when i first read this in the manga i thought... "can gutts really beat griffith and why is griffith opposing him?" never would have guessed griffith was that insane at that point in time. guts is superior to griffith as a swordsman and i cant wait for the final showdown! i do love griffith's character but the bastard deserves to die....
Griffith is the most repugnant character ever. He does nothing to really earn his power, he just sits there and whores himself out two however can help himself, or he whores other people out.
I'mma have to call bull on this fight, even though they didn't really fight, and this is just a fan thing, if you even get touched by Guts' sword, you're dead, that's just all there is to it. The BEST you could hope for is just a severed limb, and no offense Griffith fans, but Griffith's muscle doesn't really look like it could stop his sword.
tbh, i think the english dubbed voice acts suit and sound far better compared to the japanese voice actors, they always go over the top with screaming and shouting, where as the english just gets the tone and pitch correct to the relevent moment of the scenes.
hey hey come on. berserk and one piece are both very good manga in different kind of stories. one piece is more upbeat and dramatic with not that serious fights(many exceptions such as ace's death. er spoiler?). berserk is a serious manga with lots of revenge and deaths and bloody-fighting awesomeness. don't compare them, they are both awesome. it's like comparing goku to chuck norris- you don't want to piss off either.

i think evil guys are portrayed more confident and cool looking. In fact there are good guys that can do the same. That's not "Lightsaber sounds", that's what Guts's sword would actually sound like if someone were to swing it around. It's because they're swinging a very large object around at decent speed. I've experienced this when I decided to swing a small tree branch around. The branch was about 14 feet long and about 3 inches thick. It made the "low pitch whoosh" sound compared to my hand-and-a-half sword which makes the high-pitch "whiff" sound.
Okay, I guess that makes sense. It's been a while since I read that part. I wish they had released this game in the US with the voice actors from the anime dub. That would have been awesome.
There's a dreamcast version that made it state side I really enjoy it! I didn't even know about the manga or the cartoon until a whole 2 yrs later. The game has great voice it's worth hunting down!

That is your opinion then. If you would've watched the whole anime, then you would probably want to know more about it. That is when I started reading the manga, and it seriously is one of the best things I have ever read or watched. Besides you might not have liked the anime because it was a little dated.

I'd have to disagree with that. Trying to swim while wearing normal clothes is difficult and restricting. And Plate Armor may not be ridiculously heavy it still greatly restricts your movement. Thus, even staying afloat while wearing a suit of armor would be very tiring. Let alone swimming.

It could be, but you gotta give credits to Gutts for getting that strong AS A HUMAN. Griffith instead had to reach as a demon king what he couldn't achieve as a human, and that will be his doom. Since he doesn't have the spiritual or emotional strenght that Gutts has (you could say he doesn't have as much guts as Gutts does xD).

In the manga he faced femto before the flashback with the band of the Hawk. He couldn´t get even near him etc.
And he saw him later when he got his Griffith form back but couldn´t fight him because Zodd got in the way.

I've seen the anime, or at least the first twenty episodes.....the worst thing I've ever encountered in my entire life and I can give perfectly valid reasons for it too

That is your opinion then. If you would've watched the whole anime, then you would probably want to know more about it. That is when I started reading the manga, and it seriously is one of the best things I have ever read or watched. Besides you might not have liked the anime because it was a little dated.

Look, I've never watched a full episode of Naruto, BUT I tried watching one of teh fights on youtube once, just to see what the fixation was, and I wasn't impressed. I've NO DOUBT that overall its an excellent anime, but I just couldn't get into it but that doesn't mean I hate it either

Not to mention that you're probably the only person who thinks the Berserk anime is bad (virtually all critics give it straight As).
And to KayneArcheron, Gantz is popular. In terms of online reading, its popularity is only out-shined by the Shounen Trinity.

Hmm, this is one series where I prefer the English dub cast. The voices are much better suited, especially Gattsu's.
PS: No Markis, it's a completely different game. It covers the Millenium Falcon arc in v22 and v23. The PS2 game is the same arc, but v22 to v27. Also, I hope you mean sad as in underappreciated!

Full plate armor isn't as heavy as everyone thinks. You can even swim in it, somewhat.

I'd have to disagree with that. Trying to swim while wearing normal clothes is difficult and restricting. And Plate Armor may not be ridiculously heavy it still greatly restricts your movement. Thus, even staying afloat while wearing a suit of armor would be very tiring. Let alone swimming.

Nah Griffith would'nt be abile to block that sword no matter who good he might be, simple matter of weight and size, sure he could dodge it, but Gutts is damn quik with that thing.

It could be, but you gotta give credits to Gutts for getting that strong AS A HUMAN. Griffith instead had to reach as a demon king what he couldn't achieve as a human, and that will be his doom. Since he doesn't have the spiritual or emotional strenght that Gutts has (you could say he doesn't have as much guts as Gutts does xD).
