Humm... Thats interesting. I just picked one up off CL for a great deal and the person selling it glued the wings into the body. I looked in the owners manual and sure enough it shows using glue to glue the wings in. The plane is in new condition. Worried that with them glued in that will increase the damage from some mishap. Amazing that it snapped like that, I don't think I'll be doing any maneuvers on purpose that load the winds that much!
@TorontoR I got my tube from a kite store. They usually carry many different sizes.
You can also order them online. The stock diameter is 6mm. The one I used was just a hair larger at .240 in. I would imagine a 1/4 tube would work also.
Great tip on using the Velcro. My Sky Surfer carbon rod snapped during it's first flight. I wasn't able to find a replacement at the LHS, but did find 1/4" aluminum tubing at the hardware store. I haven't flown it yet, and I hope the tube doesn't bend under stress. We'll see.
Thats probably not CF and mot likely Fiberglass.
