why do people let the bow swing down like that ? does it have any effect at all or is it for show?as an archer myself i've never done this or thought it might help in anyway but i do see a lot of people doing this .....guess i'm just curious
@sevendeadly69 for the competitive recurve bow, the less grip you have on the raiser (the bow) will help stablise the arrow as it release...hence the arrow will travel straighter. it doesnt matter much with the long bow because the draw weight is usually very heavy.
@wanaBarcher I agree too low elbow position is certainly not beneficial, but this elbow position is perfect, it puts the scapula down which enables you to use the strongest muscle of your back most usefully. Also the lan 2 HAS to move angularly around the spine and not straight back because it is impossible to pull it straight back and if you don't pull angularly you can't use your back muscles efficiently.
it depends how long your neck is regarding elbow position

her elbow seems way to low and she needs to focas on haveing her lan 2 come stright back instead of back in an angular motion

Her elbow is in direct alignment with her forward arm. That's called a perfect release.
