  • who is the soundtrack by ?

  • whats the music in the background?

  • okay but nothing mentioned about Mod Men's fashion, its all female and The Beatles' moptop? Is this sexist or what?

  • Cute presentation, but a little too much repetition of images and the music selections could not be worse, completely destroyed any credibility.

  • 2030

  • very good

  • Gay.

  • the first medernists (the purist toward 1959 1962)) were influenced by the french and italian fashion(they looked smart!!), cinema( nouvelle vague) and listened jazz , blues....(before they were influenced by rythm and blues, soul, and the freakbeat british scene like: the actiongeorgie fame, steampacket,, artwoods, the move......). in the early 60's.its something purely british.

  • Okay, i like dusty springfeild. thats all i have to say about that. and I like twiggy. and by the way, not all mods from the 60's were british. Like Look at Edie Sedgwick. She's from New York, and thank you, Edie is a pretty famous fricking mod. and whats up with the weird sounding retarted french or german narrator? oh and Audrey Hepburn. She was a mod too. And she was like from switzerland or some place weird.

  • @Inthedessert Edie Sedgwick was born and grew up in California, and lived most of her life there. She also died in Santa Barbara, California at the tender age of 28. But yes, she was a mod in the purest sense. French and German are not retarded languages - what gave you that idea? Audrey Hepburn was British, but was born in Belgium and grew up in the Netherlands. She died in Switzerland.

  • i like dusty springfeild. thats all i have to say about that.

  • IF YOU DIDNT LIVE IT, YOU'LL NEVER GET IT RIGHT.

  • @1952kid I agree. I had the misfortune of growing up in the States, so "Mod" was defined differently here. How I wish I could've "been there" for real...

  • i would have made a better beat for this video...let me knw when you want 60s sci fi hiphop.....ok ...but i do love all the info on this vid

  • I hope this person got a low grade on this incorrectly done assignment.

  • Oh the ignorant!

  • lov twiggy n the MOD

  • for an idea of what was REALY mod, see Quadrophenia which captures the culture and atmosphere of what was mod!

  • this is by someone who knows nothing whatsoever about mods..

  • sorry however your video is not really MOD related. Modernism is the correct "term" and was predominantly men wearing handmade clothing (with a few notable exceptions Fred Perry, Ben Sherman and the ubiquitous US Army Parka). Female mods were very plain in relation to the male and the main thrust of your video is female 60s fashion. Maybe rename it 60s female fashion influences??

  • i think you will find it was Modernist, as in jazz... ism's wer'nt around in the 60's....

  • i bow to your correction of my use of the term in the wrong context however please be aware that modernism was originally a term first used in the nineteenth century during the Age of Enlightenment

  • to Davey XL Try Dimitri from paris, a very stylish girl. I do think that he covers this song, however

  • Twiggy was the mod in the London/UK and Edie Sedgwick was the mod in new york/U.S... but two great icons of their time

  • i keep getting told i dress mod?

fuck knows though, i just wear clothes i like.

  • take it as a compliment mate!

Mods are some of the sharpest dressers goin'

  • isnt the song pizzicato 5?

  • Yo i'm a mod lol

  • where can i find the mix for the first version of a very stylish girl... the one that plays in the very beginning...

  • thank u. i was looking for information for a project i have on the MOD fashion. this hellped alot. thank u.

  • We are the MODS! Wink Jones

  • whats the song in the beginning? starting at 9 sec?

  • I was born a mod and I'll die a mod.

    Keep the faith!

  • my moms and dad a mods too......

    kakakaka

  • my mom was a mod

  • me mum was also a mod

  • In the 60s ?

  • LOVE 60'S

  • love mod, love twiggy, love the beatles,.....awesome vid!!!

  • jaja MOD... MODISM??!, MODERNISM!!!!!!!! JAJAJA

dont waste your time on this "Whicol2" lets make a real research!!!!

  • that was twiggy, what kinda drugs did they have her on? purples hearts, blues. kept her nice and skinny to fit her into those dresses

  • Twiggy was naturally skinny. She didn't ever take drugs. In lots of her photoshoots she has bulldog clips holding her dresses in place at the back infact.

  • americans make me sik when they try to talk about british culture they r sooo fucking annoying

  • Shit, are we having a culture war about this now, can't we all just get along? Where's the love? Especially nowadays.

  • @mickatmidnight You're absolutely correct ! Corrections are fine, but gee.. People don't have to get all riled up about it..

  • @mickatmidnight What she said. I love mod music as well as so-called "British Rock" as well as plain old rock as well as garage as well as surf as well as some vintage pop and even some old school country...and many other styles.

  • no frankly i cant stand yanks ...most people in england consider them as generally ignorant & inferior

  • i like this vid ;))

  • Your voice is sooooooo SEXY!!!

  • Plus, most of your video is about female fashion. You have to swallow the fact that in the original mod scene, Girls were an expendable accessory- nothing more than an interchangeable pair of shoes.

Women's fashion used in conjunction to a video about "mod" is completely backwards. it isn't Mod...it's just 60s Women's fashion. There is a BIG difference. Women, AND their fashion didn't mean a thing to original Mods. Now.. want to talk men's fashion, John Stevens,Fred Perry, now you're talking!

  • Two corrections right off the bat:

    1) it's ModERNism, not "modism". Get it right.

    2) original 60s mods were not influenced by the "new British Rock." In fact, they hated it. They were influnced by modern jazz (hence the TERM "mod"...short for Modern Jazz). Later most mods were influenced by American R&B, namely Stax and Tamla Motown.

If you think I'm making this up, you obviously hadn't done a scrap of real research.

  • @Whicol2 Please, shut the fuck up. No one cares.

  • @Whicol2

Well said, all too often Mod culture is summed up as the pop culture of the sixties, when the Mods were actually seeking an alternative more underground scene.

  • @Whicol2 I think you will find that 'mod' is short for Modernist.

  • @Whicol2 you speak the truth!!

  • believe it or not alot of todays fashion is based after 60's fashion both mod and hippie

  • Ive thought that before

  • now everythings aiming at 80's i just saw some acid wash jeans the other day lol, fashion truely repeats itself

  • obviously... but everyone knows that ?

  • Nice one lee. lol

  • very hip :)

  • what's that song at the beginning

  • it's by dimitri from paris.

  • yeah, i found that out afterwards

  • dope!!
