  • Hi can u help me? About two months ago i bought a KonKave bearing and i got it to my old yoyo. One week ago i got a new better yoyo(I dont want to buy a new bearing and i have the old bearing) Can i change the bearing from my old to new yoyo? Thx

  • Comment removed

  • I think u can use vasaline

  • i have a Duncan metal drifter and my pads came off and i cant buy any right now. what can i use for temporary use so that my yo-yo will respond. could i use patrolium jelly?

  • i never put lube on my yoyo, is that safe its on my 888x. and the on i did put lube on is no chipping of mettle flakes.but that on a different barring on a different yoyo. but would it effect my 888x barring if i dont lube it, its been like a year sense i got it, and it sings alsomelly .

  • why do you haveto use glass jar i used a paper cup

  • @minigunlover The idea if using glass is that A)it's easy to see if it's clean (because you want a MEGA clean jar for this) and B)the lighter fluid wont break down the walls, meaning you won't get tiny particles of paper inside your bearing.

probably okay if your bearing is inexpensive, but for an (GBP)£18 "KonKave" bearing by Dif-e-Yo, I'd say go the whole hog and use a glass jar. (I picked up a couple of tiny glass jars for 50pence at my University cafeteria (single serving Jam pots)

  • @minigunlover OH! also - you can put the lid on the jar while shaking and after use so you can use the lighter fluid a couple more times and save yourself some cash :D

  • Aaron sparks

  • before u pull out the shield and u pull out the pointy thing is it meant to be curved???

  • what did u use to remove the bearing?

how to remove the bearing of an Sunset NXG yoyo?

  • could u ttl me how to make the yoyo sleep longer

  • @hmng2piano Practice lots is probably the obvious answer. If you have a ball bearing Yo-Yo with a clean bearing sleep time is rarely an issue.

  • Do you have to remove the sheild

  • @1ofthemakers No you don't but it will be harder to get the bearing as clean.

  • instead of spinning the bearing, could i just burn the rest of the lighter fluid off?

  • @CarcinogenicRaccoon No burning the lighter fluid causes problems

  • the last step is to thro a match in the jar with the remainding fluid

  • Looks like your only remove 1 side of the bearing but you say to remove both in the video right? So do I have to remove both is 1 fine?

The Lighter Fluid is bad for the environment so what do you do with it after cleaning?

    Thanks for help

  • @dragen664 It's best to remove both but it will still work even if you don't remove the shields.

Dispose of the lighter fluid carefully!

  • my thin lube screwed up my bearing

  • @acweird What lube were you using? If you were using YoYoJam thin lube then you should have been fine. If you were using a lube that was water based then that might have caused the bearing to rust?

  • @Arron1 i used yyj thin lube and it made it responceave i thogut it was the bearing and did it to annother yoyo and the same thing hapened now i just clean it without the lube

  • @acweird Maybe you used too much lube? You only need to use a tiny amount after you clean the bearing.

  • @Arron1 nope i used 1 drop of lube

  • @acweird literally use less than a drop, rub a needle in some lube and and then pull it out and rub the needle in the bearing, you might not see any lube there but it is there and shall work perfectly. Alternatively if you used a whole drop it will be responsive for a while but you just have to play with it for an hour or so and it shall be back to normal.

  • @acweird Bearing could be warn out?

  • @Arron1 I have the same problem.

When I clean the bearing, it locks up. When I lube (YYJ thin lube) the bearing, it slows down to where it becomes really responsive.

I'm relatively sure I'm not using too much lube.

So, what's your advice to fix this?

  • @acweird well if u already have a dry bearing then don't put thin lube in it. If you do, the yoyo will become responsive. Just clean the bearing and put a drop of lube in it. The lube should break down within... 2 days i'm thinking.

  • I tried this and my bearing busted into about 15 pieces while I was getting it off. I'm not saying it doesn't work, just make sure and be extra carefull.

  • would you recommend lighter fluid or mineral spirits? because im not so sure what type of solvement i should use

  • @sajkam5 does not matter what you would get

  • after i clean the bearing and i am done.could i put the bearing in an protostar yoyo? or it will just affect the bearing and crack it?

  • @sajkam5 So long as you remove the bearing from the Yo-Yo before soaking the bearing in lighter fluid and dry out the lighter fluid by spinning the bearing for a while it should be fine. Of course all responsibility lies with you though!

  • i heard that lighter fluid would break everything in the bearing.why did you use it in this video??

  • @sajkam5 You heard wrong.

  • @Arron1 your captain said so

  • @h3llboy6661 andre said that lighter fluid will break everything in the bearing

  • @h3llboy6661 In my 7+ years doing this I've found that is process would only break the bearing if you leave it in the lighter fluid for too long, don't dry it out and don't oil it. If you follow my instructions then you should be fine. But it's your bearing so if you don't feel comfortable risking it then don't do. Good luck!

