I absolutely agree with you, turtle, I don't even think Scott McClellan wrote this book. I saw McClellan on MTP Sunday, he clearly knew very little about this book. I don't think he wrote this book. I believe a Bush clone wrote this book to make GWB look stupid & make him look as if Cheney et al pulled the wool over GWB's eyes. @walkermydawg Clarke's books are decent. He is not the best of writers, sometimes meandering too long into reminiscing about the past, but his insider's perspective coupled with analysis of counter-terrorism issues as well as detailed recounts of history make them worth reading.
