Yes, I'm deeply moved by the English version sung by Hayley. Before learning about the lyrics in English I did love the original Japanese lyrics that's a real story made me cry. It's not easy to sing such a song in English with the same feelings touched in my mind as I sing it in Japanese lyrics. This is another reason I like Hayley's English version. She is such a wonderful singer in her own style that no need to compare with other singers.
I'm Okinawan and love this song very, very much. At the moment I live far, far away from Okinawa. This song reminds me of living there, my friends, of course my family. I personally think it's really difficult to translate from original lyrics to English because some Japanese are unable to explain in English and other way around is also impossible. I can feel her emotion and her voice is so sweet. Thanks for uploading!!!!!
I thought this was going to be in Japanesem I prefer the original because of the emotional sadness that it builds; i'm not referring that this is bad but it ain't my type btw she has an amazing voice, i pretty much think if it was a love song, her voice would actually make the song inspirat.
@Sayuridesu Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but no need to compare complete different people. You should watch Hayley perform live, you might change your mind ;)
@colliezoya That's true to some extent, but there are exceptions. "Nada sousou" is a song from Okinawa. Natsukawa Rimi is herself an Okinawan and Moriyama Ryoko who wrote the song wrote it in the memory of her late brother who died in war. Needless to say, they really know what they're singing, with all its associated sentiment, emotion, history, and importance of the song. Their renditions are far more profound and emotional because this song actually means a great deal for them.
For those who lost loved ones, this song is unbearably painful, yet it is somehow comforting as well.
I was introduced to this song by a friend only a couple of months after losing my dear husband - so soon that the phrase "your memories may fade" tore my already-wounded-heart twice over and I never could listen to the whole song until a few days ago.
Now 17 months on, although I still see every expression on his face, hear his voice, smell his favourite scent so easily and so vividly, I seem to have regained some strength to accept all those phrases however painful they may be.
I suppose it is comforting because the song speaks for my grief. Listening to Hayley's beautiful voice, while I "drown in my own tears", gives me a small but certain solace like a tiny sunlight through the leaves in deep and dark forest.
simply beautiful! this song truly speaks to me because i have lost someone near and truly dear to my heart & every time I hear this song it makes me think of that special person & comforts me in a way. this song is truly amazing! haha, i always get a little teary every time I hear it!XD
thx hayley , i got this song from a friend because i lost my son .but this songslyric is telling how i feel. Even i pray to god to let me see a star that my son is with him in heaven in a very dark and clowdy night and star apears.i dont know how thank you but god will bless you.
@overpwnageuber Dear, thanks for your information. I do know that the original is in Japanese, since I don't understand Japanese, English version is easier for me to approach it.
We had to learn this song For My Japanese Culture Class in Japanese, and I always wanted to hear the full version of the song WITh the English lyrics. :)

I don't hear any emotion in this version...she is just singing a song...Moriyama Ryoko and Natsukawa Rimi REALLY sing this song.
