It was cool to see Jamie Lee in the film with her mother Janet Leigh and I loved how she decided to end Michael once and for all! Resurrection was the nail in the Halloween coffin until Rob Zombie came along and fucked things up even further. Now a lot of kids today will think that Myers is a redneck psycho with mommy issues, instead of evil incarnate!

Like some good remakes were The Hills Have Eyes (sorta) True Grit, The Thing (John Carpenter), and True Lies which is a remake of La Totale! The best remakes however are the ones Alfred Hitchcock does, to his own movies.

They make them because of the nostalgia factor for older viewers and they try to bring them to a new audience who haven't seen the originals. This film is a classic- it still has the same effect it had on me years ago- scares the life out of me, lol! Its just so creepy and full of suspense, in the respect that you never really know when MM is going to appear and the music is some of the best menacing horror music i've heard, even now! The Exorcist, The Amityville Horror, Poltergeist, and Halloween, when you can walk out of a theatre and still think about the movie, thats a good horror movie! h6: little bit to gory for a halloween sequel but its a decent movie

@Kexlavan I have to agree with you on a few points. H1 is a CLASSIC. A plot line with of this nature was unheard of for 1978. Because H2 took place on the same night, it is good, however, doesn't capture the feel of the first movie. H3? Does that even exsist? H4 had a great plot and good ending. H5? Seriously? I was more concerned for the kitten in the barn. Interesting way that Jamie communicated with Michael. H6 I don't remember. H20 not bad. H8 ha! Remake: WTF?

I'm 12 and I like the original series,but, face it,movies these days only get by by remaking movies. Even if Rob Zombie's remakes were good, it's because he can't come up with his own ideas and people haven't even heard of the original.

Halloween Movies:
h1 (1978)- Awesome Classic and original
h2 (1981) Still pretty awesome
h3 I'm not even going to say anything abouth this
h4 still good

h6 this is when things started to get stupid

@44excalibur rob zombies version was not better because this movie that was made was made perfect. you cannot ever make a movie as good is this. this whole slasher things was developed a lot here and perfected by this movie and of course I think the friday the 13th deserves it respect also. but the second halloween rob zombie was good because he made a new story out of it while the new story he made n the first was not good.

This film is a classic- it still has the same effect it had on me years ago- scares the life out of me, lol! Its just so creepy and full of suspense, in the respect that you never really know when MM is going to appear and the music is some of the best menacing horror music i've heard, even now! Yeah it is a slasher movie to a point but the difference between today and then is that it has certain amount of class to it! It will always be my fave Halloween themed movie regardless !

The fact of the matter is that movies today don't have the same character that they did "back in the day" because movies today are products of board meetings and not products of artists getting together and making a unique, interesting film. The best Horror movies from the 70's and 80's were more psychological (made you think) like.... The Exorcist, The Amityville Horror, Poltergeist, and Halloween, when you can walk out of a theatre and still think about the movie, thats a good horror movie! IMHO and wonder "where is the boogie man hiding? "
