Wow. If that isn't blatant homerism, I don't know what is. Of course, he wasn't as fast. Back then, he was young and could fly. Let's not forget Jagr was never the fastest skater. That belonged to P. Bure. He was like a jet exploding. Jagr had speed but also amazing strength. The uncanny ability to ward off defenders.

Guess you forgot 2005-06 when he dominated and was robbed of MVP on what was called a last place team. Jagr will always be remembered a Pen but was very good here. Perspective!

I am from North Jersey so obviously i love the devils. I do however like the rangers also. they have and have had some great players in the past. I have respect for the stars like Brian Leetch, Mark Messier, Adam Graves, Mike Richter, Jagr, and Shanahan too. But I am a tried and true Devs fan and i'm not gonna apologize for it.

There were very questionable calls in games 2-5...The Pens are absolutely NOT a far better team.. They are a good young team, not Far better. It is a fact. if you want examples ill give em to you. Game 2- 2 horrible dives by Crosby, including one with less then 2 minutes left in a tied game. Game 4- 2 slew foots by Malkin that the league decided not to review even though it is considered the most dirty play in hockey. game 5 no call on a high stick that required drury about 15 stitches

none of what you say is a fact...its your opinion...you giving examples of why you think the flyers got jipped doesn't prove that the pens aren't a far better team...im sure there were calls on both sides that got missed...if i wanted, i could say the bruins should have won the series against teh canadiens b/c there were missed calls, but ive learned to accept a tough loss...i can't say for a fact the penguins are better but its my opinion outside of being a fan from either team.

I watched the series with two Pens fans that couldnt believe it either. It is true the the Pens have two of the top players in the game, but how could you say they are a far better team? oh ok...well i guess what i'll say about the rangers is that i actually did watch multiple games of that series, and i didnt notice anything too one-sided on the part of the officials. i do think the pens are a far better team b/c they have much more young talent than the rangers who have seemed to favor the "washed up veterans" closet the last decade...speed wins you cups now, not experience imo...except if your the wings that is, but even they have guys like datsyuk and franzen.

Well if you look at the box scores of the games you will notice that 2 of the games had the pens on the pp twice the amount of the rangers. I was also referring to timing of calls, and obvious missed calls. And of course your going to break out the "washed up veteran" thing when it comes to the Rangers.. so tell me besides shanny and jagr, who would you consider a washed up veteran? The Rangers are stocked with very good young talent, and have built a real future. Do some research

I respect and love Jagr but that wasn't speed.He had speed when he played for the Penguins(back then when he play he would give 100% on the ice and he was one of the best players in the NHL) but now he only plays for the money in New York.

Mario Lemieux, at age 34, broken down, never played hockey for over 3 years, bad back, recovered from cancer in the height of the clutch and grab dead puck era, scored 35 goals, 41 assists in 43 games in 2000-01, thats 66 goals, 79 assists, 145 points over 82 games, all things considered and absolutely raped Jagr during his best years. jagr had 149 in 82 games, lemieux had 161 in 70 games. And Gretzky was equal to or better than Mario.
