my mate made a homemade swamp boat out of an old boat hull and he built in the petrol tank holder and the controls and he put a high power plane rotary engine on it! and its maiden voyage it took off so fast it went into some bushes and broke the struts lmao

well.. what i dont like is the turning... how it likes to spin out... you should have made one with two smaller propellers on the sides so it could control more

One thing I think would be good to change on that is - make the lift fan on all the time the battery is on, and have the throttle only control the thrust fan. That way if you want to slow down on the water it wont sink!

I used to have a storebought one of these and thats how it was.

i did simuler one but the one i did have 2 engines under so it will go faster in the water with speed up to 60 km/h

dude are you retarded? the vents are to feed the intake fan to keep the hovercraft up, and there is a fan in the back, but its spinning so you cant see it...

cool, i have only had a toy one (tyco or something) it didn't have a skirt but more of a donut if you know what i mean,,it went good on smooth floors but sucked on water,,the fan pushed out so weak it just bubbled air out the sides as it dragged along,,,i was put off hovers by it, but might give it another go now.

are there any rc hovers that go well on water,,all the ones i have seen drag like this one and never really glide like a real one (not dissing it btw),,are they just too small to work properly on water?

Yeah, there are plenty. This has a finger skirt not a bag so needs more power but works more like the real thing. This is 3 years old now, with Lipo cells and a brushless motor it would skim the surface easily.