  • i lubed my yoyo without cleaning it and now it grabs the string when i tug on it. how do i make it totally unresponsive(does not grab the string)

  • @Sky5800 which lube did u use?? if it is thick then it will tug on the string, if u want it unresponisve clean the yoyo (shown in the video) and use THIN lube.

  • @kidlove214NO i used thin lube. im not stupid you know

  • will butane lighter fuel work as a cleaning agent or no?

  • @prballer88 If it is lighter fluid then I would think so yes. But if it goes wrong I can not be held responsible. Good luck!

  • @prballer88 it can be but it will damage plastic if ur yoyo is mad with plastic

  • Lol ya

  • I like how he says carefully place the bearing into the jar, then he just dropped it in

  • what trick is that called " 0:31

  • wat does a real lighter fluid does?

umm could this works for fhz and i dont got the yyj oils

    plz reply

  • @duncandonutsert Lighter fluid is normally used in lighters as flue. In our case we are using it as a cleaning agent. It will work for a FHZ bearing yes and I recommend using YYJ thin oil as it will extend the life of the bearing.

  • is the lighter fluid corrosive to all plastic yoyos.

please make a video showing bearing sizis

  • @yoyokidify probably not all plastic Yo-Yos as there are 1000s of types, it depends on the plastic.

  • Yay finally I perfectly cleaned my yo-yo. It's whizzing like... something that wizz a lot<XD. Thank ya lot.

  • is charcoal fluid good and what is that yellow yoyo

  • how much drips of thin Jamoil you use to bearing after you clean it? I think i used too much and my yoyo when spinning it makes bubbling voice and has shorter sleep.

  • Yeah it sounds like you may have over done the oil. It does depend on how you like your Yo-Yos. You should be using thin YoYoJam oil if you want a unresponsive Yo-Yo, probably only one or two drops really.

  • ok thanks

  • what tool you were using to remove the bearing (the little metal pipe)

  • @yoyoguylol I was using a little metal pipe

  • @Arron1 hi can you tell me something more about your signature yoyo from your site ?

  • Yeah its a ProJam made by YoYoJam and only available from Team YYJ players. It's a ball bearing Yo-Yo uses starburst response. Plays a little bit like a Patriot.

  • @Arron1 ok i may get it

  • @Arron1 where did you get it

  • Local DIY store.

  • what yo yo are you using in this video?

and some people recommend leaving the bearing in the cleaning liquid for 30 min to a couple of hours, how come you said to shake vigorously?

  • read the discripition

  • Is their anything else beside lighter fluid that will do the same thing? will soap and water help?

  • Do NOT use water or soap, they really will rust your bearing. My advice is use lighter fluid.

  • also can you apply lube right when you get a yoyo will this affect anything

  • @yoyojen7 Yes you can apply Yo-Yo lube straight away. depending on the type of lube (thin or thick) It will either make the Yo-Yo very responsive or just a little responsive.

  • that axiom is sick, is it painted?

  • @kartman530 No, I believe it was a team special but it is sweet!

  • Hey, where do you buy lighter fluid from? ive looked everywhere? cheers

  • Try a corner shop, DIY store, tobacconist?

  • hi just wondering does it matter what type of lighter fluid i use to do this?

  • It shouldn't do no. So long as it is lighter fluid and not petrol you should be fine. If you are really worried then use Zippos as I know that works as that is what I'm using in the video however in the past I have used many different brands and noticed no difference in end result.

  • ok thanks just never had to clean my bearing so far and i have noticed my yoyo not spinning for as long so i think i think its time i did :D

  • As I said it should be fine but if you are really worried don't try it. Personally I do it all the time without any downside.

  • oh ok thank you its just ive got a ceramic ball bearing for my dark magic and i wanted to make sure it was safe

  • @19SamMan98 As stated "Ceramic bearings should not be cleaned in the way described in the video."

  • oh poop do you know how i could clean a ceramic bearing ive looked all over and cant find a good one

  • Only if the bearing is left in the lighter fluid for any considerable length of time (20mins or more).

  • um i was wondering would the lighter fluid eat away the metal?

  • No it will not so long as you don't leave the lighter fluid on the bearing for any serious length of time. You only need to have it in the lighter fluid for a couple of mins, then just make sure you spin it dry and add a drop or two of oil. This is standard practice for advanced Yo-Yo players.

  • What yoyo areyou using in this vid

  • @19SamMan98 As stated is the 'info' section, "Yo-Yo used in this video: Axiom & Sunset Trajectory NXG". Maybe read a little more carefully next time? ;)

  • Oh ok thanks and sorry

  • That was great!

  • cool thanks, the only bit that scares me is removing the clip and putting it back on right.

  • @plotagainstjohn You don't have to remove the C clips, it just helps throughly clean the bearing. I personally don't remove them for my Sunset Trajectory NXGs because I then put thick YoYoJam Lube in it anyway.
