How did LA Breakers win this? Boogie Brats smoked them. They had it all, footwork, style, flava, and power. All LA Breakers had was power that lasted like 15 seconds. I didn't like how Caveman kept doing something and then getting back up. Props to both, but Boogie Brats definitely deserved to win this one. Even though it was 7 years ago. LOL.
Ruen was my teacher but I gotta give it to Boogie Brats. Ruen and Caveman were doing plain powermoves all day. Kamel should've won this. But he won the following year with El Nino.
I think it was the way that Ruen was busting out incredible power moves and variations and linkings of them, that wasn't that common at the time. Same with Caveman. Take note, this was also a time period when the bboy scene was more about new styles coming up, like abstract styles, etc. The shift to going back to foundation and format in breaking, only started really happening
But funny thing is, Crumbs brought lot more creativity with power and abstract style but Style Elements lost but yet, Ruen and Caveman crashed so many times in their powermoves but yet, they win. lol. Oh well. Props to LA Breakers and Boogie Brats. Btw, do you know what happened to Caveman? Is he dead? Someone told me Caveman got arrested for drugs but I'm not buying that story until I can confirm it.
Best battle is Style Elements vs Boogie Brats 2001 LOTF. That's classic battle of 21st century. Nothing can top that duo battle. Closest Duo battle that can come close to that battle is Havikoro vs Floor Brats, and Project Seoul vs Super Crew in 2005 Freestyle Session but those battles can't top SEC vs Boogie Brats LOTF 2001.
