  • good Job....

    I like It...:-)

  • so how much ?

  • do they make a replica of this watch?

  • How much do these cost

  • And where I can check what time it is !!!!! Pretty watch though but hard to see the hands!!!

  • ugly watch

  • why would anybody want a POS digital when you have amazing art like this?!

  • why is it called portuguese minute repeater?

  • omg wonderful!!!

  • its 12:59 on this watch, hence the first tune (hours) is x12 then the second (15mins) is three times 45 min and then third tune for minutes x 14 is 14 minutes, 12:45 + 14 minutes

  • @usmali2000All that from the tension of a spring.

  • I want one...then found the 88k price tag lol

  • I would probably require the life history of whoever I let do the service on a watch like this. No doubt I would be the most annoying customer they had ever seen.

  • Finally! People that understand my passion of mechanical watches! People at job call me weirdo and idiot because I buy expensive and "useless" watches... It's not a watch... it's the work of carefully instructed artists...

  • @matheusgrage That's not a watch, that's art!

  • @matheusgrage Agreed! Don't worry, you are not alone! :)

  • quartz sucks. mechanical watches rules.

  • ...oops nevermind...

  • Sorry if I sound like a noob :P Does it make that sound each minute? I mean LOL if you are wearing it while sitting at an exam lol :D

  • Portugal!!

  • All right, let's take it scuba diving!

  • Very interesting, I'd like to see the specific parts used for the chimes.

  • whats it do appart from look complicated?

  • @0Mingab0

It's a minute repeater, if you knew your watch terms you'd know what a minute repeater represents as a fine timepiece.

  • i wish i have one of them....

  • I may be mising something. What are the dings supposed to mean. I though mayve it chimed the hour off but the dings didn't match the time on the face.

  • @mj9287 The low pitched chimes are the hours. The double chimes are the 15 minute intervals, and the high pitched chimes are the minute intervals. The three sets of chimes add up to each other to "tell" you the time. For instance, 3:57 would be 3 low pitched chimes (for hours), 3 double chimes (for 15 minute intervals), and 12 high pitched chimes (for minutes).

  • 12:59?

  • omg i was getting crazy when i saw this i desire one of those that i could see the our while i see the mechanism of my watch that was frenzy omg

  • Portuguese? It says "Eh Caralho!" at the end of ding-ding?

  • In a world of microchips and automation, its wonderful that we can still produce such wonders of engineering, this is simply beautiful

  • How do you get one of them?

  • O orgulho de ser Português :') *ding ding ding* xD

  • @TirantVirus A IWC faz seus relógios na Suiça.

  • GIMME!!!.......please?

  • No offense but this isn't a watch, this is a engineering joule : )

  • @DaReggaeMAN77 yes well... fuck -.-

  • it's... ALLLIVVVE!!

  • credor is better

  • @xBMCJ i cannot say im surprised about this price but iam also not happy about it -.-

well maybe i win a lottery or something like that ^^

  • exellent & perfect

  • i would love to have a watch like that... but let me guess the price tag is over

    10.000$

    maybe one day...

  • the movement is so gentle its splendid !!!

  • I have a watch like this. It's really cool to see the machinery. It's also powered by a spring which is wound as I walk so, that's pretty cool.

  • @MaestroAlvis

With 'a wath like this' i reckon you're referring to a skeleton watch? I also have one myself.

You can buy them for less than ten dollars on Ebay Asia, even automatics. The quality is actually pretty good.

But... it will never come close to an IWC

  • @beunhaas102 Ya I caught on to that when the screws on mine were not properly fastened. The pengelum insides came off and I had to open it up to reattach it.

  • With all the computers and phones and hdtv's out today an automatic watch is one of the greastest things ever invented i own a armitron automatic that is just wonderfull watching the movement amazes me

  • WHOAA

  • oh great!

  • Amazing craftmanship!

  • Sick!

  • Amazing ROLLS-ROYCE Watches with 2 Gyrotourbillons

    youtube.com/watch?v=TD-iaMpqOZY

  • Phenominal - Yes to the time of 12:59 @ bakebizzel - Many thanks for posting this video

  • waw

  • I believe the repeater conveyed the time was 12:59. The low bongs (12) are for hours the double for quarter hour (3) and the single high bings (14) minutes after last quarter.

  • Oh my bloody good grief, thats beautiful! wowee, just seeing the train working especially the governor! lucky lucky you.

  • that is incredible

  • beautiful

  • Speaking from the view of a Mech Eng and someone who has always been fascinated by machinery, these mechanical watches are purely a celebration of the machine as art, and have become even moreso with the advent of quartz and full-on digital timekeeping.

  • Things like this cannot be replaced electronically, the time keeping aspect yes, but there is so much more to these creations than pure utility!

  • how much?

  • too much.

  • lol

  • That watch is absolutely amazing!

  • It's a masterpiece.....to those who really appreciates fine, intricate and complicated movements. Been to the World Fine Watches recently held in Starhill, Ritz Charlton / JW Marriot KL, Malaysia. Really awesome....

  • Yea but what is its purpose (apart from looking good which is no purpose).

  • pretty handy for totally silent rooms

  • isnt that the purpose of the minute repeater? To tell the time at night.. when it is usually silent?

  • Okay, you got me there...lol

  • What do these chimes mean?

  • nice

  • The chimes tell a different time than what the hands indicate.

