En su momento conocì a compay segundo en la havana, festejando sus 75 años de vida artistica en el 2002 en el hotel nacional, verlo interpretar y tocar sus canciones fue algo impresionante.
Me llama la atención el aspecto típico de cancionero típico del norte de Mexico ( particularmente del estado de Chihuahua, de donde soy nativo), y me agrada mucho la sencillez de su interpretación tan campirana como melodiosa. No cabe duda que en algún punto, las raíces hispanoamericanas confluyen, independientemente del área geográfica donde se manifiestan. Me llama la atención el aspecto típico de cancionero típico del norte de Mexico ( particularmente del estado de Chihuahua, de donde soy nativo), y me agrada mucho la sencillez de su interpretación tan campirana como melodiosa. No cabe duda que en algún punto, las raíces hispanoamericanas confluyen, independientemente del área geográfica donde se manifiestan. Mis saludos y respetos al pueblo Cubano, y que ojalá sigan aumentando la difusión a nivel mundial de su gran talento musical.
