in many many genres. Noddy was a much better singer and could sing classical, jazz, gospel, ballads, reggae, pop etc etc. It is not for nothing that they first asked him as their lead singer before Brian Johnson got the job. umahdawg needs to listen to every Slade album before making an ill informed comment.

  • @carlphone you are the ill informed C*nt carlphelgm

  • @wnorcott yes cannot understand why the yanks liked these rip off merchants rather then the real musicians who created this master piece

  • @MrKingkong1955 Us " yanks " do appreciate it. I always knew Slade wrote Cum on Feel the Noize and Mamma weer all crazee now. I always defend Slade, and many people here know who Slade are. Im not mad or starting a argument just saying. It always happens to bands like this, like how everyone though The Animals wrote House of Rising Sun,yet its a old American Civil War era song. Or even Im a Beleiver is written by Neil Diamond, not The Monkees ect. Don't worry, real people know who wrote what.

  • @tatethompson1234 I think Mr. Kingkong is referring to the fact that it is usually ignorant Americans who post a negative comment. That is becoz Slade were kind of ignored there in the seventies and are still relatively unknown.

The first thing in their lives they find out about Slade is usually a video of one of the 2 songs covered by Quiet Riot! In this videos Slade sometimes look a bit 'funny' and therefore can mislead other 'real people' than you, becoz their true brilliance is masked!

  • @tatethompson1234 yeah slade were not just glam rockers if you look into there music you will find they could play any style music they made some brilliant music yes house of the rising sun one of my favourite songs slade manager chas chandler co wrote this brilliant song who was a member of this sixtys group i have nothing against americians just people should look into any groups music before they make negativity comments about them

  • @MrKingkong1955 Mhm they were a hard working rock n roll band. To me music can't be glam, just the image can. T-Rex,Sweet and Slade were all amazing pure rock n roll bands as far as im concerned. It's a shame that all 3 of them are not as known as they should be. Slade had great simple riffs and funny witty lyrics but they were so powerfull, especially with Noddy, loudest person in Rock n Roll.

  • @tatethompson1234 i have seen slade live best live band i have seen and i have seen some big bands in my time they were electric live the best thing is they played with a smile on there faces and noddy knew how to work the crowd i saw this band in the seventys and i can remember it as it were yesterday on the backing group that night were thin lizzy it was a brilliant gig never forget it

  • @MrKingkong1955 That's awsome man. Toobad they don't have a reunion while they are all alive. Jim Lea doesen't play live anymore, only a couple times since Slade split. Atleast Noddy has sucess with tv and books. Dave and Don still play but theirs no majic in it like with Noddy and Jim

  • @tatethompson1234 yeah i agree i dont care much about slade 2 noddys allso a judge on live unsigned for bands trying to made the big time i dont think they will ever reform and play one last gig it would be awsome if they did

  • I rock.

  • you rock our hearts for ever

  • Noddy Holder, YOU were the performer that more other rock performers wanted to be than any other, including the The Fab Four! Your influence on rock musicians and rock music itself stands as an eternal testament as to how incredibly great you and the whole band was.

If only it could be the early 1970's forever! Damn you time! At least us old farts have these wonderful memories of our youth, possibly the very best of times of all to have been alive and young!

  • Good to see you on here Noddy, listening to your old hits on my MP3 player helps to keep me sane here in Japan, thanks!

  • @NoddyHolderSlade you sure do that nod

  • even the camera guy is covered in balloons xD

  • Fantastic!!!! Many tanx for posting!!!!!

    Given you a 5***** rating!!!!

    Rock On

    Sequin

  • the original heavy metal band even better than acdc

  • This is heavy metal??...-.-

  • Yes it is. Once you get past the glam veneer, you hear they're playing hard, grinding blues-rock comparable to Black Sabbath and AC/DC. In fact, it was Slade's influence that brought about the sound that characterised the LA glam scene in the early 80s (e.g. Motley Crue and WASP) - Slade were, in fact, a major influence on Nikki Sixx and Motley Crue.

  • an influence, yes, but i still wouldn't caracterize this band as a heavy metal band...nor AC/DC.

  • Cup of soup?

  • Slade—always ass kicking awesome. Their stuff holds up to anything out now.

  • Slade and Quo toured together in the 70's. What a superb night that must have been, the two best rockin' bands at the time. Quo still are!

  • Must of been fantastic Quo were at the top of their powers in 1972 Slade were the headliners. Dave said they were a tough act to follow but slade did it.

  • This is one of my favourites and I had so much fun on set singing it.KEEP ON ROCKIIIIING!!

