Can you please explain to us why this show was ever so popular in Israel?

I was watching it in Greece and when I went in my kibbutz (ein harod ihud) in 1990, i was asking the same question.

One day one comrade comes with a copy of Jerousalem Post and the story of two kids who went missing. The went to Jordan, to visit Petra. And the article was concluding, with something like, in eretz yisrael we have no mountains and our youngsters are looking for some excitement elsewhere.. :)

Don't know why this series was so pupular in Israel. We do have many mountains in Israel but the 2 who went to Petra weren't looking for mountains there but to see the red color and the ancient stuff there.

it took me 32 years to get the chance to watch this last episode of the Lost Islands. I missed it then in 1977... ;-)

It even seems to me like I'm the only one who remember this series, but look, nearly 370 hits, I can't be the only one...

But you should have left the subtitles. I am from Germany, first time watched this in English and the Hebrew (?) subtitles are only confusing ;-)

It's a shame they never continued this series.
