The thing with the Japanese not liking 4 is that the Japanese word for 4 (四） Is pronounced Shi (し）. But Shi (し）is also the way the word for death (死） is pronounced and since like forever the number 4 has been synonymous with death. Kind of similar to the number 13 in Western culture.
Some asian people believe that the number 4 is bad, or brings bad luck, yet Nikon has made a d40, Canon has a 40d, and they also make mk4 cameras. So whats the deal!?!
Next time you guys should talk about how to start earning with photographing, on every aspect, wedding, concerts, shooting for bands, newspapers etc... As long it's freelance, not working directly only for newspaper or something like that. Shooting for everyone who just needs a photo and photographer to take the photo. Where to find jobs/customers, how to price the photos, what you should definetly have with you and so on, you know what I'm talking about.
Great! Tip. If you want great podcasting AND video audio you should use the H4N zoom. It's brilliant and you might wanna try blogtv for the next show, much easier platform than Ustream!

Really enjoy your video's. Been trying to watch them all, even though I went with Canon...there is so much to learn and your video's are so very educational, regardless what DSLR you own.
Buy just the body and screw the kit lenses, a good body and a good glass is going to go further than a body with cheap kit lenses. I just got in to photography and decide to buy good glass now than have to upgrade later.

i agree with greg when it comes to portrait photography vs just regular photography...me being a fashion photographer it takes alot more skill to actually know strobe lighting,natural lighting making a set putting together a team finding a location and everything that comes with a photoshoot the just going to a concert and waiting for the moment to happen..theres not much to be creative about it? just composition.. and crap like that
From all of the stuff you're saying about Nikon low light capabilities you're really making me consider switching over to Nikon. I don't know what I would do about all of my Canon glass though.
@BruckThatsMe the d3s is surly good at low light but if you for example scale down a 21 mp image from the eos 5d mkII to the resolution of the d3s there is no major difference anymore ...thats how I see these things ;) And unless you won't buy a pro body the high iso will be bad on both brands...I also thought about switching over but the nikon menu system is really to complicated for me and I wouldn't be able to afford a d3s in near future anyway ^^ :S
@estudio100rafa the audio coming from the mics we used is much cleaner i dont think the yeti would be the best for two people around the table unfortunately.
Please think about european watchers! Maybe you could switch your times to prime times around the world each week? One week at 8 pm eastern the other at 8pm western and the other at 8 pm european?! Hope you could also up a schedule, then we can mark your sessions in my calendar ;-)

stimulus failed, yeah people got to keep their jobs. But now everything is gonna be more expensive due to inflation. Because the goverment printed the money to bail the companies out.

Personally, i have the Sigma 70-200 2.8, and i love it so much. I don't go anywhere without it, although that may be because i am mainly a wildlife photographer.
The Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens is a real beauty and its quality is amazing for the price. I would recommend this lens, not sure about Jared but i hope i have helped a bit.
Mr. Froman sir! Do you think it makes any sense to buy an old school lens like the 135mm f2 ? It has no ED elements, no nano coating, no AF-S but it has the DC control feature which will probably never ever be used again in a modern lens by Nikon?
Nikon does give software , it's called view NX and it allows you to edit and convert your RAW files and they have a free download of it on their website . It's not as good as lightroom ofcourse but it does the job.
Thanks for telling about the prices of lenses is the price hike only applicable on Canon lenses or Nikon is also going to do the same. will get some good lenses from Allen's.

@JaredPolin Hi Jared, I've been saving up for this camera, then im gonna be buying this very soon, what would be the best recommended lens for portrait for D7000? I'm looking at Nikkor 24-70mm, but it's for FX camera. Would the quality be compromise of the conversion something? Or should i go for 17-55mm which is also a pro lens but for DX camera. I wanted to have zoom pro lens, but not the 70-200mm vr II yet. pls repl
@MrIcapturemoments the quality would not be compromised it would be just as good as on full frame. But id go with the 17-55 because your not going full frame anytime soon.
@indemaTROY were figuring it all out this was a test. We knew this was going on we just didnt have the right cable to try something else nor could i find how to mix down the audio in the Canon XH-A1.

I shoot RAW+JPEG i'll tell You why:
I have a NAS at home where I can store my RAW data of my images AND basic Jpegs for viewing them from the internet anywhere.
Jpegs are for internet view (mobile devices ect.)

I'm pretty sure you can manually update ACR. Even with elements.
And as far as cheap raw conversion and editing, I used to use Raw Therapee back in the day, and if the budget is tight, it's not half bad.