  • One of the best songs ever by one of the best bands ever! (Do you mind if I ask what the costumes were for - were you dressed as a Canadian mountie??) Noddy forevah!

  • If you are the true Noddy, may I ask how you got the name Noddy?

  • @NoddyHolderSlade noddy u r god to many of your fans it would be great to hear the four of u play one last time u are the best singer i have heard slade fan till i die

  • i am a kid and i love this stuff

especially come on feel the noize

  • im 12 u

  • this is cool az hell

  • did that wanker say 'village people' what a prick.. rocked more than zep sab and g.n.r combined.. cheers guys.. these kids will ner realise your power

  • These guys f**k n rocked..............

  • superbe !!!

  • Brilliant!!

  • vete al carajo...ignorante

  • Ya don't see this kinda balls out total rock and roll on Empty V.. Slade rulez!! Noddy is the man!!

  • The ultimate party rock band at their best !!

  • Awesome.... Love this :o

  • when you rock, rock is alive!!!

  • where are this guy´s today??

    we need em

  • i discovered these guys after seeing that quiet riot had covered Feel the the noize and i have loved them ever since they rock!!!!!! if i was noddy i would get tired of those streamers all over me while i was playing

  • after this..put on a Lincoln Park or Nine Inch Nails CD....You'll want to slit Your wrists ...This is what true rock and roll was meant to be ....

  • Well said, my friend, well said indeed.

  • Every 80's metal band owes a big debt to Slade. (Especially Quiet Riot.) They were waaaaay ahead of their time, including the "invented spelling" favored by rap acts. Priceless video, thanks for posting!

  • Joey Ramone said in an interview for a Brazilian Rock Magazine that Slade was one of his favorite bands.

FUCKING GOOD ROCK N ROLL TASTE.

  • son cojonudos

  • j"aime.....trop bon...BB

  • wot a voice!!!!!!!!!!!

  • saw them callendar park falkirk nazareth blow them off the stage

  • When I was in high school and wanted to rock out I'd always pull out the Slade 8-Track.

  • By far the most fun band I've ever seen live. Best ever performance I saw out of them was at the Liverpool Royal Court. At DOnnington in 1982 they got about 125,000 people dancing, wonderful stuff. Noddy always looks like he's having a laugh.

  • I saw 'em,too! A couple of times. Can't remember who with, though! I do remember it was at Winterland in San Francisco. I still have photos, somewhere!

  • Do you remember which year it was?

  • 1972 !!

  • Saw Slade open for Humble Pie at the Arie Crowne Theatre in Chicago in 1972 or 1973. I was surprised Humble Pie even had the guts to take the stage they were blown off.

  • Great concert with two great bands!!

  • I saw them in Chicago in the early 70s too, but I have no idea who else was on the bill. Slade blew away whoever it was, they rocked! Certainly wasn't Humble Pie. Might have been Climax Blues band and Uriah Heep.

  • I may be wrong but I'm sure I remember reading years ago that the drummer was in a bad car accident and suffered amnesia. He had to leave himself a note when he went to sleep so that he could read where he was in the morning. Still kept playing with the band even though he had to re learn all the songs.

  • Ya...quite riot owed their crummy hits to these guys...to funny!

These guys were way ahead of most hard rock bands...to bad they never made it big in the us...one of the best in concert I had ever seen!

  • Me too, funny how people now make fun of them, seventies fashions etc,who on the current rock/pop scene is doing anything equal or better then this?

  • Very few live up to a good visual and musical show these days except the old school performers! Kids today are really getting screwed out of lifes great moments in their young lives like I did. You can blame the rotten music execs and their greedy slimy tactics as well as ticket agents raping most every good show out there.

    Anyways, rock on!

    Headbanger!

  • Absolutely correct! Pop music has sucked balls for the last 15 years or more, ever since MTV and the other music exec scum started pushing rap and that godawful tuneless alternative shit: the only thing it's an "alternative" to is real music. Kids today have NO IDEA what's they've been cheated out of.

  • Loud, HardRockin, Fast, Stompin, Anthemic, just a few word's to describe Slade

  • i saw slade on their first american tour in the early 70's. they opened for humble pie! oh my god, what a show!! they opened with a cover of ten years after's "hear me callin' " and i became an instant fan. they just blew me away. humble pie was always a great show but having to follow these guys just put them over the top. side note: noddy holder's autobiography, who's crazee now, is a must read for any slade fan.

  • feel the noize on this amazing video

  • top tune dis!!

  • that's what i mean, mottahead!!
