I've been watching the show through from the beginning, my first time as an adult, and was really impressed with the show - right up until the episode this video kicks off with, 'Harvest of Kairos'. It is by far the most unintentionally hilarious tv episode I've ever seen. The 'rapey' guy is comedy gold.
Inspired! Well done! Great editing, very subtle sometimes, very audacious at others! This is a work of love and it shows. Thanks for putting the time in to do this - it could possibly spawn new interest in the enigma that was Blake's 7.
Wonderful song to show off the sheer levels of marvelous cheese! I discovered this series in the nod-nineties, courtesy of fanfic recs. You bet it was "acceptable in the eighties!" Oh, but Servalan is still one of the most savvy and clever villains of all time, the show's tone inspired just about everything on the air today (which is not necessarily a good thing), and the video was very well-edited.
@deedia Acctually, there were two seriesof Blakes 7 in the 70's and two in the 80's. However, if you read the title of the video, this is just Blakes 7 SERIES 3, which most definately WAS the 80's. OK? It helps to read. ;-)
@Alphan True but it did run until 1981. Its interesting to see how the show's style reflects the fashion of the New Romantics such as Ultravox or Soft Cell.
This is marvelous! Very well selected clips and very good timing. I'd forgotten what a wonderful disco ball Zen used to be. I very much miss this show. It had to be so much fun to bring to life.
Has anyone stopped to consider how prophetic the series & writings of the late & Very Great Terry Nation were ? Cameras everywhere, control through a police state. Suppression of decenters.... (and much more that is hidden from the public) ... NuLabour Government anyone...? NOW, I know we are all here for FUN, and I can already hear people saying "bugger off with your conspiracy theories", sure, I'll leave that up to you.... But if you ARE curious go to: theantiterrorist channel you-tube
I haven't even got up to Series 3 yet and even I find it addictive to watch! In fact it was partially this vid that got me to start watching the series in the 1st place!
The other reason? Avon and his awesome, deadpan one liners!
Great video well done. How i miss the 80's when men were men and women had nice sexy figures not the size zero stick insects of today. Shows like this and space 1999 were so exciting but after all this time real life still aint like this in the space race. Which is a shame . Great memories of a great era.
Hmmm? Acceptable then for women to fight and be sexual on a par with men but not now, or an incredible misunderstanding of the PC that started to set in around then that started to frown on that kind of earlier openness?
I just got into this series a couple of months ago having just completed series/season 1. Thanks for posting this clips with that great song. No wonder my 80's generation is so screwed up, lol.
Space invaders had nothing on this or even Doctor Who except for Tom Baker no one messes with tom and Leala that bitch was one tough woman constantly in a state of pms.
These shows were fun. Shows today need to also cast older people. I"m tired of seeing kids all of the time. And they don't always have to look like freaking models.
I have to say that was brilliant! The song went well wuth the clip and you synced it superbly with the footage. 10/10. There's quite a few of these kind of things where someone cobbles together clips of a show with a song and they turn out rubbish, but this was manifique ! Big Blakes 7 fan too as well, so it was doubly good !
This never fails to make me laugh...and you may notice a new dance craze sweeping Cambridge, called 'The Avon Chop'. All thanks to your amazing editing! More please!! xx

not a million spatials from the truth deadpool! but a lot of top stuff in between too like rumours of death, city at the edge of the world, pressure point, sand... But it's a fairish point nonetheless. Anyway - a great compliation this, albeit for a show that was half made in the 70's! anyone got logic of empire on their hard drive by the way?!
Ok..yea SAND was a good mid season 4 ep. I guess im thinking of season's 3 where they seemed to just be space hopping without any real plan (or script haha!) Still I watch them over on DVD so they must have some appeal.
Season 3 is in many ways the most meandering and pointless, yet I think it's my favourite overall, and I couldn't quite tell you why. It does feature the special effects nadir, though: the hilariously awful pantomime-standard creatures in Harvest of Kairos. And Dawn of the Gods is just atrocious.
I love Blake's 7! I didn't even care when the show suddenly became more about Avon's love life than fighting the Federation! That song fits perfectly and it even looks like they're dancing to it in some spots!
