@CRRockanimal BEAUTIFUL BEYOND WORDS--WE HAVE HOPE OF THAT CHANCE--IT IS A NEW DREAM THAT HAS ARISEN OUT OF THE ASHES OF MLK'S DREAM--IT IS THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF A GENERATION THAT WANTS TO SHARE THE EARTH'S RESOURCES AMONGST ALL THE WORLD'S PEOPLE --ELEVATING MANKIND- ALL MEN CREATED EQUAL.
Severe Civil rights crimes are committed in Canada by authorities against citizens who try to use their constitutional civil right of not talking to them. This anti-democracy, authority attacks happen with lazer/tazer type guns which work through concrete walls of your home from outside or even the floor above. They rape women with these high power guns, also abuse their access to high ranking officials giving them one side of false story against citizen who questions their abuse of power.
He is a American Hero, He will live on forever, R.I.P true king! he may be gone, By he still has his pride. We love you! thank you for fighting for what you believed!
Let me just say that I am thankful that the niggers made this a holiday where we Whites can get the day off in the urban areas, where we Whites can at least spend that day away from the niggers and liberals who want to glorify this dope smoking commie woman beater.
MLK was a communist as well as a whore! He must also be a hypocrite since he deems himself a "man of God"!
@ shiramo: THANK YOU for this beautiful work!!! The song and the images work so well together! ART at its finest and a amazing way to honor the VISION of Dr. King's blessed message of HOPE of what this country CAN BE! I THANK YOU.
Beautiful video for a beautiful blessed man. He will be forever missed. He knew his days were numbered and that was not important to him..only Justice, Equality, Unity, and an end to hate and racisim was his goal. God bless MLK forever. Thank you for this beautiful memorial video. God bless <3
The negative remarks from those who thrive on hate do not even deserve any response ! Yet I do love the individuals who chose to hate, hoping that someday that their hearts are changed! I really feel sorry for them. God bless all mankind!
@rthing I heard a Hitler speech about 45 minutes ago and went elsewhere. HE had NO REAL poltical struggles, only his own daddy issues. His stepfather was Jewish and did not treat his mother well, so he took it out on SIX MILLION innocent souls... I wish that you would get a clue and realize that we are all ONE!!! Oh, and by the way, get a mitochondrial DNA test done and you will see that even YOU come from MOTHER AFRICA!!! The racism you practice comes from your own fear of others.
@terminalva But today, the state of Israel is bulldozing homes, and tearing families apart. Just because this is not on the news does not mean people are not aware of this injustice. It is unjust
This was a challenging time in our nation, one we should never forget. And I thank him for what he did for our country. For all people. Men, women, children, elderly, handicap, and beyond.
You are correct. I was just defending the video. :) Somebody commented that it was wrong to add this song to this video because it took away from its originality or something like that.
@RMPify why was it a pity that he was religious? obviously it contributed to making him a better person. there is nothing wrong with being religious as long as your not hurting others and your not trying to impose your religion on others.. part of having freedom means having freedom to practice a certain religion if you feel in your heart to do so.. religious or not.. there was nothing pitiful about this man.. freedom for all !!!
@RMPify it was a rhetorical question to make a point to you.. but I guess you didn't get it huh?
let me make things simple for you to understand: I don't believe that it was a bad thing that he was religious, or that he believed in God.. let people believe what they want to as long as they respect and treat others with dignity and kindness..
By the way i forgot to say i think it does make a good tribute, would the man look down on this no, never he wanted to build people up not tear them down.
Great job! U2 and MLKjr , what could be more inspiring!
Thank you for making this tribute. Today of all days, the 47th anniversary of his I Have A Dream speech at the Lincoln Mem in DC Glenn Beck and his zombie followers are staging a protest to restore honor to America. WHAT A JOKE. He actually had the nerve to call President Obama a racist. How disgraceful and how shameful. We must fight the hate and ignorance with LOVE as much as this makes me want to scream.

