I was there for this, just off camera to the right. It was completely tasteless, even worse than it looks in the video. I'm voting against Chet, but this is just a silly distraction during a candidate event, and a big turn-off to independent voters.
Its kind of amazing this guy is a Democrat and has districts like College Station, Waco, and Crawford all conservative. This guy is what you call a conservative Democrat and I could understand not voting for a health care bill because it would endanger his political future. I think the huge reason he gets elected obviously he still is a conservative on many issues but going to A&M did help him a lot.
The YCT is the worst organization on campus and is by far a huge embarrassment to our great University. The Anti-Obama rally on CNN's front page is exactly what our school needed. Geez, there are better ways to make political statements without making an ass of yourselves. Just like the "Straight Parade" a couple of years ago.
Haha.. that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! You couldn't pay me to vote for Chet Edwards, I dislike his politics as much as the next guy. I'm not ashamed to say that I will be voting for Rob Curnock on November 4th. Seeing as how I am not catholic, I couldn't care less who the pope is. and I didn't "slap," anything together my friend. I didn't have anything to do with the Lunch. Why must people make wild inferences. Never assume. Didn't you learn that. You don't know me.
Although I disagree with Congressman Edwards 96% of the time, the "Meet the Candidates Lunch" was not the proper venue for you to demonstrate your obvious love for Congressman Edwards. I think that this showing did your group a disservice and was quite frankly, embarrassing to the University and thwarted the good intentions and hard work that so many Aggies put in the event. I think you all should apologize not only to Congressman Edwards, but each and every candidate and person there.
YCT had support of the other candidates there, oops except the liberal ones such as Chet. Sounds like someone got their feelings hurt. What would have been a better time to approach him, let me guess, not during one of the events YOU helped slap together. lighten up Chet is just another guy, and as much as you wish he where, he's not the pope.
This was just good fun. Those on the other side of the aisle need to lighten up.
leftofcollegestation - aren't you being a bit condescending to determine yourself to be the Great Arbiter as to just where "Center" exists? Is this an unbiased, objective observation, or just name calling?
Please define Political Center so we can have a rational discussion.
With silly and useless demonstrations like this, its no wonder YCT can never really bring about real change. Y'all are a joke and hurt the conservative cause.
I LOVE IT!!! The look on his face was classic. If he's not liberal, leftofcollegestation, why are you defending him. Get a clue, this kind of activism is effective, not to mention really funny. Keep up the good work YCT A&M. Vote Rob Curnock!!!

As a veteran I would choose Chet Edwards, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama over Rob Curnock, John Boehner, and John McCain. Also, the only reason that Congressman Edwards looks liberal to you is because you are so far to the right.

YCT is an embarassment to the University.

YCT may be far to the right but so is Texas District 17. Chet doesn't belong here.

I find it ironic the use of the Beatles at the beginning of this...
Ah, silly conservative Aggies.

Because a moderate Democrat is better than an ultra conservative Republican.
