My Uncle just passed away Nov 28th. He was a tech sargent and waist gunner on a B24 shot down over Yugoslavia Dec 18 1944 Purple heart recipient etc etc Just wanted to thank you for the great video and the camera mounted in the waist gunner position to show the view my uncle Joe probably saw for most of the war! Thanks!
Very well done indeed. Your dedication and expertise are clearly evident here.
I have a 'bit' of film that I'm girding my loins to finish, and I have realised that it's all in the editing, so I congratulate you on this result, it's not easy at all!.
I really like that song. Thank you for telling me it was Bing. My Grandpa flew B-24's in WWII. How many channels are you using to fly? Is this kit still available? If so, can you tell me where it is available from. I looked up Wipa, and as far as I can tell, it is not in production.
Oh my gawd, I thought that was just about the corniest war song I'd ever heard!! I guess the mood was different then; it probably stirred a few folks into buying more War Bonds...
that's the Liberator....during WW2 Filipinos would look up to the sky hoping that it'd be one and not a Japanese Betty. According to my dad...Liberators dropped millions of "I shall return" cigarettes.
From extensive research I have done on my late father's
WWII bomber group (the 464th, 55th BW, 15th Air Force, Pantanella, Italy 1944-45), I recognized TARGET for TONITE that served with the 464th. Who makes this B-24 model and how did you make the pin up art?
The nose art was made with photoshop using a Vargas girl (same as used by the original nose artist). The model is a modified Wipa B-24 from the Czech Republic.
My Grandfather served in the 465th at Pantanella, 781st BS. He was a nose gunner on Grant A. Benson's crew. I'd like to contact you to discuss for my research efforts if you're interested? My email is fcantre at msn dot com.

Warms the heart. You did a great job. I love nostalgia.Unfortunate that humans go to war, however.
