Hey dude, I'm pretty new to this DJ stuff and have been looking at this thing to practice and learn some stuff, would you reccomend this or a twin CD unit for beginners?
@canthaguild These feel more professional than a twin CD deck, but you can certainly use Twin if it suits your needs, or if you are planning to simply use as a mobile DJ. I prefer the individual players, but like I said, its all personal preference and down to how much you want to spend!
@hoozurdaddylo I wouldn't compare them... One is a CD/Media player, the other is a Serato or VDJ control surface. If you are asking what I would choose? I would choose a V7 as its stronger, has way cool controls and ultimately more versatile with software in my opinion.
@HitchHikersBlues So you don't want to use the CD? Don't buy this if you don't want to use the CD or media. Buy a V7 if you want to simply have a great Virtual DJ controller!
@talljake Its personal preference, you seem to get more value for money with Numark as you don't pay for the massive name of Pioneer, but Pioneer does have advantages as it is used in every club, so sets you up to be able to feel at home when you get into a club, if that is what you are trying to do.
@HitchHikersBlues Well, you certainly don't, but remember a laptop does a lot more than a single CD player can! Digital DJing is the way of the future for sure and you can also check your twitter account!!!!! This is a CD player, so doesn't require anything except a CD for its source...
I just bought a pair of these babies today : ) ...and the USB thumb drive seems to be working well with the initial few folders i put on it, in NTFS format.
NTFS format...something i knew nothing about till yesterday...FAT32...NTFS ??? xD
I figured i had to make the move from Vinyl sooner or later...i'll never stop buying records though ; )
@TheDjvultik No, not with Serato Scratch as a controller or Itch, it would work with Serato Scratch with the DVS Control CDs though... But not as a USB midi controller, which is what I think you mean...
if i was to purchase 2 of these, based on the fact i already have a djx700 mixer. what else would i need in order to use it like a mac controller? thanks alot!
@GreatALAD The NDX!!! If you are using a software based DJ system, of course you will have to look at the Laptop Screen, but the NDX effects show up on the NDX screen and the Software effects show up on computer...
@Kikkara69 Wow, ok, ummmm, I need more info to help... You are a experienced in equipment I assume if you can get the MIDI function working with the NDX800, so I assume you have audio leads coming through to your mixer? DO you have lights showing a signal coming from the NDX to mixer? Have you tested the CD you are trying to play? I think this will be something REALLY simple as it normally is with these kind of problems... Hit me up with an email if you need more help! andre@12am.com.au

