@kingnorlin it's ok cause you can have an r32 gtr and have rear wheel drive the all wheel drive system is electronically controlled so you just pull the fuse and the front wheels never kick In. And besides the skyline is rear wheel drive all the time, only when the backfires spin will the fronts kick in. So it will break loose like a rear wheel drive but then the front wheels kick in to give you more control.
@xenoreiatsu it actually induces oversteer, minimising understeer and then once traction is broken at the rears it then helps you control it by going full lock (only 1 or 2 degrees) the other way.
@liondancerulez The car is 20 years old. 74,000 (While most have WAY more) is nothing. I just put a dash with 45,000km on it in my GTR and it simply does not feel right.
@freekaleek876 Must be why it's fitted with an RB26 and has a working Torque meter. The owner even said stock GTR except a few things including GT2860R's - Which are the common upgrade for GTR's. I in fact ordered a set of GT2860R -5's today for mine.
@freekaleek876 It's an rb26. It sounds like an rb26, it's in a GTR with a torque meter. Damn man I own one of these cars and have a great background with them. This isn't Need for Speed man, lol.
Search "Andrew's R32 Skyline Drift 2" - That's what an rb20 sounds like. They are single turbo, there is a HUGE difference to the sound.
Eitherway I'm not debating it with people who are ignorant any further, it's an rb26 still using the twin turbo setup.

R32, R33, and R34 were ALL AWD. People just do RWD conversions because you can hold a drift longer with RWD than AWD and its not overly hard to do the conversion
@widebodytx3 That and, while rolling, you can turn key off and back on. The engine still runs cause of the 1 second ECU cutout, so quick off, quick on, while rolling, and you got yourself a rear wheel drive :P Bout to put a switch on mine.
The turbines will shatter at higher boost levels rather eagerly if the turbos are stock and have not been rebuilt. The RB needs a high capacity oil pump around the 450-500 hp mark to avoid oil starvation.
1. A high capacity oil pump is just goin to send more oil up into the head. You need restrictors
2. oil starvation isnt a power related problem. Its rpm that affects it. power has no factor, even Stock R32s will suffer this if you push it past 7500Rpm. because the oil pump runs off the crank, the higher the RPM, the more oil its passing to the head, leavin the bottom end dry. This problem is only inherent in early model R32 GTR's made prior to 1993.
Nice GTR. I've got a '89 R32 GTR but I can't register it till the end of the year. New Zealand has laws that stop it being registered, but the law only applies to cars less than 20 years old. Can't wait for the end of this year. =P
No, but as its terminal speed recorded over the quarter mile was 181kmh and it hit that in 12.6 seconds, so judging by this video its safe to assume its still fairly accurate as it still hits an indicated 180kmh in around 12 seconds.
It appears to be getting worse if anything...keep meaning to replace it with a 300kmh speedo...see if that makes a difference. Although it may be the speedo drive cable itself.
cool you got Jasma parts......dear got, jasma mean it passes anti-polution test in japan, its not a brand of header or downpipe or any other parts. your vid still be great.
The Dump and Front pipes are made my Trust / GReddy, the exhaust was on the car when i bought it, its made my Jasma....Not that I give a stuff who made it...its just not a standard part, which is why i mentioned it ;)
what the fuck your all dumb fucks who sound like your 17 and never owned a real car and know fuck all if u know anything about skylines does that sond like a fukin gtst?
this car is a gtr i have an r32 gtr myself and had a gtst type m turbo for two years the gtr has 10,000rpm on the tacho and the gtst has 9,000rpm the gtr can be used with 100% rear wheel drive but a switch has to be wired in first.
also notice the recv limiter goes to redline in 8k not 7k like the gtsts. the grill is slotted also. if it is a gtst then it is frickn quick mate. nice one.
for all of you who are whinging that this isnt a gtr because it is doping a rwd skid, go home. he clearly has it switched to rwd, as clearly explained by 4 others. there is many ways to do it. go learn your cars befor you start telling people shit you dont know about them :) peace.
you can however put a switch on either of them, this isnt a gts4 tho, rather easy to tell . you can also turn your car off when your rolling forward and then restart it, this will also disable 4wd.
so what proves its a gtr? anyone can say there that there gs-t is a gtr, just driving with the switch on 2wd. about 90 procent of the swedish and danish skylines have the gtr sign at the back.
"short shifting" it like he was, (Stock they can handle 10Krpm, for short bursts, RB26 has a insanely short stroke, some built stock stroke engines rev to 12K on drag tracks) I'm not worried about long term reliability, especially considering he replaced the ceramic turbos for a pair of turbos the same size, with steel impellers.

This IS my Car.
This IS a genuine GTR.
As has been mentioned it is easy enough to run the R32 GTR in 2WD.
You can remove the fuse, add an incab switch....or as I did just turn the ignition off as your rolling then turn it back on.
The 4WD (and ABS) light comes on the dash showing it has been disabled....it re-Engages 4WD as soon as you come to a complete stop
sr20trx1 3 years ago
Hey how does this work? Doesn't it still have a mechanical link to the front wheels, giving it still a small bit of torque?
elit34 3 years ago
with out the fuse, or awd light off, the car is completely rwd, it only gives drive to front wheels if rears loose traction
Tomek858 3 years ago
hicas lockout does not make it 2wd it just cancels the 4 wheel steering.
to make it 100% 2 wheel rwd you just take out the fuse from under the hood. there's also one under the dash somewhere i believe.
killabaka 3 years ago
Its a GTR guys... he has this thing called a HICAS lockout bar so he has RWD

All turbos sound the same, if they're the same size. What your hearing is the turbulence on the cold side of a turbo. That's why they whistle.