Thank you for this wonderful video! Dr. King would be in his early 80's today had he lived, and I wonder what he would have to say about the good and bad that we've become. Man, why taint what's pure, and make it so unappealingly cliche and lame to a mass that might need its purity, and add U2 to it. Why not just make it into a Kodak Commercial and use Louis Armstrongs What a Wonderful World, Although your choice of song is actually more humiliating. You don't taint what's pure my friend. You don't commercialize for the mass even if your promoting whats great. You cheapen and stupify it.Not a big deal in scheme of life, but come on U2? your alienating
The only thing 'pure' about YOUR comment is your unfulfilled hate and lack of basic grammar. Do me a favor and make a tribute to someone special in your life, maybe a parent who you obviously did not learn anything from, and send it to me. I want to see you use one ounce of creativity to honor and celebrate someone in your life. You wasted a lot of energy writing a lame comment...next time think about how you can use that energy positively or constructively. YOU'RE fired.
@shiramo - Very nice slideshow! Keep up the good work.
By the way, I clicked on 'navigator274's link to see what he's uploaded and I got this message: "This channel is no longer available because the user closed their account." -- Don'tcha love it?
@shiramo I don't agree w/ navigator's comment. But it's an artistic call, though I get the impression navigator is unaware U2 wrote that song in honor of Dr. King. You did a wonderful job w/ your tribute. Someone once said words represent ideas, music represents emotion & when the 2 are combined it's a beautiful thing.
However, your response to navigator's criticism, misplaced though it was, may be a little over the top. Anyone who can create such beauty can respond more positively.
@shiramo VERY NICE VIDEO AND CREATIVE , M.L.K. CAME WITH LOVE TILL THE VERY END. SO HE DID COME IN THE NAME OF LOVE HE WANTED EVERYONE TO LOVE EACH OTHER. AND WELL DONE IN RESPONDING TO THE HATERS...<3
@navigator2974 It does not matter what they do to this the message comes through loud and clear, this mans words are eternal, these are words of hope.
@navigator2974 Do you know this song is actually written about MLK Jr. "Early morning, April 4th, Shots ring out in the Memphis sky" That's about his assassination.
@navigator2974 This song was written specifically FOR and to honor MLK. Try listening to the lyrics and maybe do some research before you make negative comments.
@rthing FUCK YOU, ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO END UP CAUSING UNHAPPINESS! YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS THAT YOU ARENT SOMEONE WHO CAN CHANGE THE WORLD WITH A BRILLIANT MIND AND COURAGEOUS HEART! SO YOU KNOW WHAT, SUCK IT BITCH! I LOVE MLK YOU WANT HITLER TO SKIN ME TOO?!? FUCK YOU
@rthing You're a disgrace to humanity. Not just white people, YouTube users, or just those watching this (fantastic) video... You're a disgrace to the entire human race, of which there is one. Human beings.
I don't wish you ill. I just hope you can someday open your eyes to see the truth about the beauty of all humanity on this planet.
The founding fathers were Free Masons. They accepted all religions are from God. The Qur'an says the same that all religions are from God,but only the Koran says that all men are created equal, so then Christianity is to be nourished by the Qur'an. Civil rights was a waste of time for if MLK accepted the Qur'an then we would have not only brotherly love, but world peace. God is invisible, he is not a man, that is a lie, Romans 3:4,7, and what follows is a lie, Civil rights is also a lie.
Great video. The only thing that doesn't seem to fit are the images of Malcom X and the black power salute which were repudiations of Dr. King's belief in non-violent resistance based on love seeking reconciliation.
This video reminded me that Martin Luther King was a Christian, and his actions where develop from the Bible truth. Thank you God for using your servant to benefit the many.
Thich nhat Hanh, Martin Luther King's mentor, is a propaganda tool for the communist regime in Vietnam. A leader of anti-war movement in Vietnam war, he turned a blind eye to Hue massacre of 5,000 civilians by Vietcong in 1968 & Vietnam invasion and occupation of Cambodia in 1978. In 2005 and 2007 he returned to Vietnam to help the communist regime to improve its bad image for human rights violations and religious oppression so that Vietnam could gain permanent normal trade status with the US.
Martin Luther father of black liberty... father of love since 1960s, father of brother and sister black and whiter...Son of God OUr Father, .. There is no peace in love love is peace forever... Ghandy
WHY!? WHY is it EVERY God Damn Time that brilliant words are spoken that it must be "God speaking through him" that is COMPLETE bullshit.
He is a BRILLIANT artist, a beautiful person and an all round fantastic person. That doesn't automatically mean a deity of some kind is speaking through him.
zzzthaoster you are as ignorant as the next person who WILL say something stupid like this. I'm not saying there isn't a god (aethiest or not) it is unfair to give credit to "God" when U2 wrote it.
If U reject God now, at the end of life God will reject U....U are no body if not God who loved and made u, and still keeps U today much more than He keeps the creatures of Life...! Be wise my friend...and make a timely U-turn B4 its too late !