haha dope video buddy, explained a lot! I've done my research now, I think im gonna buy this one this week, just a couple questions. I want to use this to control Serato Scratch live so I can use it with Ableton as "the bridge" I'm thinkin I'll need the serato soundcard interface but will I need a timecode CD as well? or will it be able to control it well enough through midi only?
Possibly the best NDX800 review on youtube. Thank you for this clean and concise presentation. Your information was helpful in answering questions I had about this device.
Man thanks for sharing this great video. You did a great job showing how much you can do with this thing. i now know which unit I want to buy. I am on a budget and this things ROCKS.
i hope someone can help me? i'm trying 2 decide between this cd player ndx800 and denom dn-s3700 which one is better cuz theres a difference in price and right now i can afford 2 numark cd players but for denom i will have to wait 2 months which is no a problem but i will like some advice if someone can help me please thanks for yor time .-
yo can u hook up turntables to this? btw, do you know of anything similar to the numark MIXDECK, like a universal DJ controller with the CD players and USB setup?
Hi i'm having problems with my ndx800...the bpm counter doesn't appear to work well. Some tracks would be marked with 179 and it could vary all the way to 95. When I put the track on virtual dj, it says it has 130 bpm. I really don't trust the tap button because it is not really than accurate. I hope you can help me with this since I don't live in the USA and no one can help me fix it.
hey man, ive been meaning to buy a pair of cd players, ive noticed that the ndx800 is considerably chaper than any of pioneers cdj's, im at entry level and as im 17 im on a tight budget. would you recommend a pair of these for someone like me? cheers m8
Alright there, great video, was just wondering, if i wanted to hook two of these ndx 800's up to my mac, would they definately work as i've got traktor? I'd use an external mixer aswel... Thanks :)
hey pal. im looking for turntables i can conect to my computer. i can allready record to my comp but i wanna use my comp as music source to the turntable. can this be done on the ndx 800? because i cant do it on my pionner cdj800's. thanks
I'm considering buying two NDX800. I'm a newbie so I've been asking more experienced djs on forums and such. Most of them seems to be really into Pioneer. I've been looking around and I feel like the NDX800 would be great for me to start with since I want my cdj at a fair price but still with good features. The other djs are however making me a bit insecure. Can anyone tell me why I should buy NDX800?
I'm looking to get back on the DJ scene but a lot this stuff is new to me. I like the NDX800's and was thinking of picking up a pair along w/ the Cue software & the DMC2 controller. I was wondering if you can give me some advice as to what kind of mixer I should get w/ it & what kind of laptop I should be looking for to run the software.
Excellent Video mate, very informative. Do you think it is worth the money to upgrade to the ndx800 from the ndx400? Is there really that much of a difference between the two?
Hey mate, just wondering if you have looked at the cdj350 or 850's at all. If so just wondering what you recommend in terms of price, quality, features etc.
Anyone have problems with these?? when my CD is in they make loud noises and get stuck the play button and cue button need to be pounded on cuz they stick and the BPM reader jumps up and down like from 130-138 to 174 and they just go up and down anyone else have these problems?
Hi I am getting into becoming a dj and was wondering do I need a mixer and two of the ndx 800 in order to get started or can I just buy the ndx800 to get started and learn the basics??? please help I need to know before xmas that would be awesome
@130killa my opinion if you are starting 2 numarks ndx800 and a cheap mixer to learn the beatmatching for mixers i will say 2 start check numark dmx09 3 channel mixer good price it may be around 250 usd probably or check numark 5000fx mixer 5 channels is about 500usd i think but whatever you get my advice be patient cuz it takes time 2 learn
& if money is not a problem go for a xone3d or xone 4d is about 2,000usd i guess but is a sick mixer u can check videos in u tube and decide
nice vid. but i have a question, almost 90% reviews i've read on this ndx800 are saying this player is compatible with vdj,traktor,etc.. but none cant seem to get it to work.can you post a vid of the player working with a software. i want to get 2 of these since its able to have cd/mp3/usb/midi but im leaning towards the v7, just need another opinion or advise. thanks
Hi does anyone know what the difference between ndx800 and ndx800 professional one has a silver ring that goes around and the black platter has a seprate ring that goes around apart from that what's the best ndx 800
Greetings, my friend a question, two numark ndx800 can read mp3 track of one same external usb drive disc, as you would, I appreciate your help, thanks.
@greenbaker21 ... Hi mate, you can indeed, feel free to ask any questions you like, myself or someone on here will be able to help :) The plugging into a computer is an added bonus to this player, do it and you can then control DJ software on your computer... But it is great, just as a CD and Media player
I am looking for a 3rd Cd table mainly for acapellas and melos but also for some quick transitions, I think the review was perfect and it convinced me however, does it have a pitch lock (master tempo on cdj) so when you increase the tempo the pitch will stay the same, it looks like the key lock maybe it but i cant be sure on that if anyone knows, your help is very appreciated
I know you are the Numark guy and I for one appreciate your reviews. i am in the market to update my equipment and the NDX800 is on my shortlist along with the mixdeck. but i have also found the Reloop RMP3 to be in my price range also. Reloop is new to the states but i have read and seen great thing about it . if you have any experience with the Reloop line, Please give an opinion
Hey, can you please mention all the differences between the ndx400 and the ndx800? It would be great btw if you would make a video about the 400 also, although it isnt that relevant, i know that..
thank you for this video :) one question: would you recommend this baby to someone who is just about to start the whole dj thing? what else would you recommend? I'm planning buying 2*Numark ndx800 and Pioneer djm400? what do you think about this kombination/choice? I must honestly say that I would prefer to buy cd players from Pioneer but the budget is not that big :) hope you can answer my questions. greetings from Germany :)
Hey, when you plug in à cd/USB/external drive, can you scroll through Maps or does it only display 01..02...03 and the name of the song? Because i am planning To buy one so i can use USB for example, but i made all kind off categories in Maps with differtent albums etc.. So i hope it displays for example: 'USB > Maps > albums > house music 1 > 01,02,03' And not just when you plug it in: track 01,02,03 till 10.000 for example, could anyone please give an answer To this basic question?
can you start playing a new song while you're still playing the previous song, so you are mixing those two, or when you finished the song you just select a new song and that one will start, so my simple question is, can you play 2 songs at the same time.
There is an old saying in Brazil that says "Who's mouth goes to Rome". In times of internet you can change to 'Who is Google discovers everything "... hahahahah
I know the song "Hey Hey" Master of the House intelligence: Mr. Dennis Ferrer .. anyway agreadecido much for making me happy! Keep Deep!
Hi i liked your video and ur lil mix...=)...i have the ndx800 just got it a few weeks ago and love it. Just wish i could learn to do some of the stuff you were doing on it. Keep up the videos.
@themredr You can indeed. Push the MODE button and get into Sample mode, then you can record parts. You don't need the mixer volume to do this, so yes, you can have it silent to your audience from another player.....
Hi Andre, im currently using Gemini cdj 600's and just about to get the behringer ddm4000 mixer..i wanna make a step up but the Pioneer 1000's arent really in my price range and from what ive seen these look equally as good? but can i ask what 'hot cueing' actually is? as ive never been clear on it. and ive also previously owned a Numark IDJ2 and i wasnt keen on the buttons stability, are these better? thanks
WOW first good vid ive seen on this equipement so far. im thinking of gettins these cdjs. but first, do they work as a controller? therese been talk about how both cannot be used at the same time while using programs such as vdj, traktor etc...
@0a0b0c22 Hey, Yes the NDX800 does work as a controller, it has a USB port at the back of the unit to run MIDI messages to your favourite DJ software so you can set it up as a controller. You can't use the CD player and controller at the same time, This is because they are different modes, so its one or the other. You could however have one NDX setup as a controller and another as a CD player if wanted, or you could switch between control and CD modes if needed.
Hi i'm thinking of getting a dj but not really sure what to get i was look at the C 324 by stanton thats one of the main ones i am thinking of getting have you got any idea's for which dj i should start oh and i'm only a begginer for djing
The C.324 is a few years older than this unit, but it was quite popular for Stanton back a few years back... You could use any CD player as a beginner, it all depends on what you want to do with your DJing. Then you can work out what features look good for your style. Send me a message/email if you want to discuss options. Cheers
@andrecato Ok i think that i would like to do mixing and looping and cueing i don't really want to do it for people just for fun with friends so what should i get if thats what i'll be doing.

