I have read customers on the internet who are offended that their favourite musician Ray Charles was depicted by this idiot. And the fact he won an award really 'took the piss'.

Doug was taking turns at making fun of all the people on stage (not very successfully). They all took it and smiled (even the fat woman). But when he made fun of Jamie Foxx being a talentless actor in overrated movies Jamie ego was wounded and he decided to take a cheap shot at Doug.
No he didn't - he wasn't funny and Foxx was making fun of him for it. The guy then tried to cheapshot Foxx and Foxx absolutely humiliated him. And that's what he did - it may have come off a bit harsh but even Doug was laughing: this was in 2003, mind, and that Williams guy isn't doing so badly.

Many people just dont understand the situation. Yes it was funny but you have to understand what was really going on. Doug was taking turns at making fun of all the people on stage (not very successfully). They all took it and smiled (even the fat woman). But when he made fun of Jamie Foxx being a talentless actor in overrated movies Jamie ego was wounded and he decided to take a cheap shot at Doug.

No he didn't - he wasn't funny and Foxx was making fun of him for it. The guy then tried to cheapshot Foxx and Foxx absolutely humiliated him. I'm sorry, but the guy shouldn't have been there with crap like that. And Foxx, as a host, had to keep the show rolling and funny. And that's what he did - it may have come off a bit harsh but even Doug was laughing: this was in 2003, mind, and that Williams guy isn't doing so badly.

He wasnt trying to 'save' the show. I have seen quite a few People on ROAST who are not funny. Yet i have never before seen their 'conscience' asking them to leave.

I know. I've heard some of it - but that night, he was funny. And Doug Williams was not.. he used personal jibes which bombed and everyone knew it. These other people who you found not funny is just your own opinion, to be honest. Foxx did what he felt he could in order to keep the humour of the show rolling and not create any awkwardness - and it was funny. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, IMO, in terms of comedy. That's why I'll never try it :P

Yeah, but if you watch the beginning, Jamie puts Doug down in the introduction, telling the audience they won't know who he is. Jamie was just cruel, abusing the power of his own 15 minutes. Anyone can be cruel, cruel does not equal talented.

I have to admit that Jamie was funny in this video. But I also agree that he didn't give Doug Williams a chance from jump. But then again Doug didn't seem to be prepared. What comedian comes to the stage with his jokes on paper? Jokes that was no where in the area of funny. So yes Jamie was cruel but at the same time he saved his ass from futher embarrassment.
