Am I the only one who can't get over the Nazi-themed flower borders? What a perfect example of how they saw the Jersey occupation as a propaganda coup.
What he said about recording is so true: we have hours upon hours of footage of my sister and me as kids growing up, but my parents are hardly ever in frame :(
@EnigmaDrath I agree. However, recording doesn't ensure survival of the record. As a child I recorded my grandmother on a recording device for many hours, including interviews. When I went back as an adult to get it, the relative I'd stored it with thought that it wasn't anything important (despite labeling) and had thrown it out. It broke my heart.
@theBlueBrick Victoris has given the rights to a TV channel in Greece to make the book into a series. Hollywood wanted but she refused - said they'd ruin the book. Search for 'To Nisi' or 'TO ΝΗΣΙ' (GREEK) on youtube - they are doing a really good job - which is surprising as the new Greek actors/actresses are employed based on looks and not acting ability! Soon it will be available worldwide with subtitles. Worth watching

It's so irritating when Brits, like my parents, say "the war," as if there was only one war in the history of wars.