@boucantier12 yes they also save your hot looops but i don't know sure the samples cause I tested it in a store and I needed to stop cause i was there 1 hour mixing :p

Hi I am getting into becoming a dj and was wondering do I need a mixer and two of the ndx 800 in order to get started or can I just buy the ndx800 to get started and learn the basics??? please help I need to know before xmas that would be awesome
130killa 1 year ago
@130killa my opinion if you are starting 2 numarks ndx800 and a cheap mixer to learn the beatmatching for mixers i will say 2 start check numark dmx09 3 channel mixer good price it may be around 250 usd probably or check numark 5000fx mixer 5 channels is about 500usd i think but whatever you get my advice be patient cuz it takes time 2 learn
& if money is not a problem go for a xone3d or xone 4d is about 2,000usd i guess but is a sick mixer u can check videos in u tube and decide

im new to this stuff. can u simply just play around with a cd or an ipod without plugging it in into the computer?
greenbaker21 1 year ago
@greenbaker21 ... Hi mate, you can indeed, feel free to ask any questions you like, myself or someone on here will be able to help :) The plugging into a computer is an added bonus to this player, do it and you can then control DJ software on your computer... But it is great, just as a CD and Media player

@andrecato You can plug this into any mixer with RCA cables right?

DJPowersXD 1 year ago
I am looking for a 3rd Cd table mainly for acapellas and melos but also for some quick transitions, I think the review was perfect and it convinced me however, does it have a pitch lock (master tempo on cdj) so when you increase the tempo the pitch will stay the same, it looks like the key lock maybe it but i cant be sure on that if anyone knows, your help is very appreciated

Andre,
I know you are the Numark guy and I for one appreciate your reviews. i am in the market to update my equipment and the NDX800 is on my shortlist along with the mixdeck. but i have also found the Reloop RMP3 to be in my price range also.

Loranzz 1 year ago
thank you for this video :) one question: would you recommend this baby to someone who is just about to start the whole dj thing? what else would you recommend? I'm planning buying 2*Numark ndx800 and Pioneer djm400? what do you think about this kombination/choice? I must honestly say that I would prefer to buy cd players from Pioneer but the budget is not that big :) hope you can answer my questions. greetings from Germany :)
MissVibchen 1 year ago
Hey, when you plug in à cd/USB/external drive, can you scroll through Maps or does it only display 01..02...03 and the name of the song? Because i am planning To buy one so i can use USB for example, but i made all kind off categories in Maps with differtent albums etc.. So i hope it displays for example: 'USB > Maps > albums > house music 1 > 01,02,03' And not just when you plug it in: track 01,02,03 till 10.000 for example, could anyone please give an answer To this basic question?
Loranzz 1 year ago
Hi,
I have a question,
can you start playing a new song while you're still playing the previous song, so you are mixing those two, or when you finished the song you just select a new song and that one will start, so my simple question is, can you play 2 songs at the same time.
Greetings

I have one question:
Can you sample parts of a track while another track is playing?
themredr 1 year ago

0a0b0c22 1 year ago
@0a0b0c22 Hey, Yes the NDX800 does work as a controller, it has a USB port at the back of the unit to run MIDI messages to your favourite DJ software so you can set it up as a controller. You can't use the CD player and controller at the same time, This is because they are different modes, so its one or the other. You could however have one NDX setup as a controller and another as a CD player if wanted, or you could switch between control and CD modes if needed.

Hi i'm thinking of getting a dj but not really sure what to get i was look at the C 324 by stanton thats one of the main ones i am thinking of getting have you got any idea's for which dj i should start oh and i'm only a begginer for djing
madmandidhe 1 year ago
@madmandidhe .
The C.324 is a few years older than this unit, but it was quite popular for Stanton back a few years back... You could use any CD player as a beginner, it all depends on what you want to do with your DJing. Then you can work out what features look good for your style. Send me a message/email if you want to discuss options. Cheers