cool song eh ! most people dont quite under stand wat its about i only do beacuse my history told us but we had 2 write as s.a about who was the most important guy in the civil rights movement i wrote martan luther king jr others chose malcom X n muhaed ali
may his killer suffer for etternity in hell for what he did to humanity! If King were alive today he would be able to see president Obama being elected. But now that i come to think about it...everything happens for a reason right??Even if we'll never find the reason or even understand it there has to be a reasonable reason for his death.Even then the myrderer will still be burned.lol
MLK is unforgotten, he changed history. My heartfelt thanks to him. Truth is, that our Generation instead of being smarter, get's more discriminating than ever. It's forbidden to speak of white pride, but we celebrate black pride one month long. Every Nation made mistakes, some bigger than others. Point is, we all are equal. No matter what color our skin or language we speak - I wasn't brought up like that, but I teach it to my kids. It's my faith, my believe. In hope of a better future.
That is very true RNLUVSU2. It seems that the more we have sought to de-segregate, the more segregated we have become, keeping racial scorecards and shedding blood for blood. That is not what King and his supporters fought, bled, and died for. King fought so that what happened on Nov. 4 and what is happening tomorrow could be possible. There doesn't have to be one month to celebrate your heritage, because we're all human beings, and you can celebrate that 24/7/365.
Love is the only true religion and it is not a religion because it doesn't enslave you, it sets you free. Love unites ALL mankind and lends power through the Heart and moves you so profoundly that it transcends all fear, all guilt and all need to protect the ego. LOVE is the expression your spirit and freedom is her child. -Bill
Martin Luther king and what he wanted to achieve was driven by the intentions of Love, Compassion and equalness.
I knew this would succeed, because Love never fails. like he said: "Not the weak kind of Love. But the Love that is so pure, so strong that it becomes so demanding, no one Stop it."
Just the same as with Ghandi, who had simular intentions. Once this is set out to the world, one can kill them, or do whatever. But one can't Stop it because Love never fails.
Please note, by the time declaring Independency, Mr. H^` tried to provoke friendship with US and even French. Unfortunately, they choose Mr. Diem. However, all of our leaders included our King, Sir Ba?o Dda.i are clever and real patriots. They all agreed on an election for the unity of our country. However, _our wish, their decision. We were victimized through the massacre of our own brothers!
Big mistake! The potential should be invested in stabilizing, securing Peace in the region instead.
They have voted for CHANGE. Let's HOPE President Obama will now keep FAITH with the great American public and work at the risks of life and limb,to deliver the CHANGE for the betterment of all good peoples,in the name of LOVE!
Always remember.. those who crave evil, will never expose themselves, therefore can never be stopped. Let righteousness do the same. One who seeks pride, exposes himself to apply his face to the truths that were given to him by observance and claims it as his own, when in fact, it was the light within him which gave it to him. That light is truth, and his observance is enough. Give freely without any payment that of which was given to you. Be faceless, and nameless and it can never be stopped.
To admit one's wrongs is not a condemnation of one's personality, but should be rejoiced that you have learned something.
We are all born naked, blind, helpless, and ignorant from infantcy, so to think you know all if a denial of the day you were born and what you were born into. It is not personal at all, just the sanity that we are all learning and must be continually taught. If we're willing to accept that Truth.
I crave learning, I crave love, I crave forgiveness, and I crave caringness.
MLK could have done so much more good for humanity had he remained faceless, and nameless. You need no face with truth. You need no name with truth. You need nothing if truth is what's spoken. Let man judge by the truths in his heart. We have the power to understand that in a world where we stero type, it plays a factor in our decisons. Are you willing to let racism go, or hold on to it for the sake of being superior? I would rather truth, no matter who delivers it, so long as it reaches us all.
mlk never is out of style. always cool and eloquent. the sound of his voice making goosebumps and misty eyes and smiles. a saint among us for a short while. amen.
can we as Americans change the name of Martin Luther King Holiday to "Civil Rights Day"?
Why should one man get more credit than all U.S. Presidents.. why should one man and his work consume us every year? Remind us about all the Civil Rights advances..instead of glorification of one man
Never did American history where I live, how fantastic, electrifying, and magical was he?. Been researching him for last 6 months, his whole speech can never be beaten.Pity he's not here now. R.I.P. - YOU DID GOOD. X. P.S. at least I'm from the same country that this song is from!! Pride. In The Name of Love.
My reading teacher said something about this in her critical voice. I looked at the lyrics, which she had put up on the wall and it seemed familar. she said to the class that u2 did the song. since I was bored just now I searched it. I have heard it before and it's very very good.
I truly believe Dr King Jr was murdered because he was seen as a threat on the Governmental class that has developed. He was seen as presidential material then and I truly believe that Dr. King Jr would have been America's first black President.
I wish I was a stronger person watching this. I wish I was there live for his speech. I wish he was a politician today. I wish him to rest in peace - a hero to a middle class white chick 40 years later. HE DID GOOD. R.I.P. and Thank you.

You cheapen and stupify it.Not a big deal in scheme of life, but come on U2? your alienating
navigator2974 2 years ago

@navigator2974 This song was written specifically FOR and to honor MLK. Try listening to the lyrics and maybe do some research before you make negative comments.

RNLUVSU2 3 years ago 3
That is very true RNLUVSU2. It seems that the more we have sought to de-segregate, the more segregated we have become, keeping racial scorecards and shedding blood for blood. That is not what King and his supporters fought, bled, and died for. King fought so that what happened on Nov. 4 and what is happening tomorrow could be possible. There doesn't have to be one month to celebrate your heritage, because we're all human beings, and you can celebrate that 24/7/365.

Love is the only true religion and it is not a religion because it doesn't enslave you, it sets you free.

His dream was the nightmare of those who do not accept all men are equal.
So they killed him.
But his dream lives on.
The Empire builders must destroy this dream to achieve their aims. For if all men are equal, how to justify war, conquest, dominion and exploitation?

Why should one man get more credit than all U.S. Presidents.. why should one man and his work consume us every year? Remind us about all the Civil Rights advances..instead of glorification of one man
