I'm judging their disability in accordance to its effect to other people. A guy on a wheelchair can't run, but he can find a way to race without using legs.

The disability is an excuse when it affects one's performance and only that person's performance. What it shouldn't be justifiable is when it affects other people (eg. the guy can't run so he can use a machine to help him win a race).

Earl isn't just throwing a tantrum, he's throwing a tantrum to SOMEONE ELSE. It gives him an advantage and using a Bipolar condition to justify that advantage shouldn't be allowed. If he can't control his condition, be it pills or therapy, then he should just quit.

On a second thought, I'll answer your question.

If I remember correctly, Efren Reyes ran out 9 racks with insanely difficult racks. The commentator also mentioned that his run outs were much more superior compared to Earl's best runouts.

Reyes also came back from a 17-rack defecit against Earl in The Color Of Money tournament.

And of course, When the 16-year-old Wu Chia Ching won the World Pool Championship, he ran out 5 consecutive racks to win 17-16 with huge pressure.
