Eh. I prefer the more mysterious aspect, as the book never clearly said that the boy was thrown from the window. At least it allowed for more imagination, and then you could realise what happened from the twin's actions later on.

I know. I understand that. However, this is fiction, and takes place in a world that is in medieval times. They don't know that. To us, incest is wrong, but to them, incest is normal, and most likely commonly accepted, though I don't know about a relationship as close as brother and sister.

Not all have severe disabilities but there are at times developmental delays. I knew one man who was mentally and physically disabled he looked very much like a character in a Mary Shelley novel.
