4:59 this is some fine bass playing. Wilbur B Ware buoyantly holding it down. Still kinda feel he was Monk's best bassist, meaning they had a certain interaction not quite heard with other combinations. If you listen to Wibur on Sonny Rollins' "Night At The Vanguard" you can hear him shifting the harmonic rhythm here and there in really clever/tasteful ways, so in that sense I feel he and Monk were a perfect match. Such simple but brilliant bass lines and such solid time + huge sound = gold.
This is a must hear for every jazz fan! It does so good in illustrating both men's style of playing. Truly a remarkable and very significant recording in jazz history.

I almost forgot how cool and fluid Trane could be prior to his expansion in experimentation. This is truly a slick masterpiece by two titans.
