I would say that the "screaming" is more stereotypic then typifying.

Lot of punk was inspired by other non-mainstream music, such as ska, reggae, folk-music etc. Hell, the Sex Pistols was inspired by ABBA (just look at the guitar track on "Pretty Vacant" and compare that with ABBAs "SOS").

dont know if you still wanna know: They played this song live during a VERY SHORT tour (3 weeks I think ) in the US.I know of at least one version RECORDED live while this tour.I have it on LP.Its great!
