where did you get the idea they are slow? 0-60 mph in 6.2 secs and a restricted 155mph in the uk is not slow. and they are 600kg lighter than a 740i bmw. they only weigh 1600kg, one of the lightest out there. i chnged gear at 130mph yesterday, i had a 740i bmw and a jag xj8 and these blow them away, literaly. if you look up ls400 performance you will be surprised. also out of all 3 the fuel is very good. they are a great car.
Oh no I was refering to the handling. I drive a 240sx and am used to a lighter car. But the Lexus deffinatly accelerates very quickly and you can really feel the torque on highway pulls

can't abuse the 740i too much =P jeez. three of my favorite cars, all competitors to each other, the LS400, Q45, and 740i, however i prefer the 540i, as it can be had with a six speed manual, unlike the Q or LS. Which both require a swap from their 3 liter counterparts. the 2jz (w58) and vh30de(TT) (don't remember trans code)

ok,not to be rude ,but are these cars slow stock? because i was on the highway yesterday and raced a guy in one of these in my 2.7 sonata and he could not pass me,and his shit had flows on it,i could hear it sreaming.like i said not trying to be rude.

they are fast for a luxury sedan and from a fast highway speed it will pin you back in ur seat if it is working well, i out a pulley kit home made cold air intake and throttle body with straight pipes on mine and it screams. the car you saw could have been an sc 400 or es 350.

no there was not any coupe ls400, they were only offered in v8's..and the only v6 coupes were the sc300.

The 1JZ (2.5TT) and 2JZ (3.0TT) were both offered, the 2JZ being in later models obviously. Same engine as in the Supra.