  • no they dont. the last series of chimes does 14 gongs ala 14:00 as the watch was clearly set to, and the first chimes represent the minute hands in 5 minute increments . do your homework tex

  • Sorry, I am a Patek fan. I am used to their system of chimes.

  • but if the hours are 14, then the hands should be pointing at 15:00. since its just one minute short of 15:00. feeling smart now, eh.

  • its 2 o clock 1400 hours 14 gongs 2 oclock.... retard its 60 minutes short of 1500

  • lol, it counts, as follows.

    12 single high strikes

    3 double strikes

    14 low strikes.

If you are correct, that would mean, 14(for 2 o clock), 3 quarters+14 minutes, that totals up to *drumroll* 14:59! and there is no such thing as a 24hour minuterepeater.

what the watchhands are pointing at however is. 12:59, which fits perfectly for 12 single highs(12 hours), 3 doubles(3 quarters) and 14 lows(14 minutes)

  • Around 85000

  • how much would this cost someone.

  • very nice!

  • love it

  • that should get some attention every hour :)

    love IWC!

  • This is sick. How can one man manage to invent something like this in a lifespan? Genius!

  • @robberval wasnt one man. just getting the base part of a watch working correctly took many hundreds of years for many different watchmakers to evolve and perfect the escapement. the repeater part is of course extremely complicated to make.

  • what does minute reaper do

  • It tells you the time. First rings are for the hours, second ring is for the quarters, third ring is for the minutes. Here, 12 rings, then 3 rings (3x15 minutes) then 14 rings adds up to 12:59

  • While technology has allowed us to create battery operated timepieces, the most beautiful designs are those that are spring driven. Good quality wind up timepieces are becoming hard to come by - and once you have one, cherish it.

  • what the hell are you talking about? theres not a single comment saying its fake. the last person to call out a fake watch would be a chinese guy seeing as how theyre all about making the fakes to begin with.

ive never seen a fake minute repeater in my life, i cant imagine anyone would go through the trouble of trying.

  • Every other video of any halfway decent watch has idiots crying fake on it. This one Chinese idiot in particular was all over the breitlingsource vids there a while ago. Go look. And I agree with everything you said. You're preaching to the choir.

  • lots of watch videos have people crying fake on it, but ive never seen such a remark from a chinese person. its usually just kids who have never seen the watches in real life.

chinese people dont give a crap about watches. hell, a chinese guy would probably make fun of someone who -isnt- wearing a fake.

  • They don't make "fake" repeaters... or rather "fake" watches of repeaters. None of the Chinese manufacturers produce them.

  • Holy fucking Jesus Christ sarcasm is completely lost on you isn't it.

  • Jepp! If a manufacturer is able to build this complication, it would be more lucrative to sell it expensive with own(!) label, than sell it illegal as a fake labeled IWC.

That's why there are no faked repeaters on the marked. ;-)

I don't know exactly, but I guess, there are not much more than 50 manufacturers on earth, who can build such a mecanic that fitts in a watch.

  • @SH1974 not 50. more like perhaps 10

  • @lolcat23 see swisswatchtrading. ch

  • It's beautiful. How could a person figure out how to create this? Wow :)

  • There's something totally awesome about this but I'm not quite sure what yet.

  • I think it's awesome because it's complex!

  • now thats art!

  • WoW!!!!!, What a beauty of a watch!!! Such horological skill and artistic craftsmanship.

  • this guy is like sylar!

  • great watch thanks

  • Comment removed

  • awesomeeee !!!!!!

    :)

  • omg, how come watch can be so beautiful?

  • my iwc tzc automatik

  • Wow!

  • Thats sexy.

  • It's the name of the watch wee-tard.

  • 12:59 alright! Effin Gorgeous!

  • so.... how much for the taiwanese imitation?

  • AHAH If you find one please let me know!

  • that mecanic is far to complicated to imitate.

  • yes... but not impossible..

  • If someone who doesn't have the experience of machtmaking is trying to imitate such a movement, this person or this company has to let experienced people work on this thing..And people who are able to work in such beatiful perfection are artists and they don't sell their experience and knowings for money. Watchmaking is an art which has to be learned and earned by the watchmakers themselves.

  • That's only how the watch is called. It's made in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

  • No, that's JAPAN!

  • ah, I'm just kidding ya

  • Whats the pricetag on this marvel?

  • wow IWC very good top quality watch

  • What camcorder did you use? Never seen such sharp image in makro mode.

  • 12:59

  • that's right!

12 low tone gongs (for full hours)

3 double gongs (for 3 quarter hours)

14 high tone gongs (for 14 minutes)

    all together equals 12:59

Without skeleton, this watch cost about 40 grants!

  • What are you saying would it cost more if it wasn't a skeleton?

  • No, of course this beautyful skeleton model is much more expensive than the non skeleton model. But in the catalogue i own there is only the price for the non skeletted model, which costs about 40 grants.

  • That's what i thought. This watch is a beautiful piece of functional art work, it's just amazing!

  • Does that mean this repeater sounds the time for 24 hours instead of 12 hours? I didn't know such complicated watches existed...

  • @Shangas no, it only tells you in 12 hour format.

  • although, you know the hands point to 13:59..

  • One of the best wristwatches I have seen.

  • looks almost fairytale'ish. awesome engineering.

  • sehr schön / very nice

  • nice

  • wtf

    so cool

  • swett
